Whatever jet lighter or torch you get . .don't get crappy Butane. I bought a can of Ronson because it was available, cheap and the Vapcap doesn't require you to inhale the butane .. but it did make a blue-ish/purple soot all over the cap - even though I mostly kept the direct flame off it.

I don't really care at all . . but if you do, don't use Ronson. Don't use Ronson, anyway. . just because. It doesn't fill that well and gunks up the torch, too.

Did the bluish purple soot rub off or is it stuck on? If it's stuck that's the oxide layer on the stainless steel and has nothing to do with the butane and everything to do with how your flame chemistry is adjusted and how hot you're getting the cap.

I'm BLOWN AWAY by the performance of this OmniVap.

I actually put my Evo away - I have it setup on my coffee table in my office; the OmniVap and the Dynastash and my torch (soon to be my Pipes Jarhead heater) can exist on my desk, so I don't even have to get up anymore...I can be even more lazy. The vapor's not as tasty and there is not as much of it, but it's so convenient and easy!
.
I used to say that my Ti Woody VC doesn't taste as good as my session vapes but I realized its an illusion. When you load an electronic session vape with 0.25 and fire it up, you're tasting that entire quarter gram of terps all at once. I have my VC set on the smallest chamber (roughly 0.04), and most of the time I load it with even less than .04 -- a tiny fraction of what I'm used to with my session vapes. That's far less terps to go around, however the taste is just as pure on the first few hits. Sure it goes out the window much faster but that's not the VC's fault, that's just the nature of very small loads.

But if you have the VC chamber on the biggest setting and jam-pack it with ground herb, the flavor and cloud density rivals those session vapes as long as you're heating it right. Flavor still won't last as long b/c it's not a quarter gram, but my golly does it come close while it lasts.
So I think my VapCap is coming tomorrow and unfortunately my butane torch isn't arriving until Friday. I will have to either use a BBQ lighter or a BIC instead. Which of these two would you guys recommend? Also I've heard 2 differing opinions on using a BIC.. one one hand I heard you gotta bury it into the yellow of the flame and on the other hand I heard you're supposed to put it right above the blue.
Just go to a smoke shop and get a cheap torch with some not-cheap, reputable butane. My $8 twin flame torch is my new favourite lighter.

I'm in the middle of a week-long trip and I decided to take my new vapcap as my only device. It's performed remarkably well in lots of different situations.

In the passenger seat of a car, it's great. Very discreet.

Others are intrigued by it - for newbies, you need to heat it for them and tell them to draw hard. I showed it to 3 people so far . .don't think we have any converts, lol.

It's hard to combust the herb but it's possible . .and if you do you immediately lose all stealth. So, if that's a factor then be careful!

It works great for extended sessions. I just use my shirtsleeve when handling the hot cap. I actually think it works much better once it's a bit warmed up . .although you can compensate for that with heating technique.

For these purposes, I'll call the end of the cap with the clip/scraping tool on it "the bottom" and the tip "the top". The cap heats up much more slowly from the bottom vs the top. If you heat the top only, you get a weak hit. If you heat the very bottom only, you combust. The "trick" is to figure out where to heat it. Now that I have a feel for it I can get the exact hit I want most of the time. I can also sense that it's taking too long and to move the flame closer to the tip to avoid combustion. I find I like it good and roasted . . not black, though. If I feel like I didn't get all the herb, I'll reheat it just from the tip end. It's usually not worth a second re-heat, imo . .unless the first hit was really weak and/or you are trying really hard to conserve.

I have the glass one but it's really pretty safe as long as you keep it in the tube when not using it. I put back in the tube as soon as I hear the cool-down click and the tube hasn't melted or anything.

That's all for now . .I really like this vape. It could definitely serve as my primary vape. I want to get the wood one. It's a really cool design ... and I understand r&d and supply and demand (meaning you have to charge more because you're not selling a million of them) and all that . .but I'm still kind of stuck with the $80 one-hitter thing. I'm not sure I'll be able to get over it. If I do, though, I know I'll be happy with a Ti Woody. We'll just see how long the glass one lasts me and go from there.

Oh no - not coming off. I guess that means it's not soot . .sorry. It looks like my propane camping stove. I assumed it was because of the fuel . .I don't use good fuel in my camping stove, either, lol.

