Not after I broke that Mobius I'm not lol. I would be okay with dhgate stuff but I dislike waiting for shipping from china, so I usually go for stuff in the U.S.

You are right. It does not say 14mm for the Halley on the site. I got confused because of this post on reddit (check it out it's the same piece but apparently 14mm?). I am just going to pull the trigger on this while it's in stock and at that price! I wish they still offered those little hemp grinders. Thanks for the help everyone!:)
Is agua lab’s USA web site still available?

Do you still recommend this? I broke my favorite Mobius on the 4th (R.I.P you angel) and am currently on the hunt for something to replace it. How tall is it? The description does not mention the dimensions and just dives into the origin of the name.

Edit: Never mind It's a 14mm! The micro Vega, Greenstar, and now this... Why are all of these 14mm now??? Looking back at the description, it does say it requires a 14m to 18f adapter. Oh well, the hunt continues.

I do, but as others have mentioned it may not be for everyone. It's a heavy piece, made well and I like the design. I'm not always so concerned about saving a few bucks if there is something I like.

If your a Bling stoner ?
If function & cheap = FC186 at @dhgate.com (don’t trust my spelling? F’d up!
This put’s me In a blissful CIVILIZED state of CIVILIZATION with my EVO!

Vaporizing is personal.

Hey my friend. I always appreciate your posts and perspectives, but Just because somebody likes a glass piece that is a few more bucks does not make them a "bling stoner".

Sure that you're looking at the same thing? From the Halley page:

Includes:
1 Halley
1 18mm/18mm male adapter
2 18mm female adapters
1 18" whip tubing

I know my eyes cross sometimes, but I can't see the 14mm. Height is 7.5".

:myday:
I ended up ordering it, and it came in last Friday. It's a 14mm!!

My thoughts on the Halley:

The function is great by itself, but doesn't work so well with vapes that have even just a little restriction (like the EVO).:( The restriction doesn't allow the piece to recycle fully at any water level until you remove the vape from the glass. Is that how it was intended to work? I only got it to recycle perfectly with bangers and a Tubo Evic (all of these have wide open airflow). Bigger slits in the perc could alleviate this.

I think that this piece really preserves a lot of the taste and should be easy to clean. The 14mm female ground glass joint is the best I have ever used. Overall, I'm impressed with the function(when not connected to anything) and I really wanted it to work, but I regret buying this. It's too restrictive for me to use with the EVO and I feel like I have to really pull hard to get it moving(frozen milkshake feeling). Besides it being a 14mm female(which isn't in the description of the item and I was trying to avoid lol), the 14mm female end is very crooked, the perc is flawed, and the piece leaks from the rear drain where it was attached towards the bottom (almost wet my other stuff!). To me it does not feel as thick or heavy as their quality HT's.

Edit: VXL responded and is taking care of it. It turns out the hole/crack that was leaking was letting air in and not allowing it to recycle appropriately, thus forcing me to hit harder to compensate, and making it feel like there's a lot of resistance.

What did VXL say about it being 14mm instead of the advertised 18mm? Frankly, that would tick me off.

@oldiebutgoodie A customer care representative replied to my email and said that they have sent a message to "customer service" regarding qc issues. A replacement was immediately approved without hesitation (which kind of caught me off guard lol) and is being shipped tomorrow. Nothing about the 14mm in the ad was addressed. I will e-mail them and let them know to correct that as well to prevent more problems for customers. I would be more upset about it, but honestly I really liked it and am looking forward to getting a fully functional one.

Sounds great. Ya, lots of owners have built up a good collection of VapeXnails already and all that's repetitive. Happy to help. PBW is a hard-core cleaner (as you can tell from how hard it was to remove those white streaks), it's near caustic and will strip anodizing off :whip:. I love it  (when used correctly). It's sad the VXL cleaning kit didn't give PBW instructions. Many PBW brands will give recommended usage amounts and it's quite low (and available on the net). I try to eyeball less than a tsp in my Magnasonic cleaner and (as mentioned) recycle the solution to clean my hydratube(s) after. Many cleaning solutions will work in an ultrasonic cleaner, but avoid solutions that are flammable and/or have a low/significant flash point (isopropyl is bad for this). For these reasons, ultrasonic cleaners typically recommend water-based/soluble solutions over solvents. I've tried stuff as mild as SLS free dish soap (w/ limited vape cleaning success).
Hey brother, sorry it took me so long to reply back to this. It sucks not being able to post as much as I used to in my 20's with all the current changes and responsibilities I'm facing in life but I did manage to get back here almost 3 months later. Please forgive my lack of freetime but I didn't forget our discussion.

