I kept reading on here about two (2) clicks on heat up, and two on cool-down. I don't hear so good, tinnitus, so I thought people were hearing things I couldn't hear.
I happened to be in the local 7-11 and noticed an Altoids Smalls tin. I have been using regular sized Altoids tin with a VapCap magnet since day-one. It being smaller it has a higher pitched sound from the cap click. All of a sudden I could hear a second click. Just put some coins for weight in it. Magnet top center. I can hear it click twice.
The tin acts as a heat-sink, and speeds up the cool-click, while maintaining heat in the ti-bowl. You have to RESPECT the click when heating. I get a three or four pull, (rip, drag, draw, you name it) session almost every time with my Omni.
I have milked so much flower vapor with this method you would think I was dabbing.
I love this Omni, so flavorful, so economical. Doc

You Must Unlearn, What You Have Learned...
Hello and good morning, George thought is be best I stop by and share with you all here that may not know what I have going on over at Desktops. Sure I know a bunch of you do know but hey some may not so spreading the word is a good thing. If you all are looking for an alternative to the torch well here you have a desktop where the newer VC tips will slide over the heat port and you can use the VC as a standard log stem.

The WoodScents is utilizing Ti med grade internals for a clean healthy experience. Looking down the barrel you will notice the really neat Ti filter discs used in the VC tips and also above you can see the WS comes with a wooden stem and 14/18mm wong where the VC tip may be swapped to either for use however you see fit.

I also have a thread over in the desktops if you wanna stop by there as well. Really appreciate working with @VapCap George and thank him for being a part of the WS roll out and look forward to all the good things to come working with him in the future! Alot of great things are happening yall, many still to come so keep an eye out!
Now this is having your cake and eating it too! Convection rips with my OmniVongs? Yes please! I wish other manufacturers would collaborate like yourself and George. A match made in heaven, like two peas in a pod. Congratulations to you both!

I jumped straight in the deep end last summer with an OmniVap as my first purchase. It was maybe not the wisest decision, but it definitely worked out because I enjoyed my Omni immensely. I was even foolish enough to think the Omni was all I would ever need. That all changed when I used it with water.

I knew I needed a VonG to dedicate to water use. I decided to go with a burly 14mm stem. While I was waiting for the order to complete, DynaVap had a sale for $10 off the Original glass unit. It was already the best bargain in vaping! I couldn't resist the sale, I needed to see where it all started so I added one to my order at the last minute.

Great picture! I hope it's a gif or I need to stop working today because I'm seeing things...

I'm guessing that's your torch lighter next to your vapcaps. Can you share info about it? Looks nice!

Not once you've mastered a single torch. My quad gets my VapCap hotter much quicker, and instead of the more distinct two clicks on heating up that I get with my single, it's just one louder click. On the second and third heat cycle if I'm not careful with removing the lighter immediately when I hear the click, I can get it hotter than intended/combust. It is much quicker than the single torch lighter that I use though. I think a happy medium is a dual torch.

Agreed. I chose to go with a single torch to start, especially after my experiences with actually using them with cigars. Rather save on butane and have more control at the cost of shaving off a few seconds of heat-up.

It's a gunmetal gray dual flame Scorch Torch Tactical. It works great for heating the VapCap, one of my favorites. It's also small, sleek, and ergonomic. It's a little difficult to adjust the flame and it doesn't hold much butane so it needs refilling often.

It looks like it's not available for the moment on Amazon, where I bought it:

They do have a knockoff but who knows how reliable it might be, and it costs more than the Scorch did:

At $13 bux a pop, this site made my eyes :o

NVM, took me back to Amazon. "Currently not available." Bummed.

FleeBay does have them, @ $40-$$60.

I'm BLOWN AWAY by the performance of this OmniVap.

I actually put my Evo away - I have it setup on my coffee table in my office; the OmniVap and the Dynastash and my torch (soon to be my Pipes Jarhead heater) can exist on my desk, so I don't even have to get up anymore...I can be even more lazy. The vapor's not as tasty and there is not as much of it, but it's so convenient and easy!

Crazy. So thankful for this thread, these things would be impossible to figure out if it weren't for a lot of the great tips in here.

That's the thing I'm finding about my Omni, it's just so amazingly convenient.

I jab it into my stash, add cap, heat and hit.

For me it is the path of least resistance on the road to high elevations :D

Can't wait to get the @Pipes PortSide VapCap heater.

