Agreed OF, maybe I should have read the rules properly.

If pakalolo or any other mod wants me to remove my post and comm by pm, I shall do that.

I was un-aware as to the private nature as such of the site and our guest status, although I was obviously aware that there would be someone somewhere that has obviously set the place up in the first place.

I agree that at times a strict hand needs to be raised from time to time to cut the BS that goes on and also to keep threads on track...but I also feel strongly on people almost commanding what can and cannot be discussed...but we won't go there as the points you raised above.

I agree that in months from now we will be far far away from this and on the road to tranquility...and I may even give the PM function you mention a go in the future....

I ain't flaming, trying to infuriate or anything akin to things like that....I would merely like to ask "Pakalolo, are you a dictator or something ?".

Now I actually agree with what you and other posters are saying about the marketing and pricing structure discussion....it has been discussed, well and truly....but it's your dictator style of commanding, "this needs to stop now" etc....that winds me up and I'm sure others too.

Now I'm sure I don't need to tell you, your only a moderator or similar here and not an all out ruler who can command his subjects at his whim...there may be something written into the rules of the forum that gives mod's here those powers, I'm unsure as I never gave them my full attention...sadly.

I also believe that most of us here live in a democracy of some sort and if someone wants to bring up the subject of TET's marketing/pricing yet again, then that's fine by me...even although it has been well and truly discussed.
I do believe that this forum is ran democraticaly and is partly for the purpose of asking questions and obviously it is then up to the wider community reading the thread wither the subject get's an answer or just dies a death...I think when someone comes in and commands another poster to stop now when, no rule of the community has been broken and no one is really getting upset is overstepping the mark.

Sorry pakalolo but I just felt something needed to be said.

OF summed it up pretty well but I just want to emphasize that it's my job here to step into a thread and tell people to stop posting off-topic. You can call it whatever you like, but I really don't think you'd like it if the moderators didn't moderate.

Also, there is no other thread here where this has to be done repeatedly, never mind that it got so bad that another thread was started to collect the rubbish. That's unprecedented.

Maybe you could post something useful and on topic info about the Thermovape Cera in your next post :)

.

Funny, I was going to post exactly that about your previous post but decided not to clutter this thread with more garbage.

Back to the regularly scheduled program of the Cera.

I am speculating from some info from videos and my own knowledge and use of titanium. I think the titanium cores will hold up the longest especially if torching them to clean. Time will tell if the titanium cores give a cleaner vaping experience then SS, will this difference be clear with the oil core? With the LL core? I do hope after the release of the Cera to see side by side comparison for taste and performance.

Has anyone heard anything about pricing or availabilty on the skins? Last thing I remember Noah was going to meet with the supplier a few weeks ago, but have not heard anything since.

I wouldn't torch the core if I don't have to, can a normal cleaning procedure like a T1 core do the job?

Great Scott!
Hey everyone,

I see that everyone is really anxious about getting their Cera's! Its not too far away from this first shipment going out!

We designed the pricing structure around the requests that we got the most people, and so far from the orders that have been coming in its showing that many people already have their own batteries and chargers.

Once we get orders caught up and have time to start setting up new products we are going to offer more individual components so that you will be able to build your own modular Cera out of any material you want. Could you imagine a carbon fiber, Birdseye maple and Titanium Cera......

We have been facing some hurdles getting some of the parts delivered in the time frame they were promised. We apologize for the prolonged shipment time and are trying our best to get the parts in the shortest amount of time as possible.

You are all very important to us, both new and existing customers. We are trying our best to get the best Cera in your hands!

Cheers,
Tim

Tim FUUUUUUUUUUUCK YOU!!!!!!! There is literally no way I can resist a carbon fiber cera. When I say no way...I mean NO WAY. Stop innovating god damn it. Is there any more info you can give on this? Carbon fiber cera = credit card purchase for me right away. Just when I was able to resist...and im back.

IIRC it was said the taste for the Ti core and the SS core were the same. A side by side by members would be great. Noah said the only difference was aesthetics and if you live by the ocean it will hold up better cause of the salt in the air.

SMELL it! Enjoy. It's like... God's vagina!
My frustration with TET's last post is the lack of timeframe given. I understand they're dealing with ALOT... but dec 10 came & went... then they said shipping before new years... and now... NOTHIN. Just delayed. Is there any expected timeframe now or is it all just in limbo?

