I know I've gone off on a tangent here ... but I am going in to great detail on how the Hopper truly is irreplaceable for the niche that it serves ... unless there is something else out there equivalent that I am not aware of ... (I don't think the dynavap is it ...)
Yeah, as someone who uses my GH and vapcaps like you do (big bong hits), I agree with your assessment for you. For me, one full hopper load through glass is absolutely the most I'd want to do in one sitting, but if that weren't the case there would be more loading and unloading than you'd want in the case of the vapcap. I haven't used good concentrates with the vapcap, though, and I suspect it might be a different story there, as you can load far more.
Aanyway. I've been following this thread without contributing to it for a while, thought I should change that now.
Regarding the couple of people a page or two ago who thought their Hoppers were great, but then were convinced that they should be greater, I can definitely sympathise. I had the same issue when I first got mine, and sent it back after about 6 months. It came back a bit better, but I still run it on 5 and I'm pretty sure it isn't as hot as others, based on the thickness of the vapor. That said, it's about where I'd want it, and while I can't get super thick hits through glass (even inhaling slowly), the hits I get are massive and I'm very satisfied indeed.
I'm currently tempted to pre-order the fancy new battery charger they have on offer. Partly because it's fancy, and partly to support the company. But it is pretty expensive for something that's very much non-essential, so I don't know.
On the theme of supporting the company, I do like very much that they're being more transparent about their backlog and processes. I know it annoys plenty of people, who have had really bad experiences, but they do seem to be going in the right direction. I just hope they can get the resources and expertise to rework the design to get something that's much more robust. Seeing the amount of time Dynavap have been putting into their induction heater design, despite the fact that it has evidently been "basically working very well" for months now, is quite a contrast. Whether Hopper Labs have the capacity to do the same with a V2 design, who knows, but I very much hope so.
