Discontinued The Grasshopper

Didn't hoppers originally ship without a charger, for those who wanted, and an external charger was recommended? What was the external charger they recommended?

@Ratchett tell us more about this new leather case you're selling for the Hopper! It's very tempting, though a bit pricey. And any chance you have close-ups of the sleeve and its different pockets? The ones on your site are a bit distant.

I've been using a Nitecore i4 for almost 3 months with no issues.

Is it safe to charge one battery? It says the i4 defaults at 750 mAh for one battery, which is the same amount as the Hopper battery, but the manual recommends charging 2 batteries at a time for smaller ones....

I don't know much of anything beyond voltage, and never learned about mAhs and how rechargables work.

Since I only have 2 at the moment it'd be nice to not have to charge the Hopper Labs battery with my Air's 18650 (which worked great by the way.)

@Ratchett I had a question about the doob tube on your website. With the dimensions of the tube and the dimensions of the Grasshopper, would it possible to pour your herbs directly from the tube into the Grasshopper chamber in order to load it? I'm really bad at loading my devices without spilling any product(I know you have a loading funnel for sale also but I'd prefer not have to carry that around with me too) so it would be cool if the tube is narrow enough to fit directly into the Grasshopper chamber so I could just tilt the tube as necessary to load. Even I couldn't mess that setup up!

Did you know that you can set the unit to 3, turn it on, hit it, and midway through your hit turn it up to 4 safely?

Caroline confirmed it. And holy crap it was fun to watch.

Ah, Caroline also confirmed that the ticking while on the charger is also normal, so no worries there.

Yes! I forgot to mention/investigate that I'd thought I'd noticed being able to adjust the temp mid flow. I haven't experimented with it more yet though.

And thanks for passing on the clicking noise confirmation.

As far as the niteore chargers go, I think the 4-bay models need to charge in pairs, but the 2-bay models will charge individual batteries even different types simultaneously. I'm pretty sure this is the case anyways.

My buddy left for family visits out of town, loaned me the Hopper

I haven't heard any clicking noise while charging. Odd that there are these nuances among devices.

Does the battery charge when NOT in the actual Hopper device? Like if you just had the battery snapped on (magnetized) to the Hopper's charger cap? Sorry if that's a dumb question, had to ask. I don't know shit about electrical type stuff.

The Doob Tubes diameter is 15.5 mm (0.61 inches). This is slightly bigger than the diameter of the Grasshopper - however in testing I found that I could easily load the hopper by resting the tube on the edge of the hopper and rotating the doob tube slowly (rotating encouraged the herb to gently roll out of the tube).

In practice, it worked better than I was expecting! It's not perfect, but for loading the vaporizer on the go, it worked pretty well

Haha, damn you guys are fast.

Yes! I'm happy to announce I have partnered with an old leather worker to make leather cases designed specifically for the grasshopper using real american leather. 100% made in america, it doesn't get more authentic than these cases.

The case is designed to hold one grasshopper, plus two spare batteries, a poker tool(s), and one doob-tube (included with the case). Additionally there's a slightly larger pocket for anything else. We wanted to make the case small enough so it can fit comfortably into your pocket, hence why there's no space for the charging cord.

I'm totally buying the Mini Spiral Stand, the Loading Funnel and now this beauty.

PS: can you make a golden color for the stand or funnel?

I do this exact thing with scooping herb in the Grasshopper and using the mouthpiece. Works wonders, possibly the easiest way to pack it.

Or for the price of a stainless Grasshopper you could have something like this made.

Holds 30 grams of tobacco (or what have you) comfortably along with a grasshopper, a couple of spare batteries, a dozen business cards, half a dozen credit cards, drivers license, half a dozen membership/discount cards, a couple of hundred in cash, a slim lighter, cigarette papers, filters, fold-able scissors, a flat fold-able knife, a half a hacksaw blade, a wire saw/Garrot and a note book/pad. But is not petite. (makes for a big bulging pocket)

I really like @Flyingcrocodile46's case, but it is just a bit overkill for me, I would never have a need for half that space
Yeah! i can certainly appreciate that it's overkill for many. The attraction is commensurate to the desire to have ALL of the assorted junk that it is designed to hold. For me it hits the spot perfectly.

The point of the post is more to highlight the advantages of personalising your case (if you have more junk that you could integrate into it). I can imagine lots of possibilities. Also, there is a whole other buzz to be gained by personalising your shit.

Does it have space for my waffle iron?
Lol No. But I did forget that it also holds a credit card desk lamp and a couple of small flat multi tool doohickeys, some toothpicks and half a dozen bandaids as well. ;-)

I'm sure that some of the many international craftspeople on Etsy could customise a bum bag or handbag for your grasshopper waffle iron needs.

I really like the mini king bubbler...looks almost just like my PNWT knock off. Though, really, if it only is non spill when turned upside down, as the site says, I can't see how it's better than my knockoff, because it's never leaked at all unless I turned it on a really extreme angle

Here is a really cheap option. I think cheap is good for on the go, if it breaks no big deal. I haven't yet received it so you are buying it without any guarantees from me.