Since were on the topic, I notice that with my titanium swing or nail after awhile oxidation occurs (which can be scraped off with wire mesh or some sorts) and other changes occur after numerous high temp burns the metal becomes color treated by the heat. I'd like to know how both type of metal carts can hold up the the ultimate cleaning standard they showed on the video, i.e the torching it red hot like a glowing nail. I can gather that most would happen is a cosmetic difference. I don't think anything will be metling inside that is. SS and TI will be more inert than the nickle brass in the darts and my darts taste damn good (never torch a revolution dart) I'm assuming your right Dreamer, no difference in taste. I live in humid climate so it will be an all ti cera for me after I see some maple burls in the mix :) Cheers, and remember people, patience is a virtue. Looking foward to FC reviews and action shots!

I was told by TET that they are avoiding giving a specific time frame at this point because they don't want to continuously let people down with missed expected ship dates. However, with that said they also estimated that most preorders will ship by New Year's.

I know he said that but he also admits to not doing high temp dabs like on a nail or skillet, if you do a dab off SS it will taste like Oil and metal, this is why titanium is used since it imparts little to nothing once seasoned. I can taste metal when I use a SS dabber and the dabber is only being exposed to high temps not actually getting that hot. So I don't know if under normal use the Cera cores are going to show these same characteristics with SS vs Titanium. I don't think I will risk it and get the titanium Cera or if I can get the SS Cera with a titanium oil core.

I suggest wait for the real FC people reviews and you will have your answer. I know a few did order the Ti cause they said it earlier in the thread. Time will give all the answers which I am waiting for as well. If this vape produces as advertised I will be very excited to see the mini next year. It will be a true pocket vape that is fast what more could a person want:).

mod note: And forums are not democracies, they're owned by someone and run the way the owners see fit.

Yeah don't worry harmudge I've been there before, this forum is so free and open it's nice to think of it like a real society but take it from me... you can't start a revolution against the admins, after all they pay the server bills! (or work for the person who does)

And they are a lot less strict then they could be so imo it's worth following their rules to be part of their community. :peace:

I highly doubt it will be an issue. Nails get a whole lot hotter than the body of Cera ever will. We use SS cookware at those temperatures all the time without issues related to the material and temperature.

Time will tell of course, but I do have it from a 'serious nail head' that the SS version (the only one that exists??) is 'just fine'. I had some trouble getting it back, in fact. He plans of sidelining his 'rig' when his Cera gets here, FWIW.

There's a million different styles/weaves they could use and it would be strong and light...

But carbon fiber is carbon strings encased in epoxy resin (glue like hard plastic), it must be just a sleeve I think, surly they wouldn't have bare cf touching hot metal?

I fully agree. What will be tough is to get a titanium core of each kind to try side by side with SS versions. I wish I had the $2k to be that person but my glass allowance won't let me, LOL.

Hey, long as we're spit balling here, what's with this "polycrystalline Zirconia" anyway? How about some single crystal? Also known as Cubic Zirconia. Not only would it be clear but you could tell the wife it's really diamond.......

Be tough to find a ring or broach to mount it in I guess?

So, how's it going?!...

:D

Wow, carbon fiber now! I dunno what for but that's quite some high degree of customization. I was thinking the manufacturer might manage to add some personal touch under the form of pre-selected decalcs or maybe just some handwriting mark, before the ceramic gets cured. How far is that going to take the Cera? Since it's pretty much indestructible it seems, why not just add glass and then we can start all over again!!

I think you will get the comparison from the California people. Some of them do see each other in rl and if worse comes to worse I am sure some can go to TET and do a comparison there. TET seems open to almost anything which is wonderful in my book. It also could be that OF's friend who is on this site as well IIRC will be a good tester for this since as OF said he is a nail head.

Actually two different friends (I have a spare at present.....), one is a self identified Forum Member (but not a nail head) the other is too shy to speak up (but is a nail head). I've also shown it to a few others but they're even more remote.

Not to worry, I bet real soon we'll have some fresh opinions based on testing to mull over....from folks we know and trust.

Food for thought...Our parents cooked with stainless steel and cast iron because that was what was available. We do not have that same limitation today and there is no reason we should cook with steel in 2013 and beyond. The cookware industry standard is changing away from SS right now and as consumers, we play a huge role in that shift. Titanium and ceramics are quickly becoming the preferred construction materials for modern, high-quality cookware and cutlery because even though stainless steal should not rust...leave something with a 1mm pit in the surface soaking in tap water+dawn for a week and see what happens. Rust R Us is what happens. There are other qualities of SS that leave room for improvement depending on who you're talking to. Woll makes a few Ti skillets for range-top cooking & Zojirushi makes plug-in electric skillets that are also Ti. I've yet to have any issues with my 2 Woll skillets, but they're only 3 months old. The ceramic knives I have been abusing for 6 months still perform and look new. They were also hundreds of dollars cheaper than my Wüsthofs.
