My dual arrived today and I’ve been experimenting for the past hour and I’m sad to say I have zero vapor coming out. The coil was set to .266 and after trying the different on demand vs cruise- nothing. Tried one battery and then 2- nothing. Reset coil to what’s on the door and still nothing. I tried warms and no warmups, nothing helped. There’s a slight warmth from the heater and that’s it, I can stick my finger in there after a whole warmup and cruise session and it’s barely warm. Any advice anyone?

A whole hour of experimenting and material is bright green, not a single cloud

Edit- is it bad for the electronics if I set the coil resistance too high? I’m getting a little bit of results as I dial the coil up to .280, just don’t want to burn anything out. Seems like i’ll have to go quite a bit higher to get it going. Can the original recommended resistance be that much off from what actually works? So far .280 and the temp is set at 500F:shrug:

Also is it normal for the glass in the oven to move a little bit. There’s a rattle if I shake the device. What is boost? The manual had it at 0% but mine was set at 50%

Edit+ just set the coil to .286 and the oven started glowing and I nearly combusted at 370F, guess the coil needs to be lower. Now it’s starting to make sense:nod:

I have both the milaana and tubo evic and can give you a good comparison once I figure out this tubo a little more.

@DougBentley will be watching your impressions, thanks for the advance

@Leolo

@Whissmu I rarely use/used my Milaana once I got a Tubo. Tubo is superior in every way, IMO.
.

@sickmanfraud thank you but could have details of that superiority :hmm: ... remember -> what for some is super for others is just the opposite :worms: ....

If I buy a tube, will the mileana spare me? Is someone rotating regularly between these two vapes?

greetings and thanks:leaf:

The milaana is nice for the feel of it and manual nature. You get to fine tune every aspect of it and it's a really intimate device/usage imo.

The tubo is pretty "automatic" in comparison but idk. The r2d2 comparisons make me feel ok w this robotic nature.

The tubo is very consistent and can give any kind of experience you seek depending on the temp set.

I will say the milaana does give a bit better flavor for the first hit in my experience... but I also use bent stem in tubo, and usually am roasting a 0.1g in 3~hits :spliff: whereas milaana is more sit'n'savor for me. I would do like 0.05g a stem in my milaana and hit it for 5-10min.

ANYWAY

I am getting REAaaLLYYyy hyped for my dual to come:D
any day now...

:cheers:cheers and thank you as always to tubo overload @funkyjunky

I rotated between Milaana and Tubo a lot before getting back on Zion with the final version now. I am mostly switching between Zion and Tubo, with some butane convection and some others on occasion. Between Tubo and Milaana they are a great complimentary pair, Tubo is easier to share but some still prefer Milaana overall, Tubo bent stem is all I do basically though cruise is a nice bonus. The draw for Tubo in my experience is best ripped harder and RBT slow sip which I prefer, but clearly like mixing it up the most. The automatic digital regulation of the Tubo is great, but there is still something special about a more manual experience for me, a stronger signature maybe though neither is a slouch. For me in Tubo I usually do quicker bowls while Zion I like to take slow, they have different uses but can also swap. Tubo can be quite portable, but I still found Milaana moreso (Zion would be least, but its all in one design actually makes it more portable in that sense) And I do that Tubo is a great first vape, it can almost do it all really, but it really depends on individual users as you see here. No one vape is for every one... Yet

I am very grateful to both of you for your help :bowdown:.. I have cleared many doubts thanks to you.... and curse !! -> !! I do not see possible dodging my VAS with this vape  ... I really like the qualities of my vapes in different situations-> I can go from the comfort of the capsules of mighty to has at the manuality of my Sticky brick Jr so I feel that I can fit this vape in my home ..

In short, I am left with the following qualities of the tube appreciated by me as possessor of the milaana;

- easier to use / more automatic
- control of battery charge
- suitable for quick use

feel free to add more qualities to the tubo to front the Mi... I think it will not be long before I find new advantages for the tube, jis, jis,!!

muunch

hotboxing the cockpit
- Easier (aka no effort) lowtemp hits
- USB charging just in case I guess
- possible 1 or 2 battery on same unit (if you get the dual)
- way easier group/noobie vapor use (cruise, pass and they can just hit it)
- upgradable firmware (not sure what else there could be but, hey, just in case!)
- joint will fit all male stems (no bottoming out like in some milaana and @DDave mods back in the day)

i love them both, but you asked

tubo (or vapcap) is all i take out of the house. zion stays inside, im not brave enough to have my heart broken.

perfect !! valuable contribution!

I would highlight for me:
- greater autonomy (2 batteries)
- USB charging:rockon:
- upgradable firmware (improvement I guess)

the rest of advantages I do not see them significant for my taste :hmm:, I do not see the advantage of the cruise way for me and I do not suffer from problems with the joints of my milaana

My desire for this vape has grown:luv:, I am convinced that until I try it in the tranquility of my home I will not discover if I love it or not:sherlock:!
but thanks you -> every day I discovering more about the this vape

Hello fellow ents,

Long time lurker on this forum, and am delighted to say that I am joining the Tubo Evic family! I ordered my beech / grey unit with various mouthpieces a few days ago, and am awaiting shipping.

I am a light user, partaking mainly in the evening for insomnia. My wife has recently started joining me in these mini sessions to help with her IBS, and believes it is helping her, which is great. At the moment, I set up the EQ for her while I hit the Milaana, but it is not an optimum solution as the EQ is not ideal for microdosing (I dont have DDave mod kit yet) and it is a lot of hassle to warm up, pack away etc. My hope for the Tubo is that I can pack a stem with .2 or .3 for her, and she can just sip from that stem over the course of several evenings, shaking to stir and repacking when it is eventually spent. Does anyone here use the device in that way? Or is everyone too busy melting their faces in cruise mode? :D

Very excited to try this vape, excellent work @funkyjunky on making it this far!

