I like the idea of being able to use 'a few crumbs' with the ssv. a mini wand is on the ordering list.

an order was placed for a ssv via 7th floor's ebay store at the end of this past week. i need to call them on monday to cancel my order. i highly doubt the vape has been packaged or shipped etc as the delivery estimate was in two weeks or so. do you think it will be difficult to get this order canceled? is their customer service decent? thanks guys.

7th floor is a solid company, they should be able to work something out if it hasn't shipped.

If you're scared of the ceramic heater talk going on, I wouldn't be personally. But to each their own.

Finally got around to taking some snapshots, hope others give this a try:

    Standard EQ dome screen

Got it started with a flat head screwdriver

    Almost there

Success, I mangled the screen on this one more than my first try.

Fits like a glove. Lets in less plant material than standard screen too, . Easily adjusts up and down the wand for more material and/or denser hits. Almost reminds me of the VapeXhale ELB.

Dense hits from very little material. I'm still working on the correct heating temp. I fly through a bowl on my normal 12 o'clock position.

Nice work tweak! McGuyver was a Stoner too.... i think. The only draw back to the mini wand is the long bowl size.It would be cooler if it was 1/4-1/2 size smaller.I'm still tempted to test 7th floor and request a custom mini wand with shorter bowl. The only thing stopping me is i have yet to break one after 3 months solid use.

    Hello All,

Have a couple of quick questions.

Firstly, I'm looking for information on how best to hook my SSV up to a bong/bubbler. I'm quite keen to experience water/ice cooled vaping. Need thorough info though, as I don't even know the difference between a bong and a bubbler or how to set it up. Expect this topic has been covered previously but a link would be really helpful (150 posts :ugh:).

Second question, can anyone point me in the direction of a UK supplier of SSV food grade tubing? My one supplier has "sold out".

    Cheers Guys!

A few things could be wrong here. Either:

    1. Your temp is too high.
    2. Your herb contains too much fertilizer and has been rushed/ is unflushed. A sign of this is if your herb turns black almost instantly - in this case cook or make oil with it as it won't do your lungs much good.
    3. You're inhaling too quickly.
    4. A combination of these factors.

My one and only tip is to set the SSV to 12 oclock and inhale as slowly as you possibly can.

If this does not help I don't know what's up.

You can just hook the whip to a 14mm dowstem and use the wand like you do when dry. Or you can buy an elbow adapter.

Many thanks for the replies. I'm visiting the bong shop tomorrow. I used to LOVE smoking conventional bong, but can't imagine wanting to do so now. I really wish that vaping had been prevalent in my smoking days... would have added years to my life.

It is already adding. ;) Good luck with the search, keep it small and without much diffusion to maintain flavour is my advice.

Make sure you get a Glass-on-Glass connection. Avoid the old style rubber grommet.

Also I doubt you will find a WPA (Water Pipe Adapter) at your LHS. Might need to order that from SSV's website.

Excellent idea! I might have to buy some EQ screens for the LSV now. I make something similar from forming flat screen, but this method would save a lot of hassle.

You can put on the ground glass heater cover, and use the ground glass wand and the tube fits in the down stem of the bong, this gives fat milky hits,, I use also the LSV heater cover + the ground glass wand which sits in perfectly for hands free use.
Or I also use the MINI whip and standard heater cover also put the tube in the down-stem of the bong, it is air tight I will post some pics a little later.
I prefer the big fat head-rush hits, more than endless little hits, but thats me, I use less herb and dial my temp up a little more 'i start around 1:30-2 on the dial, them when the milk turns skim i dial it up a notch and go again, i brown the bud pretty well. I love the SSV, I am on my second beacuse my first walked out an acquaintance's door, and those 3 months without it really sucked.

Please Help! Hey guys I'm having some issues with my unit, I may have messed it up and one of the prongs behind the temperature knob broke too. Long story short: I had an issue a while back about my knob not seeming to work consistently when turning on and off. What it will do is when I am in the process of turning it on, increasing the temperature; it slowly but surely loosens the the piece with the outward facing prongs over a long period of time (supposedly happens to a lot of people and it is simple to fix). I called 7thnfloor and was instructed by a very helpful guy that told me from the problems I was experiencing could be solved with a simple readjustment. Needless to say it was pretty much said and done, and has worked like a champ up for about 4 months until now where it started to do the same thing and I proceeded to tighten the "prong piece" ( I'm not sure of the technical name). In the process I believe I over tightened the piece (clockwise) then one of the prongs itself. Now it will not turn on or off but will still click when met at the on-off point in the revolution of turning it on.I was under the impression that I could at least use it with just turning the "pronged piece". The click is at But my main issue is to get set right to turn on and off and then find out what to do about the broken (pronged piece). PLEASE HELP thanks guys

Ahh man i feel your pain, i was without my surfer for a bit, but got a better red one, anyway I think i would call 7th floor, they will, may be have you just ship it to them, and they can prob fix pretty easy, Even if they charge you i cannot imagine it would be that much to have them fix it, or send you a replacement piece, also it might help if you posted a few pics

So my friend got a nice little 10 inch bong back and we've been hooking that up to the SSV. We've also filled the bong with airsoft BBs (apparently they do the same job as diffuser beads do). I've found that it helps a lot with the taste as you get towards the end. The burnt popcorn taste goes away quite a bit.

With the airsoft BBs I bought, they where lighter than water so they just floated. Diffuser bead are a bit more dense, so they stay towards the bottom.

Yeah I hardly notice the burnt popcorn anymore. I thought that I had just gotten used to the taste or something, he he.

I had some heavier BBs so they sank just fine :p

And haha so had I until I tried my bubbler again without the BBs in there. The taste with them is just so much nicer.

Airsoft BB's. I forget which weight they were but they seemed to sink fine. None of the floated. I don't have the bottle they were in anymore unfortunately. I gave em a quick rinse and I just tossed them in.

I was thinking about buying this one:
    http://www.puffitup.com/Silver-Surfer-Vaporizer-GG-p/ssvblacksilvergg.htm

It says it has a ground glass connection. This means I wont have to hold the end that plugs into the SSV, right? I just plug and it stays connected while I draw. All I have to hold is the other end into my mouth, right?

How much should I load the bowl? I currently have the Arizer Solo and love how I can get medicated with only loading its bowl with .2g. This is very good for preserving bud. Can I load the SSV with .2g and get atleast 10+ hits of dense vapor? The reason why I want another vapor is because the Solo doesnt provide me with thick clouds. I like thick, visible clouds.

Last one; how can I connect the tube to my bong, which has a 18mm joint?
