Battery is pretty unimpressive, I used two fresh batteries today one for herb (gray), the other eliquid (bronze) both batteries died around the same time probably 3 minutes after eachother.

I used them on my way to work and home for my lunch, its a 10-12 minute drive of switching back and forth with both units. I'm obviously set in the Hopper and battery area but that is pretty disappointing I can go through two batteries in 20 minutes.

Eliquid on 5, gray was at 2 for the ride to and 3 and 5 on the way back.

I can't wait to do some videos.

Yeah even the 14500s that thermovape used for their low voltage evolution cart died dramatically and quickly. On the upside they should charge a bit quicker...

I don't understand though, how did @BuzzDanklin and his roommate get like 30+ good rips before the battery died? Because that amount would last me more than one day.

@slcbdco how's your battery been? How many good rips are you getting per full charge?

Do you ever notice the backend of your hopper getting hot/warm? I'm starting to suspect that poor battery performance is linked to defective backends (Perhaps some sort of short is causing the batteries to discharge slowly?)

I really hope this is a problem with the unit shorting out somewhere and using up the battery otherwise that totally sux!!

I received my Hopper on Mon. and noticed a small bit of current when I turned the dial with my teeth. Kinda like when you touch a 9V battery to your tongue tingle. The reason I was doing it that way is because I'm a Quadriplegic. By the way I'm really liking it..
Now for the details:
Received it, was totally overjoyed, used it one session normally then only red lights when turned on Boo. So later started clicking it on/off finally got blue heating light after 6-8 clicks then red/blue lights of death. Bummer. So contacted GHL about new back end. Then it magically healed itself and started working after doing the 6-8 clicks about 20x.
Now it is working fine but Trevor is sending a new SS back end to replace this one.

I think the battery life is pretty good considering its size and heat output, its a tiny battery but it puts out the same and more heat than the Mighty. I generally get 25-35+, 5-10 second rips per battery which is equal to like 3-5 chambers or more depending on how much I put in the chamber and how I inhale.

Battery is life is ok. Not awesome but with an extra battery I am never completely without a GH but if there is one aspect I would criticize its battery. That said, changing the battery is pretty easy so I find that I care less about it and 2 batteries is usually enough to get me through an outing for the day. Also I noticed a difference in battery life between pre and post backend issue so that could be an issue.

I generally use the GH during the day to maintain, I probably take 8-10 rips per bowl, about 2 bowls per hour (a bowl being about a pinch or two) and I change the battery once every 1.5 -2 hours.

I don't know about my battery life yet, the battery that is in it now has 3 five draw sessions on it. A normal day for me. And battery life is not an issue with 2 extra batteries
What Most Impressed me so far is how little product I'm using compared to combustion. I'm only putting in a pinch, once per session for the day. Then vaping the gold left from the 3 sessions for first session the next day. 25% savings sounds good to me. Will pay for itself soon.
And by pinch I mean the little measuring spoons Pinch, Dash, and Smidgen. Pinch - 1/16 tsp

Edit: This battery lasted 4 sessions so Battery lasts approx 20-25 draws at setting 4. Will see if new back end makes any difference next week

On my unit I have figured out its the body causing my issue. The purple clicker works on gray so I will be getting just a new body.

@Ratchett @Likes2vape its hard to notice a hot back end with the super hot front end. Before it pooped out I was going hard on 5. Swapped in a new battery it worked for a bit then stopped giving me vapor, I will say the unit was pretty hot before it conked out. I have had the same battery performance with all 3 different backends and 6 batteries. So far today I have gone through 4 batteries.

Battery is definitely fine for what it is nothing amazing like they originally expected. Based on battery pricing its good. I agree you can get 1-5 sessions from one battery depending on your play style.

So they're still sending out faulty units. I wonder if they assembled it before they told us in their update, that they fixed this issue. Are they already shipping the "improved" Hopper versions or still the "old" ones?! I just wish there'd more consistency between devices.

Have to agree since some are going to other countries.
Well at least I got this one working it was #GS000174. Trevor did say it was a failure of the welding process when I sent an explanation of what I did. One week turnaround for new body is not bad. Had this one completely failed I would have been Pi**ed

Color sure appears to have been a huge draw for the GH initial sales success ... I do wonder if this launch would have still succeeded and been less painful having only ti and ss models. A colorful v.2 with mix-n-match would be enough to encourage another launch.

If it's hard to notice then I don't think you have an issue there. In my experience with bad dials, the heat has always been instant and uncomfortable on heat level 5, and always concentrated in one spot on the clip/ring/dial.

With the semi short battery life, I wonder when there will be a charger and a car charger available? Has anyone heard? If i had 4 batteries I think I would be set. Do the batteries hold their charge when not in use, say over a weeks time? Maybe nobody know that question yet.

Good luck and happy vaping with your new GHs. Be sure to report back your experiences after a week or two.

I've been using my nitecore, default charger does work in the car.

Edit:
I do however have a power inverter for my car so I can plug in my actual charger.

I doubt the average car lighter plug has the GHL recommended safety rating (whatever that is) or the required circuit protection to prevent overcharging of the Li batteries. I wouldn't recommend it as you might end up killing batteries prematurely without the required circuitry protection. (plus they can explode and or cause venting)

Hey Carol :)

The GH batteries should pretty much be fine if stored fully charged for a matter of a few weeks or so.

Long term storage of charged Li-ion batteries (storing fully charged batteries for a period of a month or more) is likely to shorten their lifespan as oxidation of the lithium ion will be happening at it's very highest rate.

So ultimately, GH batteries should be fine kept fully charged, as long as you use your Hopper fairly frequently and keep your batteries in rotation.

Have a great weekend folks!

:D
