I see that you guys are having a ball here now that I revived this old thread
. I just read moltentiger mention manual mode and wattage. Does it/tubo firmware support Temp control as well? Asking because I had a stempod si with only wattage control and o kept combusting.
yeah many thanks. This is the motivation I have been waiting a long time for - I have had this TUBOx put aside for sooo long - and yet now I am getting some of the finest vapour that I've been missing.
It's such a rad way to vape. I've discovered that setting it to 44w straight out of the box is simple and properly effective with some intuition.
TUBOx quick setup guide for power/wattage mode:
1. Connect your TUBOx to your box mod via the 510 screw
connection
2. Select Watts (20-50W), press and hold the fire button to use
the device on-demand
I have found the simple power/wattage mode to be the easiest to replicate, but it is better to have it set up with the double click and stay on function, rather than having to hold the fire button. But I have found autopilot a little finicky to set it up so it works automatically every time.
Using it now, with a glass piece in power/wattage mode, I watch the vapour and when it gets suspiciously juicy I rapidly accelerate my draw speed and "fight" the heater, holding the chamber at the desired temp to get a really powerful express extraction.
The heater 'beat' me at 50w hence combustion, so tuning in to the specific point where it is an easy battle won every time is the ticket to huge white walls and full torus function...
It's so awesome to try this again, it is basically performing exactly how I want my Xmax V3 Pro to, just roaring breezy hits, effortless power and proper mind blowing effects. Glass rig perfection.
Power/wattage mode is not so much about setting a temp, it did originally say 195 dC on-screen when I first used it, but it now reads 240 dC.
By fluctuating draw speed and regulating the hit, you can forget about specifics and have a perfect yet hot spotty convection experience.
Judge the power level setting by the ABV and the flavour (it's great for this, this is a vape I would say best suited to premium flower, actually any grade it performs near perfectly, but it will do the very best justice). It can offer fully smouldered, crispy black, dark brown, coffee, amber, yellow, green. Dialled in with the voltage and particular toking pattern it has a lot to offer.