W9tech titanium mesh coil
http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/dynavap-vapcap.18853/page-265#post-1022543

I have a new favorite concentrate solution. Titanium mesh w9tech coils are fantastic but after several heat cleanings they do start to get brittle. So while they're great they will eventually wear out. This new solution should hypothetically last forever. I've been using this for a couple of weeks now, flavor and vapor wise I'd rate this a 10/10. It's even better than the mesh coils which are really great. Here are a couple of pictures of it disassembled and assembled. The ceramic wick is from a dissembled w9tech Canopus cart.

Out of .75mm gr2 titanium wire, I made a spring that perfectly wraps around the wick which serves a couple of purposes. It helps hold the wick perfectly centered, feeds concentrate to the sides of the wick, and probably helps with heat transfer. I also made a small wire knot that twists snugly inside the wick to help direct airflow through the sides of the wick instead of through the middle. It takes up roughly 1/4 the wick and sits right at the top.

elihC7r.jpg

*The wire and wick fit below the highest screen notch which allows for everything to be firmly held in place. Wire knot twisted snugly in the center.*

And the last picture it's blurry because well, who cares.
I'll be ordering a new tip and screen soon so I can't comment on how it fits or functions in those. Everything pictured is ceramic or titanium.

I can't wait to buy a vapcap, I live in the U.K. and I'm going to purchase the TiGlassy when they have the laser engraving on offer again. Then I'm going to have @phattpiggie make me a custom stem, can't wait to design one with him!

Also just FYI, @phatpiggie has told me this is the best way to go, if you know you're going to want a stem from him, because even though you only need a cap and a tip for his stems, it's only $5 extra for the TiGlassy. So you can try it out and see if the vapcap is for you; before you start customising it. I can already tell it will be though after all the videos I've seen:drool:. Hope it'll finally stop me smoking joints! Tobacco is death.

Going to save and hopefully have him make me a dynastash cigar case thing that matches the stem, with a magnet in the lid (or cap if you will :brow:).

Similar to this:

He's actually already made one (but with a contrasting wooden insert on top of the cap):

If there was a magnet instead, then you could take the cap off and set it on the table for use as the cap stand when you need to remove it whilst hot.

Just need to decide on a wood now... erring towards olive or yew.

Hope the engraving machine is fixed soon so I can start getting on with it! Until then I can try and decide on an engraving.

I like these:

I'm also hoping to get a home grown log in the near future from @RastaVapa. So I would love to try and get my stem and case from @phatpiggie to match if possible.

Here are some of his logs:

Olive:

Yew:

Was hoping to get some wood from this big ass yew tree near my home that's over 2000 years old, but I'm not sure it'll work because I don't want to cut anything and I don't think I'll be able to scavenge enough wood. Would have been cool though...

So I think my VapCap is coming tomorrow and unfortunately my butane torch isn't arriving until Friday. I will have to either use a BBQ lighter or a BIC instead. Which of these two would you guys recommend? Also I've heard 2 differing opinions on using a BIC.. one one hand I heard you gotta bury it into the yellow of the flame and on the other hand I heard you're supposed to put it right above the blue.

Bics will cause sooty marks on your cap if you get it too close (really easy to do). If you can get a "jet" lighter it burns the fuel a lot more efficiently so you don't get excess carbon in the flame.

What is widely considered on here to be the best jet lighter? Would prefer single flame or double max (cba to have to refill all the time using a triple or quad)

From my research and previous experiences with smoking cigars, Vertigo lighters are really good bang for buck. Also general consensus is that double or triple are the best. Quad seems overkill and many thing single doesn't heat fast enough. I personally prefer singles for cigars and general heating applications because it saves on butane and does give you overall more control on the burn at the expense of a few more heating seconds saved. I'm not sure if this pertains to VapCaps too, but I'm gonna try it since I have to buy a new lighter anyways (lost my other torches and only have BICs at the moment).

Both approaches will heat your Vapcap, but if you bury the cap in a non jet flame, your cap will be covered with black soot. To avoid this hold the cap above the flame.

Since a regular flame will take about 20 seconds to heat your cap, a bic could get hot on your fingers. A more relaxing approach would be to use a candle until you get a jet lighter.

There are lots of jet lighters to choose from. Check out this thread for all our recommendations.

Good luck building your perfect Vapcap, stash, lighter combination. Remember that LAS (lighter acquisition syndrome) exists as well.

Also check out @Ed's TnT Wood Scents logs. They integrate the Vapcap.

Without wishing to appear pedantic, I see these words a lot on this thread:
SOOT
a deep black powdery or flaky substance consisting largely of amorphous carbon, produced by the incomplete burning of organic matter.
SUET
the hard white fat on the kidneys and loins of cattle, sheep, and other animals, used to make foods such as puddings, pastry, and mincemeat.
"suet dumplings"
Peace and Blessings :peace:
