This is the quote I missed yesterday with which I totally agree. The way you feel about the Grasshopper is the same way I feel about the mivape and the Elo (so far, I'll try your super fine grind fully packed chip method
@Just Justin). They are both interesting vapes that like a great restaurant, someone will love! The difference between what I would say is a stand out vaporizer is that with the grasshopper, if you have a properly working one, you can be sure if you like it or not, unlike the Elo for example where I'm not sure I like and even though it is, I wasn't even sure it was working right (I believe that it is, I think I just don't like it and not ready to admit it yet). Anyway glad to found a home for yours and welcome to the party
@Vapetrees! I would try to get a warranty on that unit though, Matt and Trevor are very serious about getting defective units out of circulation and replaced with properly working ones, which from a marketing perspective I totally get. When your product is new and the shit when working awesome, you don't want someone trying a half broken one thinking that's all there is.
Months ago I stopped in and I hadn't even noticed my grasshopper had a backend problem. It was slight but when I was there just to stop in, they wanted to test my unit, discovered the error and replaced it after I said I'd be willing to keep it till it breaks. Again I don't know what/if they have a reseller policy but they are aiming for 100% of the customers that stick with them to be not just happy but enthralled with the GH.
One thing I do think about having various vapes is that like smoking each is its own experience that is valuable in its own rite (I meant that spelling).
For example as a cigarette/joint/spliff smoker, it would make sense that the form factor of the grasshopper is compelling as it is familiar.
I realize now that the reason I liked but don't love the firefly is because I'm not really into smoking bowls either, I don't even own one I realize (which will change TODAY because I'm having a party later).
Bongs on the other hand TRES SEIS! which is why I'm loving the vivape2 with the the aquavape attachment. But my mivape and Elo may need to find a new home, if for no other reason to scratch my FF2 itch. Now i simply have too many vapes! lol
Ok this may explain why I have been noticing better battery life. I figured it had something to do with being in the car a lot last few days so having a charger accessible because I haven't had to change a battery in almost a week, but I think it's because I don't click it off between draws anymore.
Next time I'm at GHL I'll ask about it, it would make sense that like old light bulbs it takes as much energy to start it as running it all day. The theory is anecdotally supported by comparing my usage to my buddy skiing last Saturday. I cringed as he just sat there talking letting the grasshopper run between hits in the freezing cold but sure enough I had to change my battery midday and his lasted till we got back to the car ..... hmmmm
