I have fixed screens by "opposing pressure'
whatever shape the bend, do so in the opposite.
if curled and rounded... use a pen and curl it in the opposite.
(gently... be one with the screen)
if it is actually BENT... bend delicately in opposite , along same bend...
but not enough to 'crimp" in that direction... again, be one with the screen!

I'm a little ashamed to say this (I feel like a hoarder), but the FlashVape is the only vape I've ever ordered a second one of just because I fear the 1st edition will remain the true classic. Even with a minor fault like the threads issue, I fear that it will be cheapened somehow in the next version and the original will never be surpassed.

I hope my fear is misplaced and that the next FlashVape will truly be an overall improvement, but sometimes you don't realize you're living in a golden age until it's over. I believe it is one of the few true works of art in the vape world - more an extension of the self than a whirling, beeping machine.

I've noticed the black ones are all gone now so it probably won't be too long before a revision is due I suspect.

Just found a U.S. source for black FVs for anyone interested - price a little inflated, but maybe the only game in town:
http://www.vapornation.com/store/flashvape-vaporizer.html

Edit: I see planetvape also still has them

I don't think the Vapornation price is inflated, since they've changed the kit contents a little. The charger is upgraded and they include an extra pair of tabbed screens. I can't tell how many batteries you get. The two-bay charger plus two batteries is $30, but two 3.2V batteries cost $10 and I don't think you get those. Two tabbed screens are $10 so assuming I'm right about the extra batteries then the total value is $160, just what they are asking—more if you get four batteries, of course. Since Vapornation has a 10% discount code for FC (FC11) and you get reward points worth another 10% it's actually a pretty good deal.

I think the vape is worth $160 regardless compared to other vapes, but yes good point about the extras. Even if there are only two batteries (which looks to be the case), the 2-bay charger and that it is shipped from the U.S. alone would make it worth it to me - especially since you can still get the increasingly rare black FV.

About 3 weeks ago, shortly after receiving the S2 spacer/battery upgrade, my FV died. I contacted FV, returned my unit (body only) and they sent me a replacement. I received the replacement a couple of days ago along with a couple of top screens and this one works better than my original ever did. Far more consistent heating/hits, and I don't feel nearly as much heat on the unit during a session. I'm very satisfied with the customer support from FV:)

OK Tweek, Teddy's it is.
Thanks for the suggestion.
Have to hide my stash first though. :brow:

As for incorporating a flashlight, hmmm. interesting.....a decoy add-on.

Sounds good, keeps us posted on that decoy add on Pipes. hehe
And while you're at it, seriously, would it be possible to wire an LED inside the bowl that would trigger off the power button?
Wouldn't that be awesome!

Only a few days until I depart for Amsterdam, where my FV + S2 kit is waiting for me :)

As there is a multitude of hashes in the Dam, I'm definitely going to be trying it with the FV, both pure and mixed with flowers. One trick I've learned while using pure hash in units like De Verdamper and the Volcano is putting an extra pipe screen (the normal circular ones) inside the bowl, on top of the built in screen, and then putting your hash on top of it. The idea is that if the hash melts, it will only clog the extra pipe screen, which can be easily removed and replaced.

Has anyone tried this with the FV?

I'm going to be travelling with my FV after the Amsterdam adventure, so I'm wanting to keep it as clean as possible. I will have some alcohol with me to help with the cleaning job.

Another question, about silicon tubing for connecting to glass - Someone already mentioned the 7th Floor tubing is slightly too wide to make a good seal on the mouthpiece. I have the feeling that Arizer Extreme tubing is a smaller diamater, has anyone tested this? I have access to both types of tube there...

I've tried hash in the FV and it worked really well. I hold the button in a little longer than for flowers and the vapor is very tasty. I put the hash right on the screen and just use the little brush to sweep it clean.
The diameter of the mouthpiece is too small even for EQ tubing, I think. Its closer to magic flight size.

As hoptimum said the EQ tubing is a bit larger then the mouth piece. But it is quite easy to connect them together. The black shrink tube which is on one side can be used on both. + Also you could make a seal by using an elastic! Just put the elastic all around the mouthpiece (mouth-side)...Then push it inside of a short EQ tubing piece, and it should fit tight! Use someothers elastic, do a wider or lighter if it doesn't fit good.

Since i found out about elastic use (haha) i've also got a safety trick : In order to avoid mouthpiece to fall down on the floor (happened 2/3 times without breaking!) i've putted an elastic around the top part (just under the larger window side) connected with another elastic fixed to the mouth piece... This way i can disconnect the mouthpiece while it is stand and everything is still "linked" together. Maybe should i take a picture? (have a bit of difficulties to epxlain this in english, but i think it is understandable)
