The two units here from April have the dots, so I'd suspect it's the latest component spec. It'd make sense they'd indicate something, who knows what beyond alignment. But they might not signify anything important at all, it could be the exact form from the previous bill of materials but a different production batch, so it could be random if those parts are just grabbed from a mixed lot. The important parts reflecting age are the PCB design and component selection. I am not sure of any major change beyond early structural improvements, and the change to a 3 terminal switch. If there's any major change beyond that I'd have no idea as this is the first back end I've had with the different switch (used to have to double click after a time-out).If the white dots is an indication of newness the SS is new and ti is not.
What a jerk.. anyways guess I'm lucky to have the spare. Hopefully it doesn't take months to recieved a new backend
Do you mean your ring with serial number is broken?
It also is sounding like there are additional differences with other components in the back-end...
How do your back ends compare when it comes to auto time-out and repowering the device?