I also use it this way with success. .2 fits without a problem, never tried packing more cause it's already a lot for me. No problem spreading a stem over a few days.

with the additional stems you can even toke together on seperate loads.:D
For microdosing be sure to order some additional rimmed screens and build some @muunch capsules TM

I've refined my hash handling with the tubo a little bit and like the whole experience a lot.
I get constant good results with about .1g of any classic hash, already tried a large variety from nederhash to morrocan high grade, indian charras and the new age block hashes. I make a pizza out of it with a width slightly smaller then a rimmed screen, place it on top of a rimmed screen and then, to prevent the shrink when heated, I put a normal screen on top of the hash pizza. this goes straight and tight into the stem and the fun can begin.
really simple and on 250°c my tubo milks everything usable out of this stuff without combustion. it takes 1-2 cruises until the whole hash is spend, depending on quality and the cruises can be easily splitted in multiple sessions.
I can even switch to herb inbetween sessions because the two screens stick together as long as there is some magic left.
Afterwards I just need to scratch the residues from the screens and they are good for the next round. a torch from time helps if airflow gets restricted too much.

I know no better regulated portable vape for classic hash right now, everything in compairson lacks in terms of efficiency and cleanability.
Of course the unregulated vapes could shine with hash like this a whole while before and are a lot faster at extraction, but with unregulated you always need some caution in the process, with the tubo it is really a relaxing and hassle free experience.

Does anyone else have a problem with dark brown almost black hotspots in the centre of the bowl?
The herbs at the outer edge stay almost green though. This seems to happen increasingly when inhaling trough whip or water. I actually don't really like using the bent stem as vapor gets quite hot and is irritating my throat.
I usually use micro doses up to max .1g with the basket capsule trick.

Anyone else having this problem? Any solution ?

leveltree

never wanted to beat that one ;)
I did have this problem.
I think the solution was to draw slower or pack tighter.
I haven't had this for a while now.
I think this is a phenomenon resulting from the super open airflow of the tubo.
So lowering the speed of airflow would improve it in my experience.
Holding a finger on the air intake hole, packing a bit tighter (not necessarily more) or just drawing slower.
Hope that helps :peace:

I don’t get any charring, and I pay very little attention to how I pack or draw, and have never touched the air intake hole. I think something else is going on. I don’t know the solution with any certainty, but perhaps it’s just running too hot and needs a resistance adjustment(?). Of course, I never use water either, so there is that.

Vape... For your health!
Hi everyone! First time poster but long time lurker on FC and specifically, this thread. My VAS is getting the better of me and I'm taking a hard look at the Tubo Evic for my next vape. With that said, is there a timetable as to when the Dual model will be up on the website? I take it the Dual's still need to be ordered directly through @funkyjunky at the moment?

I'm wondering if I should wait for the Dual to be readily available or jump on the original Tubo now... I'll be using the unit at home 95% of the time and plan to buy at least four 18650 batteries with a 4-up charger. I invision using the unit with the whip or through my D020-D waterpiece majority of the time.

Any reasons why I should wait and go for the Dual over the original Tubo other than the better battery life?

Yes, you’ll need to order the Dual through @funkyjunky at this time.

I have both. I’ve been rotating 6 batteries in my Tubo, with a 4-battery charger. I didn’t find that to be terribly inconvenient, but swapping them out a little less frequently had some appeal (maybe less appeal though, if all of my batteries were up to par), so I ordered the Dual. Nice thing is it can be used with one battery in a pinch.

Having said all that, I must admit I’ve been taking a bit of a break since shortly after my Dual arrived.....I felt I was getting lazy and hermit-like (maybe I shouldn’t blame weed, as that could be from the shitty Northwest weather....hmmmm). So, the point is I haven’t used my Dual enough to comment with any detail on the battery life improvement, though I’ve noticed it is longer. I can say it does function just like the Tubo though.

Yeah classic convection tunneling, I usually draw hard and fast for best results, so this can happen at upper temps (above 380). Depending on other variables mentioned (draw and pack), your best bet is to stir at least once if it really bothers you, or maybe stick to the low temps?

Unfortunately it doesn't quite fit my D020-D, but it fits my D020 perfectly.

Nice, very nice.

Ahh that's a bummer to hear. Was really hoping it would pair well with the D020-D. Does the Tubo interfere with the mouthpiece of the bubbler?

Thanks for the reply! I think at this point I'll most likely just go with the original Tubo. I don't think I can hold out for the Dual...

I'm sad it doesn't fit too. If I wasn't 80% sure I'd scar it in some permanent way I'd unscrew one of the stacks of hexagons and move it a bit so it fit.

The tubo doesn't interfere with the bubbler mp at all. It's probably just hard to see but the tubo is a good 3-4 inches behind the mp, you can rotate it to get it more out of the way too if you want.

@NHCheef and @Saulsaul let me welcome you both to FC. I am glad you are in the Tubo thread, shows good judgment...

For anyone who wants to use a water tool (bong) with the Tubo or many others is to run a short piece of whip tubing from the Tubo short adapter to a 14mm or 18mm male connector and plug that tube into the place where you would "balance" your vape.

Now we have a tubo hooked up to a bong-like device. You can draw from your water tool mouthpiece or you can hook up another tube to draw from the waterpiece using a cork you can buy from @funkyjunky.

I have a dual and I can say that it is cool, being able to use it with one or two batteries. That being said, having a Tubo Evic (OG) and a few charged batteries with you (in a case) is a way to use the Tubo for a very long time without a unit with 2 or more batteries and without a wall socket.

Tubo Evic or Dual, will both be excellent choices. Warning, using a Tubo may make other vapes obsolete.
