Yeah, luckily for me my hopper itself was hitting me that hard last night.

I was going to power the Sub up last night for the first time since getting a hopper again, but I just didn't need to.
I was also tempted by a friend's tobacco and hydro mix, but much preferred the hopper which is a big reason I could overcome addiction..
I decided I prefer the hopper to the Tubo, though I used that one for some hash. Kief and herb is best through the GH, for me. Flavour and cloud perfection.

This product is only for those who aren't easily frustrated and who are willing to endure some misfortune to arrive at riches.
I value those riches beyond the tribulations faced in obtaining them. Given that that downside is not having it! It's pretty funny, device obsession is pretty unhindering unless you succumb to bitterness

of course a waste, but i feel a lot better, not getting annoyed/angry what ever every 3 weeks.
my best decision in case of Hoppers! Have a baked weekend @ all
yes you could have donated itmto @Vitolo who helps people who do not have the funds and need use vapes... or you could have give it a firend or a fc member or you could have sold it...

Yeah ... I don't think we would want to give Hoppers to someone who needs a vape for medical ... especially someone who might not have backups ... odds are they would just end up without a vaporizer 50-85% of the time, and they would spend 100-200% the cost of a new Hopper on warranty returns ...

Really not for those in need or those that depend on their device ... Hoppers are expensive to own, and 100% unreliable (at least that's their current track record). My 2 Hoppers that I got back suck ... they really don't perform like they should and they are extremely inconsistent (1 works right maybe 10-20% of the time, and the other works right 70% of the time but gets burning hot ... both back and front-end, and even body gets pretty hot ... fucking Hoppers ...)

Have you never been in a situation where you have reacted impulsively? I just had to hit it with a hammer, then I threw it away. I probably would not do it again, nonetheless it was liberating

Finally got my grasshopper back and it does work now but i'm noticing it getting very hot at the temp dial end as well as the mouthpiece end. is this normal? I don't think my original one got anywhere near as hot as this new one. should I live with it or return it again?

Hi to everybody. Anyone knows what happen to the HopperLabs ? After a long time of good good vaping a little metal ring in the back end broke , so I sent it to repair . They received it on may 5 but until now juni 16 no answers at all , even at my messages . It's my favourite but if any issue ( and this is number 4 ) thakes months to repair , better choose something alternative.

This may just be temporary but so far it seems like it's sticking. I was fiddling with my warranty SS grasshopper (still haven't heard back from HL) and I screwed the back end on as tight as I possibly could, way tighter than I normally would. When I do this it works almost perfectly. No (or at least SIGNIFICANTLY less) back end heat, no flickering lights, just a working hopper. When I unscrew it, and screw it on tight but not as tight as before, it starts acting up. Tighten it up just a hair more and boom back to working perfectly. When I screw it in all the way (as tight as I can pretty much) it makes the back end kind of uneven next to the body.

Isn't that how they are supposed to work? I heard you are supposed to hop on one foot while rotating 360deg counter-clockwise with your left-eye closed (right eye every 7th time), and while reciting the alphabet backwards skipping each 6th letter. Once you are done that, then you perform a rite with a sacrificial lamb, then turn the dial on your Hopper back and forth 4.73 times, then, as long as you got each step exactly right your hopper is guaranteed to perform perfectly for at least 1 hit.

If this doesn't work for you, then simply repeat as you must have fucked up a step somewhere along the way; obviously; it's obviously user error and has nothing to do with an unreliable device. Fucking users can't ever follow basic operating steps, and then they complain that their devices don't work properly. Wow!

Edit: It's good to own a farm with lots of lambs as a Hopper owner.

There's been two different charger designs. The old design featured a cable that "split" in two, and each end connected to a different side of the charger ring. On the new design the cable isn't split and it only connects to the ring in one spot.

Does that describe the difference you are referring two, or do you see a difference between two of the newer charger styles?

Yes, exactly.

I understand the purpose of going from the "split" cable to the single, reinforced connection - it's sturdier and less likely to break at the connection point(s). Any idea why the angled hole in connecting ring though?

