Discontinued The Grasshopper

Vaporific

The Hopper is like a Ferrari in the 1970s: great car if it runs, but it was mostly in a garage for repair.
Perhaps but back in 2016 or so it was a brand new model for many of us, myself included. New models don’t belong in the garage for the sake of looking at it or needlessly wanting to maintain it out of the gate. I however do agree with most of the rest of your sentiment.

'd say most with a hopper have diverse experience. It's rarely if ever a first and only vape.
while not technically my first, it was my only vape for some time. There may be a few in the minority’s, myself included, who don’t have a vape collection. While not generally a lucky person, I serendipitously bought a Fury clone the day my pre-order Ti died for good. I still have only one vape - until my Hopper comes back. :peace:

Agreed, I bought a Ghost last year, I used it for awhile and enjoyed it but gave it to a friend in exchange for walking my dog for a week. He doesn’t use it anymore either but whenever i’m at his house he wants to hit my grasshopper!

I am feeling some creeping VAS for the Venus Apollo, anyone have any experience? I’m thinking it would make a nice compliment to my hoppers

is there something we need to know!? lol feels like your foreshadowing something another vape? BLaSphEme!

I'd like to try a halogen based vape.

I was reading yesterday how they preserve flavour extremely well.
Definitely a good option for something different

By this stage I think many would have had to have grabbed some alternative. It's not all bad though, a good excuse to get something else to enjoy.
A couple of my mates with working GHs don't even use them and just smoke.
It's definitely the better choice to have a few vapes that suite your style to avoid burning, and just to mix it up every once in a while.
So many aren't good value, but there's some good options out there

A friend has one, perhaps Aeromed but not sure (he has several table tops). It’s like an electronic bong with a halogen lamp. Vapor so pure and tasty it’s unreal. Effect is awesome.

Newbies gotta start somewhere. While I’ve mostly been vaping for the last 4-5 years, thankfully and healthily so and after combusting several times that prior, YES adding an additional device to the stable (or garage - see @Hammahead & my earlier comment) is an eventuality. However I chose to try to avoid VAS and acquiring a collection so the Hopper was essentially IT for me for a while.

That lasted almost a year. Necessity, for lack of not having another, was the catalyst for getting another vape. If my Hopper doesn’t come back soon I may get another portable more as a backup or change...

As with combustion and its many forms and methods, using different vapes is a welcome change too. Something I’ve come to appreciate along the way...:peace:

Not at all, I have 3 Hoppers at the moment that are all working great and I have plans to see the new Hopper Labs in a week or so, just a regular case of VAS, I only heard about the apollo last week and with my birthday being next week ... ;-). My only hesitation is that every other vape I’ve bought since the Grasshopper never gets enough use to justify it, I always come back to the GH

Yippee !!

Namaste refunded me completely, and said I can keep the green hopper, no need to return. Impressive customer service. Said they won't be stocking hoppers any longer. Of course, I can't register it because of the S/N and box code mismatch, but it's free!

And, just got shipment tracking on new one from HL, ordered Jan 7th

The Hopper Gods are smiling upon me

I like very much my Hopper , so I decided that if I'll become bilionaire I will buy 20/30 titanium plus 100 batteries and, why not, some spare parts and accessories . Just to be sure to get a working one. As for now , soon nine months waiting for a stupid RMA of a little metal piece broken, like many others here , I landed to other vapes . Because the real question is not "how does my vape perform now , just opened the pack " but "how will it perform in 1 , 2, 5, ten years "? It's not only a money question : does it work for sure , for example if you travel abroad , or if you got to take it for medicine ? The one I got now is sure that works 100% and also it will in ten years , don't bet on the GH . Really hope for a change of direction , with the new labs some of you are talking about. As said long time before I prefer to pay for an accurate setup sons a infinite lifetime warranty. But they said that no , I have to wait , free but in several months. Let see what happens , nothing to lose I will be happy to change my opinion .

HL replied to my RMA inquiry status:

“We are doing our best to get this to you as soon as possible. There is a large backlog as we were forced to stop producing critical heating components with our past manufacturer due to production problems leading to failure in the field. Bringing these processes in-house took over 7 months and created a service backlog that we are now working through. This has made the wait much longer than the normal two weeks and we are working as fast as possible to perform these upgrades on backlogged devices. The service and upgrades are free but do take time as we have only in the last two months started to return devices. Our estimation for October devices is 3-5 months currently. Again sorry for the long wait.”

So, it should be ready in 2 months. If I were a betting man, which I’m not, it looks more like April/May. We shall see...:peace:

I pick the MV1 over my SS and Ti GH regularly. It's more reliable and the flavor is better (the GH might have a slight edge on effect).

The Venus Apollo is a strange beast. It's expensive and a bit odd but it totally delivers. It quickly provides a substantial rip but the chamber area is exposed and without care, it can be a bit painful (I've only had small issues with this). The thing that annoys me about it is the controls. I always unscrew the battery cap because it seems to activate very easily. There is more to clean but none of it is difficult. I just throw all the shit in some 91% iso and things clean quickly. It's probably the hardest hitting vape I own but, given my family circumstances, I'm more prone to use the MV1 or one of my Firewoods.

i started a poll to see how hopper labs is doing with warranty rmas and hopefully you guys can all take part

so wheres your hopper?
In RMAville since mid September after 2.25 years of use, half of which was inconsistent and less than optimal. Some of the original batteries weren’t good either and I purchased a few more after Year 1 but consistency was lacking.:peace:

honestly i haven't messed with it in so long i had sent them in couple times each at least one had the blinking lights and somthing else with the other I dont remember then after they sent my green TI unit I think it litleallly failed first or secon hit i think and i was fed up at that point, i have trying to find a portable vape that gave me as good of a vaping experience, and I think for me the Stempod checks all the boxes, huge rips or small love being able to adjust air flow and power, number of coils types of coils ect..

As much as I love my GH, I’m finding I’m not using it at all these days. I think I’ve developed a mental block that it’d break my heart if it stopped working again which is a stupid reason not to use it. That, and I’m kind of annoyed that batteries are now $14USD each is just stupid expensive.

I’m rocking the Enano and SBJ at home for now with the Mighty if I feel I need something when I’m out and about. And I’m satiated. Funny eh?

Old & In the Way
One SS body that I rma'd less than a month ago has just been remedied. I had accepted HL's offer that they send me a body comprised of not necessarily new parts, and it arrived today. So, high scores on the time frame!

Appears to be virtually new but for maybe (?) some slight use-staining on rim of the chamber.
On first 2 chambers; Hits very nicely, used a bubbler at 4.2 and it's just about like the 3 others I've used before in terms of temp. range. I'm very happy to have this one working! And happy with the replacement deal.

LOL - I should’ve waited for the link. I’ll try not to stuff the ballot box. :peace:

EDIT: none of the options apply to me: my Hopper has been in for RMA for 4 months. I swear I took Poli Sci 189 - Surveys & Polls in college (a great course too). By the time it comes back it might be over 6 months (option 2). Of quandaries and conundrums...
should have covered all the months! sorry friend also should have allowed more then one vote but i was under the influence of my GH

Thanks for the poll! Let us know how it turns out and when the poll closes. One vote per person sounds about right. :peace:

Many thanks for your kind words man :) let's hope that it gets back like that..

This will be a significant 'upgrade' in my vaping experience once I have my pretty purple unit working agan. This time GH won't be my daily driver so that it lasts a bit longer this time.
Dynavap has managed to put themselves among the very best reliable and efficient vapes in the market and most certainly those vapes are built to last for a lifetime....
