Whew what a busy day. I got three more slim steel core stems finished before my arms and neck couldn't handle anymore lathing.

Do you think you could do 12mm stems? I feel like the thin side of the slim vong stems are a nice width.

Just wondering... Not looking to purchase anything for awhile.
The pieces I just turned are 14mm at the widest, and are pretty close to 12mm on the thinner sections.

so when will there be a Nonavong and a Nonavong Fat? :D

When someone buys me a nice baby bench top mill, with an indexing chuck and table.

Any tips on how to remove a stuck cap? I have the tip in the freezer.
If the freezer doesn't work you might have to heat it up and give it a yank with something protecting your hands. OR freeze it and heat the cap lightly and pull?

How did you get it stuck?

I ended up putting the tip in ISO for a minute or two and tugging it off. I must have loaded a big bowl and gotten some resin flowing down in between the cap and tip or something. I left it inverted in my glass and that might have caused that. Oops!

So another thing I was wondering!!?

Do those Nonavong bodies fit in a regular Dynastash?
And would they still make sense for someone who doesn't have WT yet?

Also, is the titanium body the only body that doesn't really fit or work on a Uni type Vapcap?

Hopefully someone knows! Thanks

The Evo and Volcano are so sterile, so safe, so medical - you put the flower in somewhere and wait, and then kinda breathe in and it's whatever. Hitting the VapCap when it's really hot is like, yes, I am smoking pot right now.
.... and yet, the high is almost totally the opposite - session vapes = gentle, creeping high, like slowly toking on a J, while the Vapcap (once you get the technique right) hits you immediately. I have no experience with dabs but I do remember hot knives with a lump of smoking hash. At least that's how I see it although I am Vapcapless for the moment :2c:

unbearably light in the being....
Approaching the two-month mark, I feel like I've gotten a feel for my personal state-of-the-vape...and contrasted w/ other reports, I find myself wanting:

- I *did* finally get the vong assembled...but I've been completely unable to accomplish anything at all via water/glass: I suspect that the 18-to-14 reducer I'm using simply does not make any kind of seal w/ the vong body;

- SCREENS...doing anything at all with screens is infuriating: not the stick pen trick, not the M8 bolt trick, I have so far been unable to "snap" or "click" a screen into any groove - what I have managed to do in every instance is to wedge the screen(s) at an angle that doesn't allow the herb to fall out entirely They are pretty mangled at this point.

- SCREENS...removing the screens via the condenser into the tip is impossible as I cannot force the condenser in there hard/far enough to contact the screen(s); whether it's my compromised grip or it simply won't fit, I can't tell. At the one-month point, I disassembled the omni & cleaned it in ethanol, thinking sticky build-up might be the problem, but no. No sticky build-up. no reclaim at all after a month of regular daily use. Two months in a row. That's not realistic at all, and I can't account for it.

There's no build-up now: interior surfaces are dry and not tacky at all; the condenser will not penetrate the tip; it generally takes me 5 or 6 extra heat cycles with no apparent vapor or effect JUST to brown the bowl. This is not to say "I get no effect" as I've been plenty blazed 40% or the time - it is to say I seem to be doing things wrong, but I think I'm following the directions and the examples of successful capperators. Clearly I've grabbed something the wrong way....

As I said, I find my self wanting...a better high, a better understanding of what I'm doing, a less frustrating experience, a more predictable experience. SO GLAD I didn't get one of these for my wife....

UPDATE - I tried another round of screen-insertion & actually got the thing in, level (mostly...) and doncha know it seems more efficient, but we'll see

@ClearBlueLou, sorry to hear that you're struggling with your VC. I'm approaching the 3 month mark in a few weeks, and my experience has been very different from yours. But after a little over a year of vaping, and having the good fortune to have amassed a sweet little fleet of vapes, I am about 90% vapcapping now.....home, out, car, bike, hikes, quiet restrooms........the thing just works for me, and I LOVE the ritual aspect of these little wonders.

My first one is a Ti-Woody-XLS with a 2nd gen Ti tip, the other 3 are all latest generation tips. From your timeline, I assume that you also have the latest gen tip. I sat down this morning and decided that I would try and change my screen positions in my two shorties....the Titanium omni and the Ti-Carbon-S. The omni was dirty as hell from mega use, a quick cleanup with hot water and a paper towel, and 15 minutes later, using only the condenser and a flashlight to check the details, my screens were in the second ring, both packed with herb for the day out.

All I can say is, keep trying, 'cause when these little beasts are working right, I haven't found a better overall experience with vaping flowers. Good luck and keep vaping!

For thorough baking aim your torch at the bottom of the cap. Maybe that will make a difference. And don't forget to spin.

I had an easier time with the old screen and tip combo. The new ones (screens) don't seem as rugged. I try not to mess with them now if I don't absolutely need to.

My vong seals well both backwards and forwards. I actually reversed my vong stem (slim) and use it in a 14.5mm male joint. I was surprised that this worked.

I added a hemp fiber filter to my VC... Inside the tip near the fins but not in the bowl. I feel like it's more finicky to get consistent hits.

Fwiw...

Thanks for this. I am about to place an order and it's nice to see one up close and personal!
Welcome @Jen !

Don't know if you've read much of this thread, but there are many vapcap choices plus some UNBELIEVABLE stem work from @phattpiggie and @Winegums.

The technique takes a little practice, but it's fun and so worth it. And George and his team are great!!

Maybe it's the 70+ years of working with my hands, but this thing is small though.
To me it's hard to not to put it together right.
Use a 3/16" twist drill to disassemble the screens from the vc. Shank end does the pushing.
3/16" = 4.7625mm Ti-tip bottom inside diameter = 5mm Equal clearance.
I use a hammer and my truck bumper to flatten the screens. Before placing screen in bowl, lay the screen flat in the palm of your hand, push in the center to form a slight dish in the screen.
Drop screen in the bowl, level it, and push it home.
If your vong is leaking in the joint, go to a "Hookah" shop ask for silicone grommets. They are little silicone cones that are put in the hose joints on a hookah.
As for your other "99" problems, I don't know what to tell you. Sorry.
Maybe you should call the "Donald", he has small hands. Doc

Maybe you just shoot some pics, eh, Doc?

Be interested in the "schmall hands" aspect.
