Discontinued The Grasshopper

Old & In the Way
Made a super stealth waterbongle setup. Downstem looks like the normal lip of the water bottle, but then you can just slip it into the hole and pour a small amount of water in it.

Holy SHIT. Grasshopper with water is wicked. Native is great but this is WILD.

Do I dare buy a PFE and some GHB2 batteries? Or sell the Hopper for a Haze Square... 100% conflicted
Nice "rig"! Though some purists will decry that it's not glass...
Keep the Hopper, get a PFE and be sure you have a spare vape for when Hopper is down. My answer to that is a second Hopper and a Mighty.

Plastic?

HAKUNA MATATA!!
I just got my hopper back since December 2017 .... and thats 1 out of 3 I have send back + a new one I bought for a gift back when a 30% discount was running....

Yes it is working....
They were Friendly enought this time to gift me some batteries for the trouble...
Caroline is not working for them anymore... Godbless...
The main body I got is prob a refurbished one (not mine) cause there are some marks/burned spots on it... not I could care more after having it back half year later.

But yes clearly something went terrible bad for them or alot of things together the last year... lets hope the hopper doesn`t fail before they are back on their 2 legs.

Just a tip: If your hopper ever goes from red straight to blue and stay cold.... before you ship it back dive it into ISO up to the air holes.... for some hours... blow it dry with high air pressure canned/compressed AND THEN HIT IT HARD WITH FROND END DOWN ON YOUR DESK LIKE HAAARD... rtepeat the hitting till it is working :)

Fixed a friends main body issue and it is working great for 3 months so far.

Hey, quick question:
If I connect the usb charger to an electricity plug and then to a 220v socket ( European) will that work or do I need an adapter for 110v ?

Some quick observations about my RMA'd SS Hopper received yesterday.

- received in a brand new box. No serial number. Same battery as before I assume.
- arrived with several more scratches. Doesn't really bother me but it would have if it were a Ti model.
- vapor production at 3.5- 3.7 is great for native use. Good clouds and way better flavor than I remembered.
- 3.8 and above gets too warm for my comfort when using it native, especially when taking multiple short draws. I find the PFE doesn't help make it any cooler so I've decided to use the the normal mouthpiece with silicone tip for out and about.
- 4.5 - 5 is money for water use. Very glad that it still works for one hit extractions through a bubbler. Got me very toasty last night.
- button works the same as before. I remember hearing something about it having changed. Nothing new here.
- still a little hard to turn the dial. but not too gritty.
- getting two to three packs per battery with mixed use;native and through water. Seems to be more efficient with battery life. Will have to do some more research.
- blue flickering lights when drawing even with a fresh battery. I'm using a Nitecore D4 and probably won't use the usb charger this time around.

My replacement SS unit has mad flickering blue lights since I received it end of last week ... it's performed admirably apart from that though every time I've used it! So that's good! Flickers like a son-of-a-bitch, but hits like a champ ... that's a compromise I can live with (and yes I've tried cleaning all contacts, different batteries, etc.)

My replacement Ti unit performed very poorly out of the box ... so batting 50% here ... although I have a spare semi-functional Ti unit, and after swapping it's back-end onto the replacement body, it's vaped 2 bowls without issues (vs. all bowls having issues in that unit to-date).

Not as stellar a report-back as I'm sure everyone was hoping for ... but all things considered, although not perfect, this is the best result of an RMA I've had in over a year ... (by far)

Edit: Make that 3 bowls without issues w/ the Ti one (w/ the old back-end ... although it was a "new version" back-end at the end of 2017 ... so perhaps I just got unlucky with the replacement unit in that it has a bad back-end? ... here's for hoping :) )

The bowl I just had in the Ti one was with a dab of Sour OG rosin wrapped in some Japanese organic cotton, and it was awesome! (would have finished it in 1 hit, but ran out of lung capacity :) ... that's what a Hopper is supposed to be like! ... had a 2nd half hit to polish it off, and when I unwrapped the cotton after taking it out, there was no stickiness in it ... vaped 100%)

PFE doesn't help make it any cooler

This doesn't surprise me as the PFE is more about opening up airflow so if anything I'd expect it to produce hotter vapor but it's intended use is with a water tool.

Sounds like you are having a good experience though overall so that's encouraging.

button works the same as before.

This is a shame, I was expecting RMA's to get the replacement backends that don't require a double click to re-engage the power if the auto shutoff kicks in.

still a little hard to turn the dial. but not too gritty.

Did they even replace the backend? Does it have a different serial #?

arrived with several more scratches. Doesn't really bother me but it would have if it were a Ti model.

I have a Ti I need to send in and it's body is in mint condition, when I do get round to sending it in I'll be taking a pic of it before shipping and including it with a note stating I expect it back in the same condition it was sent, i.e. no scratches. They either should be able to achieve that or need pushing to a process that can achieve that as damaging a product during an RMA is unacceptable to me even if it is just aesthetics.

Thanks for the feedback bud.

I currently have 4 messages to HL about my GH. One in April, two early this month, and one more this morning. Hopefully someone finally gets back to me. I'm willing to wait till next July for the charger, because the way they work it's likely going to take that long. But since I have plenty of decent ways to charge batteries, I'll wait. I just want my hopper back, and to the right address.

At this point I believe HL prints out all the warranty messages and throws darts at the wall to see who will get a reply next.
Comes out to 200 and change USD with international shipping. Cheaper than hopper labs and you'll get it quicker from Europe than you will from Colorado.

Are you getting the auto responder message that your email was received? It states that you should get a reply to your email within 2-5 business days. If you aren't getting that email, I don't think you'll ever get an answer.

@Cheesequake I wanted one but this wait would have killed me. It's my first GH and I'm still waiting on a HT PFE with supposedly shipped same day.. still waiting but maybe they don't mail orders out on Saturday? Which doesn't make a lot of sense

I must say it's been 3 days with the gh and a couple charges on the xtar and everything seems to be going great so far!

For those adding messages to current rma requests which for me went unheard as well should try emailing support instead. After reaching out via support my rmas have finally shipped. This tells me that somehow adding messages were not being read or received and somehow my hopper was out of order (they received early December sent at the end of November) as rmas sent well after mine were being returned. Happy to finally be hopping again soon or at least looking forward to it.

Email everyone possible at least once a day. Surprising how effective this method is, though not fully unfortunately