BTW, I also notice that the ring only connects magnetically from one side now. The old ring was 'ambidextrous' - either side of the ring would connect magnetically. It doesn't make any difference to me really, but I'm curious as to the reason for this change.

Fraking Hopper Labs!! Does nothing work correctly there.

So, I added my note to the OG RMA on my returned non-functional GH. At that time, I dragged a pic of the offending AVB into the upload box and after I submitted it still says to this day "1 image still processing".

I agreed with @lazylathe , I believe it was, that this probably wasn't going to be seen as this ticket is probably closed (and I don't trust them to be able to do what every other CS ticket system can and reopen upon additional customer communication).

So, I opened a new RMA for it....and, you can't upload pics. When I drag the pic to the box, my browser immediately opens the picture and there is nothing you can do to select or approve its upload. All I can do is use the Go Back button to return to the RMA data entry fields and the pic is not attached.

Its always something with Hopper.

P.S. - ok, drag and drop doesn't work but if you click on the image upload field, you can browse to your image and upload it that way. sigh

I wouldn't recommend anyone do this but I sanded down the body of my hopper a hair and I think it fixed my problem mostly. I still get a tiny bit of back end heat at times but no flickering lights and the battery actually lasts longer than a bowl. I wouldn't have done this except when comparing my SS and Ti the Ti body (that has always worked flawlessly) was significantly shorter.

Edit: Here's a video of the stainless steel on temp 4.5 with a fresh bowl.

I got another pretty big hit after repacking and taking another rip.

Yep, that's what mine looked like at 4.2 on the first hit through water. Absolutely wonderful powerful vape until they "fixed" it. As said above, my newly returned GH runs cold to the point of it not being really usable.

Opened another RMA....so this is an RMA on my just returned RMA and I received this from Hopper. IMO, polite and responsive. No need to brutalize Drew, he's just trying to do his job and I can't ask more from him. I just want a well functioning GH back.

From Hopper:

We sincerely apologize for the trouble with your Hopper. Our upgrade has been a move to start producing the heating element in house as apposed to outsourcing. We admittedly do not catch every issue out of the door, but we are working and developing to improve this phenomena. I will attach a return label so you will not have to pay for shipping again. You will just need to print this out. We will get this fixed up and shipped back to you within several days of its return to us.

USPS shipping label link was here

Thank you,
Hopper Labs

So, we will see what happens now but I did reply with this (no use yelling at the guy, right....won't help).

Thank you, Drew. Your response was polite, humble and responsive and I can't ask for anything more (well, except a well functioning GH back, of course).

I recently retired from a long career as a Program Manager in tech. Mostly very high end telecom core network equipment and a LOT of software. I am aware of how hard it is to build in testibility and fault isolation ability and how difficult it can be to find all faults and failures. in a production run. But I also know, from long experience, that doing just that is absolutely essential to success.

Please do ensure my GH comes back with some spring in its step. As I said, it runs very cool even at temp 5. I would FAR prefer it to run hot as I can always roll the temp down. But with it cool at temp 5, there was no place to go up.

Also, when I turn it on, red goes to solid blue as expected but the blue light flickers when I actually draw. I the past that would indicated to me that time to change battery was imminent. I don't know if this is now expected behavior or indicative of the issue with my GH.

My OG GH did indeed work perfectly for almost 18 months. Milk on the first draw at 4.2 through a water pipe and very nicely even AVB after the session.

Not used as a daily driver and definitely babied and kept in the house, but it was a vapor producing machine and was everything a GH should be. I would love to have it back with that type of performance. :-)

Thanks again and try to keep an even strain out there. But I do really hope you guys can get your production and test issues worked out as a reliable and repairable GH would be a killer in the market place.

Please do reach out if you have any questions of me or any confusion/issues once my GH arrives.

And thank you for the shipping label and the promise of a fast turn-around time. I appreciate your fulfilling my requests in those areas.

Cheers

This to me is a significant improvement.

1. They are owning their problems and not trying, at all, to blame the customer

2. They are doing what they can to make it right by making the requested concessions

I really do hope this plays out right.
