If the white dots is an indication of newness the SS is new and ti is not.

The two units here from April have the dots, so I'd suspect it's the latest component spec. It'd make sense they'd indicate something, who knows what beyond alignment. But they might not signify anything important at all, it could be the exact form from the previous bill of materials but a different production batch, so it could be random if those parts are just grabbed from a mixed lot. The important parts reflecting age are the PCB design and component selection. I am not sure of any major change beyond early structural improvements, and the change to a 3 terminal switch. If there's any major change beyond that I'd have no idea as this is the first back end I've had with the different switch (used to have to double click after a time-out).

Do you mean your ring with serial number is broken?
It also is sounding like there are additional differences with other components in the back-end...

How do your back ends compare when it comes to auto time-out and repowering the device?

Obviously it's not a deal-killer — I think the Grasshopper's one hell of a battery vape — but it's frustrating that once vapor production really starts I have to clear the chamber because my lungs have pretty much filled to capacity. Feels like I'd need another half of a lung to get a complete hit.

Whether dry or through a water tool I almost always do a few small primer pulls that I don't inhale, just to get vape production going. Then I draw in earnest.

This is the latest response I sent to Hopper today on my Ti Bronze RMA. No need to comment, I believe. Its self-explanatory. :bang::bang::bang::bang::bang::bang::bang:

Drew - I received the new body today in the mail against this RMA.

As is clearly shown in the list of my registered GH, both are "Ti Bronze" and certainly the GH we are dealing with in this RMA is a "Ti Bronze".

Beyond all belief, Hopper sent me a "SS body". I'm flabbergasted.

To review the bidding, My GH failed and was received by Hopper under RMA on 1 Mar '18. ON 8 June it was shipped back to me.

Upon receipt, this "repaired" RMA'd GH was in fact found to still defective and runs VERY cold...unacceptably cold....to the point of non-functional cold.

So, I reopened the RMA and after a bit of communications confusion (with some caused by me), Hopper decided that the issue was the body and that rather than return the entire GH for repair, Hopper would send me a body...a body for my "Ti Bronze".

And you ended up shipping me a "SS body"!!

I'm speechless about this, disappointed in Hopper beyond words, and I cannot understand how this happened. You have the registration info on what type of GH it was, after all.

I have NOT used this new SS body, will gladly return it to you (please send me a shipping label if you want it back) but this "SS body" is NOT an acceptable warranty repair and I hope you would agree that what I deserve is a properly operating "Ti Bronze" body with which to restore my GH.

Drew...brother...this is getting silly.

Please advise as how you would like to proceed.​

If you unscrew the backend underneath where the copper button is; around that there is a ring with three indentations. In two indentions you can see a break in the metal in what I assume is a continuous ring


SS I can click and when it turns odd click once to start heating. The ti needs you be clicked off then clicked back on.

So ti is an older model. I think for now I'm able to use as is and no problems. Just whenever I get Blinky blues I wiggle the clicker till it stays solid, I'm guessing to get the ring aligned right and connection to the oven and not backend


@Baron23 use the SS till they send a new one... Maybe they didnt have the exact part and sent it on the fly. Didnt mention it to ya tho... Butjjust get a confirmation you can keep the SS on their mistake(again) ans have them send a new bronze body.

Indeed but I want to hear from them that they are sending me the right body and to keep the SS before I use it and end up having to buy it.

Yes, they might have been out of a part and a simple note to me through the RMA asking if a SS body would be ok until they get Ti Bronze....or would I rather wait until Bronze came in...would have been easy and appropriate, IMO.

Hope they get back to you soon and actually properly sort out your warranty case.
I think you should at least see if the new SS body functions as it should, it’d be a good indicator as to what to expect round 3. It’ll clean up just fine for when it’s returned. If it does function, perhaps send it back with the Bronze body so they can swap enclosures. What a nuisance though, for a vape company they sure aren’t scared of playing with fire.. makes me wonder what they’re thinking, did they run out of bronze tubes? Or was it an honest mistake? It’s a weird situation. I’m looking forward to reading their response. Good luck with it.

This is really a sad state of affairs. You know who loses? Us. The consumer. They’ll declare bankruptcy and start over as a new vape company. But us, we lost money. We lost time. And most importantly we lost hope. And once you lose hope, you are in dire straits.

I can’t foresee them lasting too much longer. Not with the way they treat their most loyal fan base.

My GV2 has been working like an absolute beast for a few weeks now. Why cant this company get out a reliable product by now? The treatment @Baron23 has received is so bad it is comedic.

