Fickedy fuck fuck

Really annoying that we need to send in a battery with it

So my hopper got stopped by USA customs but made it safely to them some days later

Now I know it's getting shipped back because I got a call FROM THE BLOODY CANADIAN CUSTOMS !!!

What happened after the gif? Is she still there to this day?

I have only ever sent my hoppers back without the battery as it'd have to go by sea (from Aus) otherwise.
It's never been an issue. Last time I sent them back without mouthpieces either.

Both of mine will be heading back this week as they're both dead.

I did get to try a different hopper the other day with an anodised blue PFE. It had already been scratched a heap, it's only a month old or so.
Still looked nice, but I'm happy with my plain metal PFEs

She is one with Wallmart now!

Yah I will then send in the hopper next time without battery

Also I got the SS and glad I did but I don't mind the scratches, this time though the hopper is in repairs because I literally accidentally threw it at the pavement

It slipped from my hand and instead of catching it I just gave it more momentum by "volleyballing" it into the ground :o

Glad it's on the way back

Sucks you got two hoppers and both are dead :\

IMO Hopper deserves some credit here, their warranty even covers users volleyball spike moves! :ko:

Not many other companies will warranty a dropped unit/unit suffering from user damage.

Yep

I read maybe 30 subs on this forum and hopper labs is faaaaarrrr from a bad company

Actually in my books pretty high up on the list

Been fucked over by ASICS for their overpriced and under quality running shoes and same for rebook and Nike

Basically don't last me a year worth of regular running on paved roads

HTC phone company also screwed me over so badly I tried to fight them an lost

And these are multimillion dollar mega companies that can't even do good to their customers

While folks deal with tiny vape companies spending meeker sums and expecting to be treated like they bought a million dollar vehicle

Hopper labs does things in such an admirable way that I wonder if they can keep that game up

Life time warranty for porcelain statues does not sound like a good business plan :D

Though hopper is far from fragile

Well Mr Hop only lasted a week on the dot.
This morning during my morning ritual I loaded up and turned on the hopper and the lights immediately turned blue....on heat setting 4, I thought this was weird so I pulled a little bit and to my despair no heat what so ever.
So I think it may be the battery (tried all 5), cleaned the threads, Made sure heater screen was clean (its only a week old nothing there), nothing...KIA
The only weirdness that occurred was last night I spun the power button a few degrees when unscrewing the top and noticed the lights came on for a sec which i thought was weird because I could have sworn the button turned before with no problems. But it was working fine at the time so I thought nothing of it.
I have only charged using the on board charger maybe 4 times ever since getting the hopper and have been using external ever since.
I used it daily with no issues dry and wet on temps 3.5-5 and it performed most excellently until this morning unfortunately.
Contacted GH and will see what they say, I'm going to insist on shipping it back so everything is tested and in working order.
Sad day but not the end of days as I have plenty of other vapes but I was very happy with the performance and the efficiency of the Hopper whilst she lasted

For anyone that hates having to send in your grasshopper to the US from Canada I have some good news. I was speaking with a Canadian vaporizer vendor and they said Hopper Labs is going to have a facility in Canada to handle Canadian warranty claims soon. I have no idea when this is happening but it sounded like it was pretty soon. I am personally holding off a little on getting a Hopper until I can send it in for warranty in Canada.
I asked the Canadian Hopper rep about this and he said a facility is a ways away but Canadian retailers are now doing parts warranty/exchanges. If you bought direct from Hopper, depending on the warranty issue you may still have to send it back to them but most likely not. Dependent on available parts and specific colour ways.

Speaking of colours, ice pink anyone??

Damn sucks with just a week :ugh:

But your attitude is just right for the hopper life  let's hope the next one at least goes 4-6 months!

I feel like I could happily send it in every year because all the nice updates and such

But a week is a bit on the short side

Yeah it is quite weird, I had no drops, water, or left in cold overnight oopses with the hopper so I am also curious as to what happened.
I didn't even have time to use it other than at home I only took it to a friends once. Maybe all those clouds ripping through H2O on temp 5 killed its poor little heater before its prime haha

@Robob there may be a couple remedies you can try while waiting for your warranty to be processed. Def sounds like your heater and/or your sensors are malfunctioning. The straight to blue can sometimes be fixed with a blast of air or vacuum through the intake holes and chamber. I've had a unit that went straight to blue but when turned off then on again it would do the normal heat up and it would function normally. Obviously you want to get it fixed and you will but in the mean time it might be worth a try.
Curious, does your timer still work or does the blue light stay on past the 18 second mark?

