I've been using my nitecore, default charger does work in the car.

Edit:
I do however have a power inverter for my car so I can plug in my actual charger.

I guess I have been charging the batteries wrong then, I have been using the USB hub on my PC just like my E-cig batteries. Opps

Yeah, so the session extender is a requirement. The metal itself is too hot to touch your lips after a few higher level heatups.

I think you are good for about 6 hits on 5 before you'll want the extender, you can keep going without it but its hard to keep your lips pressed on bowl temp metal.

That's subjective, I ONLY use mine for bong rips. I've had at least 20 people (probably more, but 20 that spent a decent amount of time with the GH) in that sample set no one ever asked for the extender and heat would come up as a conversation topic everyonce in awhile.

I would also recommend the extendr since you can use it for bong rips, as for individual use, it will be up to you, everyone has different lip sensitivity but on balance I think more people don't need it for "ordinary usage" Definied as: Unit operating properly, using it by yourself (read you are just taking hits from it, other people if they are present either have their own device or use the GH at a different time) and just trying to get high.

The assumptions I make to arrive at MY definition of ordinary is my usage and experience were the consumers have in general been heavy consumers who both vape and smoke but in general smoke. (I in general vape and specifically with the GH but my friends for the most part still smoke.)

So you'll see for yourself but don't let speculation on heat which is up to the individual user prevent you from TREATIN YO SELF to the best vape available. My GH is my faily driver, I have it set to 3.6 (Tres Seis) and taking nice slow long rips (you can take ANY kind of draw you want, I'm not saying long and slow is "best" just that's where I gravitated too) without the extender now. When I'm home however I usually finish the bowl by cranking it up to 5 and using a bong, usually 2 great big rips left after 10 or so on 3.6. :science:

That video was cool, I didn't know they had stickers now! Also using the tip to scoop bud up is clever! Nice tip! ... hehe see what I did there?

I was speaking about native, there shouldn't be an issue of the hot lip dance when not connecting it to your lips. Also mentioned higher level heat ups is the cause of this. I start at 5 and finish at 5. Obviously its not huge requirement but you're gonna want it for extended native sessions within a short time period. I also did the straw/vacuum method to load the mouthpiece, didn't exactly scoop it in there.

I don't know if previous builds ran cooler but ALL my Ti units are warm after one hit on 5, after 3 hits the metal feels like it will burn. On the fifth hit I actually just tested if I keep the bowl end on my skin like my arm or hand it burns. ..Its been about 4 minutes and I held the end at two different spots and they still sting of being burned. They also make my brown skin appear reddish where it happened. I didn't hold it longer because I didn't want a burn mark. Its more tolerable on your lips but that was just 6 hits I had back to back.

Only the bowl end gets hot, for clarification.

20 minutes no longer am I bothered by the sting but the spots are still red.

EDIT:
3 Hours later.. It looks like a red burn mark now, in shape of the mouthpiece. Will probably stay for a while and fade away within a couple days.

How else would you charge it? They only send out a USB cable, no?
Just about any 2.0usb to 110/120 volt wall adaptor should work. Like one from a cell phone charger. They're usually rated at .5 to 2amp output. Walmart carries them and the one for a 12 volt auto outlet to usb.

I finally got around to throwing together that quick video of grasshopper cotton dabs that I promised a while back. The first half is the main show, the second half is a low temp hit that came out real nice on the camera.

Filming without a tripod is difficult, especially when you have to do 3 takes… Sorry that the ambient noise level is a little high. Also sorry that I completely failed at catching the exhale! Hopefully the video entertains anyways.

The GH sure does look great with the orbiter. I need to read some reviews on that bad boy, might just have to pick one up for a pairing!

wow so you don't even really need the silicone mouthpiece to adequately pair with the orbiter!?

It mates with 14mm female GonG just fine, but you might not find the glass-on-metal sound and sensation to be the most pleasant. I used it with the silicone heat shield for a while, but then I got to enjoying how connecting the grasshopper natively allows it to stand on its own and lets you vape hands free.

It does tend to stick a bit, but a gentle twist and wiggle pops it out every time. I do worry a bit about thermal expansion/contraction and getting it jammed in there, but it hasn't come close yet. I suppose if you really wanted to use the Orbiter as a full-time stand for the 'hopper, you could pre-treat the joint with wax to remove risk? It would probably get rid of the minor sticking too.

I received my Hopper on Mon. and noticed a small bit of current when I turned the dial with my teeth. Kinda like when you touch a 9V battery to your tongue tingle. The reason I was doing it that way is because I'm a Quadriplegic. By the way I'm really liking it..
Now for the details:
Received it, was totally overjoyed, used it one session normally then only red lights when turned on Boo. So later started clicking it on/off finally got blue heating light after 6-8 clicks then red/blue lights of death. Bummer. So contacted GHL about new back end. Then it magically healed itself and started working after doing the 6-8 clicks about 20x.
Now it is working fine but Trevor is sending a new SS back end to replace this one.
Update: Got the replacement body today. Seems as though my failure was due to the body being bad, not the entire back end. Happy Hopping Again :)

I have a DMM (Digital Multimeter), I'll be checking out some of the electrical properties of the unit. I can't just let your tooth have all the fun! Sort of hoping I get a faulty unit just so I can see how bad it is.

It gets better.

MF just announced Orbiter glass featuring colored "stained glass" down stems, available now as replacement glass to Connoisseur's Club members and available to all as a full Orbiter kit with stand and whips. The kits pair glass color to wood species, with prices ranging from $82 to $102.

All the better to match your titanium Grasshoppers, of course:

Don't the orbiters have a restricted air flow ? I always wondered this as it looks nice to add to my collection but I am not a fan of glass I have to pull hard with .

So I am extremely interested in buying one of these guys. Short of screening each page, however, i couldn't find anything on what people's view on metal toxicity is.
My first instinct is to just go for the stainless steel especially since the price is right. Titanium is cool but I don't really know if it is safe to smoke/vape out of. Sure, they have medical and food grade titanium, but I don't think it was intended to be heated up. Does anyone actually know for sure if titanium is non toxic when heated?
This goes double for anodized metal. It's twice as cool, but I'm also twice as uncertain if anodized titanium is safe to heat.
