Thanks for the advice. Heating does not appear even on my screen. I'll give the bezel a few taps and re tighten it up. I have noticed that my FV does get a bit warm with prolonged use so it does seem that I may have a bad connection somewhere.

They all get warm if you hit them frequently with not much cool-down time. I wouldn't assume that's a bad sign.

I just used the stage 2 kit with my FV for the second time. I got it a week ago, used the new batteries charged them after my first use. Now since a while passed, I figured one of the stage 2 batteries is empty. No power even though I know I charged it before, even worse - it just doesn't recharge anymore. The light on the charger (stage 2) stays green only!

What the hell!?

Sadly, this happens once in a while. I've had two or three Li-ion batteries suddenly die like that, although none of them have been quite as new as yours. I always get them in sets and in every case, the rest of the set continues to work just fine.

You can kill a battery by putting it in the charger upside down. The FV charger is supposed to protect against this, but there are chargers that don't and I've got one of them. :(

I can give you my review. And I hate that it's a bad one:
I am very unhappy with the FV.
After two of the chargers failed, first the normal one then the Stage II charger, the FV-Guys kindly enough sent me a new stage-II double charger, which I really appreciated. After having it used a couple of times, I only can load one battery at the time. As soon as I pop in a second battery -one of the lights indicate (one of the two) batteries are already fully charged. -Which certainly isn't the case.
I had some times when the functionality of the FV was as wished, now I can hold the button pressed as long as I want. The FV barely gets warm, I can get no vapour what so ever.
Maybe other people have a much more positive experience using this vaporizer. Mine is just not working for me, or maybe it will again after I tried it over and over again.
I am used to having problems and occasional dis functionality since I have it, since last week it just doesn't work at all

What do you mean by "first the normal one then the Stage II charger"? Are your batteries 3.2V or 3.7V? How much use did you get out of the batteries before you started to have trouble?

Thanks for the clarification. Being in the USA, I never investigated this aspect further.
My FV still performs marvelously, and I have with help of other members, and indeed from FV himself, outfitted a few local patients with FV units!
They are having a good time as well!

The FV has been my #1 ever since I got my first. I use one with the PA at my desk, and one with a battery when I'm watching TV. I dare say I've put mine through the hardest use of anyone outside of FlashVAPE's testing lab. I've pushed the field-repairable aspect to the limit, not because the FV fails easily but because I like to test to failure. I don't do this with most vapourizers but since the FV claims user repair capability I feel comfortable doing it, and the FV lives up to the claim. Most people will never need to do anything but brush off the top screen regularly.

The FV is a powerful device and needs care to avoid combustion, but it isn't hard to master and the rewards are fantastic. The flavour is exceptional. If you do combust, it is an easy clean-up because it doesn't retain the burnt taste. I've done it numerous times in the course of testing, and all I've ever needed to do was brush out the ashes. I can use tiny loads (my standard is .07g) but the bowl is huge and you can easily put in .3g or more (I have 2.2g in it at the moment). Once you get the feel of it you can get anything from wispy low temperature vapour all the way to thick clouds.

There's more, but I should stop gushing.

Thanks for the fucking visual. My night is now ruined. :argh:

But back on topic. What kind of grind does the FV prefer, an MFLB Finishing grind or a 2pc Space Case grind?

I haven't found a grind it doesn't like. Most of the time I'm using a coarser grind than the finishing grinder, but I often use a fine grind as well. I've even used kief. The tabbed screen can take whatever you throw at it, including BHO dabs. The beauty of it is that the worst that can happen is you have to replace it, which has never happened to me. Tabbed screens are easy to clean if they get clogged.