Nah should be no problem, I have never been gentle with my hopper except my basic hopper rules

1. Never leave hopper on a bubbler/bong/watertool right after hitting so the water pushing back won't push hot air/vapor back into hopper
2. Always empty after use and never leave load inside (specially fine grind)
3. Remember rule nr 1

Otherwise I used mine daily in and outside with multiple loads a day always on 4,5 or 5 and lasted me 2-12 months (first 2-3 and second 12)

It will turn itself off after the time out still. I had read about blowing through the intake but I only tried with a little can of compressed air. I do have an air compressor at work I could try some higher PSI....will update later

UPDATE: So at work we have an industrial compressor w/desiccant air dryer at around 100 PSI so I took that and blew into the Intake holes with a blo-gun and spun the hopper to get them all....
Nothing.... still blue lights / no heat.

So i figured F-It. Its going to be sent in for warranty anyway so I shot the air up in the hopper the "wrong" way into the bowl and... NOW IT WORKS! Seems that the can of compressed air I had tried at home didn't have enough pressure to free the debris.

But I am still leary as to wether it was just some fine debris in there or something else is up...I feel that a "torture test" is in order, the question is who will pass out first me or the vape???
In all seriousness I have updated HL and asked for their opinion if I should still send it in or just keep ripping it and see what happens.

Thanks to all the fellow Hopper enthusiasts for the help!

Soooo…. I'm back with you Hopperheads, bought a new one at a local store. Xmas Bonus came in early, and I got hopes for a more consistent quality. And then there's the memory of what Hoppy does, that no other does. Highest efficacy of all portable unites I ever saw and still very efficient as well. The SBJ is great but handling that torch is not really for me in the long term.

I noticed the clip is much tighter attached to the body than earlier, also I noticed, it does not heat anymore while touching the button, unless you really click the button down and get that "click" sound. The two backends I had before would start the heating once the button is just down a little bit without clicking it. It was a little more convenient that way but I always thought that's not really great when you're traveling, which I always saw as a flaw. So this is an improvement in my book.

I hope it's more reliable, some 9,000 units later. I had a 2000-ish serial # at first, which got replaced by a 3000-ish, now it's close to 12,000. I have a working replacement for on the spot hardcore clouds up my sleeve (the Sticky Brick), so I'm prepared, and a general failure of Hoppy will not leave me as high and dry as when I lost my first one. And it's just great to have it back. Nobody does it better…

I would suggest taking the battery out if your unit is not in use. It sounds similar to my unit. It would turn on way too easily then it wouldn't turn on at all eventually. Mine would randomly turn on when not using it. You may not be having that issue exactly. The fact that your unit turns on easily it may turn on when not intended.

I sent my unit back a couple months ago. It's working perfectly now. I recieved a whole new unit, it looked like.

I've probably put it too long and complicated (like I usually do). That was with my old Hopper which I got rid of a couple months ago. My new one only heats up if I really click down the button, as I feel it should be.

My 4th hopper just died within one year. Same as last time. Redlihgt never stops and turns to blue until burning - used it only wiht 10 - 15 bowls......fuck it!
that is just freaking crazy!! Did hopper get you a brand new one or repaired same unit over and over?

Sry @Hogni to ask but how fine or coarse is your grind?

Maybe try using it with whole nugs just to check out if there is any difference?

Also I am sorry assuming you are doing something wrong, it's more about finding a pattern with people's use and let-down of their hoppers

My last last repair was after using very dry and near powdery grind

Think that killed the hopper in a single bowl

@Hogni you deserve better!!!

Let me break out the guitar
and play some "kumbaya" for you

Nothing like a oily sexy sex orgy with The seekers playing over loud speakers

Puff the magic dragon.. Lalala

Hogni

Honi soit qui mal y pense
Nothing against a sexy sex orgy but "Kumbaya"????

Different grinded, mostly medium coarse. The new hopper was only used with medium coase herbs
No way, that's is my fault. As I've said just 10-15 bowls.

Yeah don't think any grind consistency should kill a vaporizer but just wanted to ask because I am stumped over how unlucky you are with the hopper

But then again your not really the only one because been some before with amazing amount of returns

Just thought that time had passed :nope:

Edit
Kumbaya can be incredibly sexy if just song ... slow

Edit edit
Love how you can just make any stupid joke and Google always has your back in the end .. Enjoy

I had 4 replacements in an even shorer time than you. Literally the only thing keeping me from ordering a hopper right now is the fact that I know it will have to be sent in at some point and I don't want to deal with it. I'd absolutely love to have one again just don't feel like dealing with the hassle.