I do get the cap nice and hot . .and I'm impatient. My goal is to "almost" burn the herb. If I could somehow sense or time it . .I'd want to stop a split-second before popcorn taste occurs. I just like it that way.

I'd mostly agree with you, but what I would say is that I'm comparing a sub $100 vape (let's just value the mechanism itself...just because I have a super fancy one doesn't mean you can't get this performance from a woody), to my $450 Evo with a bubbler and all that. It's not apples to apples. I only compare because I have both available. I am definitely 'settling' when using the VapCap, but it's so much easier and simpler and quicker. The true test will be when my new @Winegums body comes and I run it through water. THENNN, it might be a closer comparison.

Mine's all burned up too. I give it two seconds after click. Single hit extractions are choice.

I can't wait to hear what you think about the body. I don't even have an Omni condenser to test out my pieces with so you'll be the first to see it as a complete OmniVonG. Make sure you use a lubricant like bee's wax on the o-rings as the fitment is tight. A bit of wax on the wood will keep it shiny as well.

I absolutely love my vapcap through glass, it's another level of comfort beyond the already smooth vapour.

I feel ya. I still love sessioning w/ e-vapes, so the VC by itself didn't cure my VAS...but my VAS is cured with the VC in the rotation. It fills a need of mine that is absolutely never going away and it's a joy having a manual vape that comes so close to the experience of lighting a blunt.

My "session vape" is a Sticky Brick Hydro Brick maxx . .which I usually use without the water pipe . .just out of convenience. I would say the flavor is notably better in the SB vs the DC. Of course the SB has a way bigger bowl and surely that's part of it . .but it also has a longer air path, more time for the vapor to cool. I feel like the bigger surface area of the herb exposed to heat in the SB also makes a difference . .but I don't know. With the VC, I'm getting a hot, quick hit . .and that's why I love it. I can do 3 big snaps off the VC and feel as high as if I smoked 3 big bong rips. And then just put it in my pocket. It doesn't have tubes connected to it, or wires, I don't have to sit at a desk to use it, etc.

I'm a newb with both the VC and the SB so these are really just my first impressions - could change as I gain mastery with each device.

Hell yeah, lol.

U can replicate that situation easily. Single torch hitting the very bottom of the the cap about where the "A" in DYNA is. It'll take a while to click, but your clouds will be dense from the very first draw. Be warned, it takes u to the edge of combustion but that seems like ur thing:cool:

Hey guys I'm working on some slim steel core stems that will fit a dynastash. This is the first one out of Claro Walnut. The contrast between the heart wood and sap wood is defined by a natural outline. Let me know what you think!

I like the feeling on my Omni of the mouthpiece getting hot, the hit getting really hot, and then carbing it slightly to bring some more cool air in and cool things down and keep ripping.

I think this is the most 'enjoyable' vape I own in terms of ritual. It feels the most like I'm smoking weed. I don't mean combusting but like, the activity of smoking pot, like when I was a kid. The Evo and Volcano are so sterile, so safe, so medical - you put the flower in somewhere and wait, and then kinda breathe in and it's whatever. Hitting the VapCap when it's really hot is like, yes, I am smoking pot right now.

I would also admit that mastering twirling the VapCap as you torch it and being able to get a massive rip with dark brown ABV feels like such an accomplishment.

My cap is getting discolored too. I like to heat two seconds past the click, with my older flower tip, and even longer than that with my concentrate tip. Mine is getting so many spots they're blending together, and the cap is gradually turning dark gray, almost black. I like the look, and I'll like it more the darker it gets. Eventually I'll have a fully functional black cap.

Dudes. Had ants in my pants.

Dug up an old Flowemate/Atmos, found its heater diameter compatable
with a VapCap.

Counted 20, to 1st click. Windproof.

Haha.. yeah I was just goofing off. I picked up a cheap part of a pallet that was the right thickness and just chopped without even sharpening the tools. :) Just wondering how it would feel. I really like It. I think Ill get a nice piece of wood and rout it out :) I have a friend with a nice router that would work. I dont have one personally.

There is something I like about the size of a cigarette case. and they are easily pick upable everywhere in basically the same size. I think if it were precision cut it would actually be a nice piece. Ill show you one when I am able to do it right :)
