Probably this buck converter is better thsn dimmer, ok, for the tube, i can try to send an email in english... but i try before one tube that i reduce from 12 to 11 OD and is about 0.5 thin and see what happens before order.

Dimmer or buck converter/vvps will both do. The buck is more precise, due to the digital display. Easier to memorize the wattage/voltage than a random position on an unmarked dimmer dial.

I'd suggest looking for one with push buttons for changing the voltage. Most come with miniature style potentiometer screws though. Works fine too, but you'll always need a small screwdriver then, when changing the voltage.

First post on NFC. Highly encouraging to see so much interest in DIY log and desktop vapes

Been busy with other (mainly useful) stuff recently so I'm really happy to be back building logs again.
This one's an oak Rustic. It's part of a branch cut by a local farmer during routine land management.
Here's the blank prior to de-barking.

HC and electrics installed. Base well closed and sealed with olive green leather.

The stem is also oak but made from dowelling so it doesn't count as Rustic.
Well, back to the testing :science:- no rest for some of us :D

das ist richtig auf der rechten Seite. Bildschirm, Dynavpe Bildschirm, Bildschirm ..
Min : 6:50 Video

so you use dynavap screen between two mesh, but in my first build i use a piece of steel, the same of the tubing, if i put it like you became more conduction than convection or not ? if i put the dome just over the bulb and more over the screen isn't better ? i just need to know because it's more easy to put at the same level of the screen but....

Because dynavap screen are no so economic...

@all

As the original FC and NewFC get merged tomorrow, I wanted to ask if you feel any need to preserve and migrate our new Misty thread's contents here or if we should forgo that and just move back to the old thread on FC, as we left it. Saves @Stu & Co. some work.

Useful looking tools.
I'm certainly in the market for a better tube cutter. Any more details on that?

Great to see that Rustic blank getting the full Misty treatment
And that cartridge heater should ensure that it'll mamage easily with concentrates as well as herb.

Coming along nicely:nod:
Left it unchanged, mostly. Just added the through hole and the hole for the plug and beveled the top a bit. Sanded and polished it a bit with fine grit sandpaper and steel wool and then waxed it, plugged it up and added the leather bottom.

Now it's heating up and I'll let it run for an hour or two, while taking a well deserved nap 😴 😊