I received an answer in two days with an apology for the delay. They said it would be shipped within days and sure enough, it showed up yesterday and it's working as well as it ever did.

So it's really weird how some people seem to receive satisfactory service and other people really seem to get shafted. If I were Baron23 I know I'd be pretty pissed off. I don't get it!

I'm not so sure about that, lots of apparently very squeaky wheels are still waiting, I politely asked one time and both my RMA and my new order were shipped as announced in the answer to my mail.

My new order arrived last week, and there are two difference to my RMAed one. When I bought the now repaired one, it really toasted the material at 5, darker than I like it. So I used it at 6 for the desired effect. After the repair, I had to set the dial to 5 to get the same effect. As I never liked to have the ABV that dark brown, it's fine for me. Battery life as before. The brand new one is close to combusting at 5, so I use it at 4, for equal results. But I can see how some people are a little frustrated with the repaired one

What really annoyed me: HL didn't confirm the shipment of the new Hopper (not a biggie) but also they didn't attach an invoice and customs declaration on the outside of the package, accessible from the outside. Which is sort of mandatory for shipments from 3rd countries to the EEC. So I had the choice of either traveling a couple hours to some distant hicktown customs office for the clearance or pay the shipping company 30$ to do it for me. There was just that white sticker stating "vaporizer accessories" and showing the value as $239 (full price for a SS Hopper and two extra batteries) whereas I only paid $165 (using that huge discount in spring) This caused another delay and an unpleasant phonecon with customs ("So what was the intended use again? Why does it show a total value of $239 when you allegedly paid so much less"). HL were less than helpful: they never even confirmed the shipment, and when I asked for an invoice showing the sellers address, it sort of turned into a skit from The Office. They told me to download it from their site (after I told them "The invoice I downloaded from your site doesn't show the full sellers address"). Quoting my mail telling them, that I already did that before I even asked. So when I asked them for an invoice with full address, their reply was to give me their street address, in the answer mail, quoting the full correspondence. Bummer... not sure if CRM bot or outsourcing to some faraway land. Customs was fine with it though, after I provided a copy of the paypal transaction. On their site, my order is (of course) still listed as pending.

Good thing is I have two perfectly working Hoppers now. Knock on wood...

I have a quick question... Is it a bad idea to drop the backend in ISO if it is not working?
I know its the backend as I have more than one hopper and swapped, etc...
It doesn't click on unless I'm at T5 and have cursed at it a few times, and if I move the temp dial it goes off, then maybe back on, etc... intermittent shit, plus the dial feels more "abrasive" than smooth like it should.

I ask this because if dropping it in ISO does not work, and then I send it in, I don't want to chance a voiding of the warranty....

Opinions?

Jeez, man, that's the kind of fuckup that burns me the most. I certainly hope that they let you hold on to the SS until they send the bronze body to you. Idiots.

Yess , they sent an email : personnel changes and restructuring of our customer support services etc. so the end of the story is that I have to wait months . Ok , in the meantime I'll try to forget it , like hundreds times in my life I had to forget beautiful women just after a brutal, inurbane and upsetting night...

I have this exact same issue with my less then a week old RMA'd hopper. It's super annoying and I'm in no hurry to send it back to purgatory.

I can't even get a response about the 5 batteries they forgot to ship with my order.

There's nothing like this thing, but unless you own at least two, you're destined to be without for months at a time.

EDIT: What battery charger, other than HL's, would work with these batteries NOW THAT you cant get sleeves from Delta-3D? The batteries are skinny and don't line up in a Nitecore without those sleeves (which I'd bought a couple years ago when @Ratchett made them....

EDIT: What battery charger, other than HL's, would work with these batteries NOW THAT you cant get sleeves from Delta-3D? The batteries are skinny and don't line up in a Nitecore without those sleeves (which I'd bought a couple years ago when @Ratchett made them....
My grasshopper batteries line up fine in my nitecore...

I use my Nitecore charger with the Hopper batteries with no problem.

Yesterday my US courier came along with my new GH Ti.
Scratchless finish, but all the threads are a bit rough and make a light scratchy noise while screwing also the dial is going less smooth than my old SS. Hope it will become better in use by the time

We had a sesh with 3 persons and a water piece.
3 bowls in a row, hit after hit.
And? No blue flickering, no clicking noises while heating, hopper body just got hand warm, no hot backend, even vapour is smoother and cooler if used natively. Nice relation of cloud and flavour at 3.5, cloud city >4.0. ABV is getting just a darker brown at 5.0.
First impression - works awesome! Hope it will last.