In September this year Pakalolo made a comment that caught my attention. I was experimenting with screens and the stage 2 setup which I have been using exclusively for over a yr.
His comment reminded me that I had a option for the original 3.2 batteries and setup I had completely ignored since I purchased the stage 2 kit. So I've been playing with the original setup for couple months now. I really like the original setup. In the original mode I find I get a longer taste on my product before it gets to full brown.I notice the flavor much more than I remember. I also notice it does require longer sessions in stage 1, and if I have plenty of time, the original setup is my main mode of use today.
What I really like is if I'm a little pressed for time or just need a quick blast I use the stage 2 setup. Things really get hopping in stage 2 quickly.
I guess I'm saying I find the Flashvape to be quite versatile for long lasting flavor sessions or for a quick blastoff.

I'm glad I somehow inspired you. I've gone back and forth between conduction and convection modes a lot, partly because I like to test stuff. For example, did you know that the PA at 7 is about equal to the 3.2V batteries, but at MAX it's not as hot as the 3.7V batteries? It's hard work finding this stuff out.

I like to use my fv with 3.7v battery's but in stage one mode for big flavorful ripps

That's the sign of an experienced FV user. It takes a little practice to make that work. Another way to use the 3.7V battery is to hit the FV inverted for a convection hit. It works even better inverted if you remove the tabbed screen, but then you have to be careful not to hit it upright because the load will be right on the heater screen and there will probably be a combustion event in your immediate future. The good news there is that it really won't harm the heater screen much.

I've even used kief.

Right after I posted that I decided to try .03 g of kief because I hadn't done that for a long time. I said cleaning the tabbed screen is easy and it is, but using kief does make it a bit harder. The kief immediately lumped up and stuck to the screen, so I had to scrape a little between hits. There were a lot of tasty hits though. While it took a little extra ISO soaking to get the tabbed screen clean, it wasn't hard to do either.

Tbh I would not say I'm an experhard
ed FV user as well I don't realy use my unit much at all but when I do I just don't get on with the 3.2v battery's but I do like a high temp vape as i use my solo at 7 and nano at 8 higer then most

With the 3.7v batteys out just have to be a lil bit more cearful as combustion can come on very fast buy once you no by taste when your to hot then staying away from combustion should not be to hard

I really want a FV PA as I think I would use it a lot more if o had that but don't nonif I can justify it as I don't use the FV much

3.7's in stage 1 mode as. Interesting. I'll try that!
I too would like the PA. Haven't pulled the trigger on that yet. But that's also interesting info Pakalolo has discovered in the research department on the PA!!

I love the PA because it lets me consistently choose the temperature that works best for whatever I'm doing. The one thing that surprised me was that it didn't get as hot as the 3.7s after 10 seconds. I can't see any problem with that, by the way. The difference isn't drastic.

The thing I don't like about the PA is that the cord makes the FV more difficult to stand up. It could really use a good solid stand.

To be honest I was hoping the PA was going to be a little cheaper. The 120$ is little steep (for me anyways). Especially after reading on this site there other vapes for almost that price or a little more. Tough call. Love the Flashvape in battery mode.

Hi all,

I v had some problem with my FV but it was fully replaced by the FV guys (it was still under warranty ). As soon as I v got my new unit the S2 charger started acting wierd : it is always on red ...so not sure what to do. Probably I have to purchase a new charger. Is there any compatible charger for the 3.7v batteries ?Can I still use the charger even if always on red, keep the batteries on charge and use them even if the green ll not appear? To order a new charger from FV it would take long time before receiving it and the shipping cost will be quite heavy plus I would like to use my new unit asap ....thanks in advance

You are probley best not to use the charger if it dose not tern green as if its putting out power to the battery it may over charge them

You can use any Li-ion charger that charges 3.7V 18650 batteries. You can order one from DHgate.com or Fasttech.com for not much money and free shipping, but it will take up to a month or more to arrive. If you do, look for the fastest charging rate (higher mA output) and avoid the ones that support multiple battery sizes. They use movable contacts that are prone to failure and do not always make a solid contact, leading to poor charging performance. Many of them come with batteries that are higher capacity but aren't suitable for the FV, so don't decide based on the batteries.