Yeah I dunno man, I've tried PBW a total of 4 times. Once on my Classic Hydra Bomb and 3 times on a combustion bubbler that I have now broke. My Broken ratchet bubbler had white streaks that I couldn't get off despite multiple ISO cleanings. What appears to be white streaks sometimes appears when I let my Hydrabomb go 2 to 3 days and I'm pretty sure that's due to the PBW. Everytime I did use PBW I always had to go over the glass again with my Orange Chronic cleaner or salt and iso anyhow. I dunno bro, I'd rather stay away from the stuff personally because If I have to use ISO in addition to PBW it just negates the point entirely.

Now keep in mind, I could have done something wrong, either with the ratio of mixture or by letting it soak with streaks the way I did. But the thing is, I just have had much better experience with ISO and Salt. I'm not usually fast to give up on something (lol well except the dynavap) but when I find myself using iso anyway, I don't see the point.

I am still curious about sonic cleaners but after hearing you say that ISO isn't an option and after having quit vaping nicotine on Jun 13 (YAY!) I have a little less incentive to get one since It would only be used for My Cannabis Vaping stuff, Flowerpot, Evo, etc..

So although it wont get as much use as it would if I was still vaping Nicotine, I'm still curious about the solution they recommend and the effects it might have on my quartz nails, my baskets, my Flowerpot Titanium, and maybe even a few slides and a ash catcher I still use for very occasional combustion might fit in there as well. As long as I don't need to run my parts again through another cycle of iso and salt, and if it works just as well tho... hmm

I didn't see your guys' discussion earlier, so just fwiw . . . there was a LOT of discussion after release of the first Cloud about PBW and other cleaning methods. The glass sold by VXL then was larger and better than the current HT's, plus a lot of us brought serious pieces like Mobius to the party.

So along with the discussion there were also pics and IIRC a few videos, that stuff is in the Cloud thread if'n you're interested. One prolific guy (and I think kinda a cleanliness freak) had a great sink glass-cleaning setup that I borrowed and used for some time. But like many others, I eventually found that much of what we were doing was overkill. And PBW was a PITA to mix and work with. I also experienced some clouding and marring on a couple pieces of glass (note, never used combustion with these pieces), but I don't think it was from abusing the PBW because all my other glass (I had a lot) remained fine - it seemed more to be a reaction of some kind in that particular glass. I tried everything I could think of to get those couple of pieces clear/clean again, including the most caustic (albeit glass safe) acids. No cigar. That's what led me to think that maybe there was some chemical change that had happened; the glass seems to have had actually changed in its composition somehow.

Anyway, since then (I have both a first-edition OG and first-edition Evo), I've used 99% ISO, cheap from Amazon by the case. I hardly ever use salt because regularly cleaning with dish soap does the job as long as I use ISO once every week or so. Again, just fwiw . . .

Happy EVO Friday everyone . I hope y'all are well and enjoying the summer. Been hot hot hot here the last few months. I'm still vaping with the EVO often and it's going as well as ever. So well in fact that I'm often too high to try posting here :brow:.

I've used the Precision hydrabomb much more and come to some basic hydratube conclusions that some may find helpful when selecting hydratubes. Hope it helps. The Precision hydrabomb definitely conditions less than the Precision honeycomb (or anything larger). If you're a dry vaper with the EVO and want stronger vapor and the least water conditioning, go with the Precision hydrabomb. OTOH, if you're a dry vaper and want some good conditioning the Precision Honeycomb is a great hydratube that provide nice all-around water conditioning; the vapor is much smoother and less harsh. It's my favorite hydratube so far (and in a nice small compact size). If you're not a dry vaper and/or want big time water conditioning, look to the full size hydratube options, the hydrabases, combos/stacking, etc... they really cut down the vapor (but at the price of potency).

No problem at the slow look @Socks And Sandals, life can be very busy, especially in the summer... and I haven't been posting much because of that either. Those white streaks wont come off with a solvent like ISO, it's calcium deposits from hard water and significant white residue streaks will be very stubborn (especially when using hard water to try to remove it). I use distilled water to rinse. Lots of internet talk on those streaks and people recommend an acid rinse... even a bit of vinegar with distilled water should work. I've never bothered with using vinegar-water or an acid rinse, but may try it since adding a tsp or tbsp is easy.

If you're happy with ISO and salt, keep at it. Still, if PBW interests you, with a bit of tweaking PBW should rock ur cleaning routine (in a good way); it's much cheaper, much stronger, better for the environment, easy/fast to use, win win win win. One lb of PBW comes in a nice small tub (maybe 4 inch diameter and height) and it lasted me somewhere near two years in weekly use; simply add a small amount to hot water according to the mixing instructions, and soak a bit.

