@DgN'R : Nice dude! I've been rocking the glass adapter for about a year and a half now. The way I came about it was I don't do water, so native only, and I could never replicate a massive hit with the stock bowl like I would see everyone do through a bong. Took me awhile to figure it out, but I said to myself what's the common denominator with all the bongs......and that was the CLog heater is basically being consumed by the female end of a glass adapter, where as the stock bowl just sits on a ledge. And as luck would have it.......it worked!!

The male end is just a short round hole so you can sand down the inside of your wood CLog stem and friction fit it in there.

I've tried all kinds of adapters, even with a normal male end you can still sand your stem down to accommodate basically any size. I have my CLog stem glass lined so I just use a little bit of plumbers tape around the male end of the adapter to the end of the lined glass so there's no leakage.

Right now I've settled on using this DIY one hitter Joda bowl I made using this adapter. Works perfectly. DIY for the win!! :tup::tup:

So I've had @VaPeD&CoNfUsEd's glass bowl for a few weeks now... and the bottom line is that it's the best bowl I own for the CL now and I have several.

The combination of the perfectly narrow neck with the adjustable basket is just great. You can rip it or sip it and dial in the flavor you want by moving the bowl instead of playing with the CL temp.

Highly recommended.

I would. Sorry for the timing but I had just gotten the bowl before you originally posted so I hadn't had time to evaluate it. The VGoodiez bowl is still a good experience but it's just not as versatile as @VaPeD&CoNfUsEd's custom made bowl for the reasons I cited in my previous post.

The ability to change the distance from the CL heater alone is a killer feature.

@Chris@420Eng Do you think a power bank like this, and using the USB-C to DC cord adapter, plugged into the temp control dial of the Couchlog would work in making this device more portable (this was being discussed originally in the Halogen Vapor Log thread here on FC):



I'd probably just give this a try, but dont want to wreck anything with the CL

So just when I thought I had found the best way to use the CL with JoDa's excellent glass bowl, I find another way I love possibly better.

I was inspired by @DgN'R's post with the use of a 14mm/18mm female-female adapter with stems so I ordered a couple and hastily threw a basket screen in there. Wow. Probably the tastiest setup I've had yet.

The turbulence makes the load fly around and get baked to perfection with the cyclone action. There's a conduction component as the constant stream of hot air from the CL keeps the bowl hot even when you're not hitting it. It tastes amazingly similar to my Vapor Halogen Wand and this is the first time I've ever had the CL taste like this. It preserves the flavor in a very similar way.

@Texus, it made me laugh a little because I think we had an exchange once, before getting my first halogen where I wondered if a halogen would hit like a CL and you said they're very different - which is entirely true! Except maybe for this one case 😂.

You need the basket screen in your 18mm mouthpiece to avoid a flood of scoobies. Also, flower will collect there after some draws so you need to tap the glass a bit to have the flower fall. It's a small price to pay for a perfect, long lasting, flavorful roast without stirring.

Changing things up at home and still want to take full advantage of the magnetic CL base. Anyone know where I could get a strong adhesive magnetic sheet strong enough to work with the log and controller thru maybe a 1/4 inch thick wood?

Was able to use a power bank and USB-C to DC adapter (linked in my last prior message posted), along with a rotary dimmer switch like this:
Dimmer (CL Temp Controller wont work for this)

and an adapter for the cord like this so that it can insert into the CL:
Adapter (converts the 5.5x2.5mm plug of the rotary dimmer to 5.5x2.1mm needed for the CL input)

Convenient for making your CL more 'portable ' to bring outside or around the house. Thanks @Chris@420Eng