Congratulations on the EVO and Precision hydratube purchase @BigJr48 . Enjoy! The community here is a great resource to help with any questions. Let us know how it goes and what you think :). As for recommendations, I'd suggest a medium or coarse grinder, plus an ELB loading tool, something like this for example to make life much easier (there are a number of different types and styles available). And imo, don't leave a fresh ELB in the EVO heater when not using it; conduction heating will occur quickly and light molecular weight terpenes and cannabinoids will vaporize off. One could cap the heater with a hydratube but then the whole thing becomes a tip hazard while sitting there. It's easiest to simply put the ELB in when you want to take some draws... and remove the ELB when your done taking draws, and it's full convection heating that way. Many like to heat soak the EVO for 10-40 minutes before using and it definitely increases extraction efficiency (especially at lower temps, like below 12:15 on the heater dial), but after a few years of use I only heat soak when I vape at low temps (and for only ~10 minutes). At higher temps, I'm good with the 3-5 minute red-to-green light warm up (unless I'm fine with waiting)... and if I want to get the faster extraction that comes with a good heat soak, I simply up the temp setting on the dial a bit (and it works very well).

The cord that the Evo uses is the same of many electrical appliances as printers, you can use a converter or an EU cable.
I’d go with a printer power cord especially if you plan to keep the Evo on for extended time.
It's the same detachable 3 prong style, but people should find one with a similar power rating (or better). The EVO is a significant current draw and a low capacity power cord can lead to major hazards, including melting and fires. The OEM power cable is 10 ft long and 18 AWG fwiw.

I can't find it on their site either. A 14mm top joint does not make sense...
I thought those 14mm hydratubes were for the brnr vaporizers...

Congratulation on the EVO vape @okc0mputer . Enjoy the vape and what it offers. Try temp stepping and different temps (e.g., I like starting at the 11 o'clock position on the heater dial, then 2:30), as well as high temp one-hitters. All these different temp settings usually give people different f/x so it's worth checking out (many find low temp vaping very cerebrally stimulating and high temp vaping more sedating). I'd recommend using a medium or coarse grinder with the EVO for many of the reasons already mentioned by others. Some owners enjoy putting whole buds / cola pieces into the ELB too... no mechanical grinding at all. Keep us in the loop as you get to know the vape and cheers.

Have a great Friday everyone.

@jimdee and @Jtwpayne, thx for the heat up feedback . It's different for me, but as I recently mentioned there's a lot of variables that go into use... plus personal preference :). I like to use my EVO from cool/cold within 2 or so minutes of heat up. There's definitely more heat soak at 10 minutes, though at 30+ minutes it's still a big step up. The common theme among these recommendations is to find a heat-up time you like and then target it . The EVO is capable of an infinite variety of experiences and you can really dial in a top notch experience by developing quality and consistent methods/inputs. I can see the appeal of some added heat soak ... more extraction and cloud density :luv:.

@Jtwpayne, was the flower at the same moisture levels both times? That makes a huge difference. Also I do get some variability in ELB loads over the course using up a nug (many many sessions), sometimes there's more sugarleaf in a particular ELB, etc. You mention doing only a couple sessions too, I'd give it some more use and go through more ELBs before drawing much for conclusions. And have you tried lowering the temp? I can take draws at 11:00 (320F) at 30%-50% ELB and get clouds. I recommend trying it, maybe that gets you closer to your optimum experience. . Hope that helps :2c::tup:.

:leaf:
Yay Friday. I'm back on the EVO, this time with Trainwreck flower. from a great batch :luv:. I love the sativas :science:. I tried to to a 50% ELB load but still ground too much flower up. The EVO is crazy efficient with fresh quality flower . I probably ended up at ~ 2/3's full :p. Blowin' clouds at 320F .

I have a bit of Trainwreck ground flower left and my eye on some Acapulco Gold fortification with the next bowl :) :peace:.

Has anyone experienced red/green flashing light coming from the heater?
The only time I've seen the flashing lights is when I left it on unattended and it reached the point in time where it turns the heater off automatically. If the flashing lights are due to it being on too long you can just turn it off and back on and she'll be ready to go again.

I see it every time I leave the EVO heater on for over 45 minutes... as mentioned by others it flashes that when the built-in auto shut-off timer kicks in. A power cycle resets the timer and the heater will work again. Just happened yesterday here.

Has anyone ever tried using the Evo as an injector? It does nice things for flavor with a bit less metal in the path. I'm using a screen here, but this bowl has a glass screen built-in if I wanna go 100% glass. But at that point, I go whole-nug to avoid the pull-through. Crazy flavor.
