I took my GH to the Rockies game Saturday night, so here is some real world user experience. Although I live in Colorado, we were going to the game with a friend of mine's dad so I had to be discrete. I first packed a full bowl figuring I would prefer convenience over flavor in this situation. I gotta say, you get a LOT of hits from a full pack, like well over 20 and if you really start at temp 2 and really are diligent about temp stepping you can get to hits 15-16/temp 4 before its really "begone dull care" taste. Also at the lower temps bathrooms stalls and bar patios you can take hits just fine. Its super stealth and trust me you're getting plenty of effect at those low temp settings.
Coors field has metal detectors so I took the GH out of my pocket it and put it in the bin with my keys and wallet so it was right in the open and nobody said anything about it all.
During the game, I would just go with my buddy that smokes cigarettes and rip the GH there and again it was no problem. Also after the first bowl was done I changed my mind and went back to just crushing smaller loads till they're done in 5-6 hits because after 3 weeks I can walk and load the GH now so for me at least the "convenience" of a full bowl wasn't worth it when the benefit of fresh hits and a clean bowl after every "session" is so big. Plus after 6 hits I'm alway plenty high, no reason to have herb in the chamber even though its not like its cooking, but I do think having oils heat and re-cool in the chamber over time will increase the need to clean. I mean I just cleaned it today after two weeks of heavy use so maybe we're talking you would increase the frequency of cleaning by maybe a day or two, certainly not a week and everyone who has a GH will find their preferred usage method since its designed to be optimal as a PERSONAL device. (If you want an optimal GROUP vape, there are many on the market today so please don't try to twist what I am saying as a negative about the GH because it is the BEST PERSONAL PORTABLE vape that I've ever used and it seems most who have ACTUALLY USED ONE agree, regardless the other vapes they experience. I remember
@BuzzDanklin rated the Firefly higher for flavor, I suspect he has his Firefly technique down better than I do because I disagree, and on reddit, someoone posted how they prefer their GH to the Crafty so again, I have yet to hear the actual use review where someone said this product sucks).
Uggh sorry, I was taking GH rips before I started this post so I'm rambling, back on track, the last thing I was surprised about was the battery life. That has been the weakest point of the vape so far but I've been using it pretty hard. In a "real world" (READ: You actually can't just be smoking dope flagrantly all day, you have to actually be discrete, plan your trip, take your rips and be satisfied for awhile) situation, I was actually impressed by the battery life. I brought an extra battery with me but I never needed it. I was plenty high the whole game, it was just that instead of taking way more hits per hour than I actually "need" because hitting this thing is fun in its own right and the flavor is so good but I'm usually way past "medicated" I was just taking targeted, strategic opportunities. It was good to do that because it shows the effect you get per hit better. The cannabis I was using wasn't particularly strong, 11% thc sativa and it wasn't like I was BLAZED OUT OF MY MIND, I wouldn't want to be at the ballpark anyway, but I was plenty high for a recreational user and if I were a medical patient I think the GH could keep me medicated all day but that kind of user might actually go through the second battery. I definitely recommend getting a second battery and I definitely recommend bringing it because it would be a bummer to be without but I would say that for all but the heaviest users, the battery life might not be as bad as I originally thought.
Almost a month with the GH and I gotta say I'm
MORE impressed with it than I originally was and its been interesting to see how my own use patterns have changed. Like for example I was hanging with some friends that just love bong rips. Its their favorite way to consume. Its not that they don't like vapor, its that for them, its like why would I vape/eat/roll a joint/ smoke a bowl/do a dab etc. when there is a perfectly good bong right there? I also love bong rips don't get me wrong. It was interesting is because their method for bong rips is you pack the bong, pass it to someone and that person finishes the entire thing and then its the next persons turn. I figured OH THESE PEOPLE GET IT! So I showed them the Grasshopper. They were pretty impressed with it, particularly commented on the flavor of the vapor and the build quality.
Then they grabbed the bong and went right back to bong rips. Because as I've been saying, every method is its own experience and everyone will have their own preference. IF you prefer bong rips to vaping and you have $150 I would say get a bong instead of a GH. IF you prefer vaping to bong rips then I would say get a GH. I would never say if you prefer vaping to a bowl get a pax2/Firefly etc I would say get a GH. Of course is someone said they love spliffs but want to give up combustion (in other words keep the tobacco loose the fire) in that instance I would recommend the pax2 HANDS DOWN!
I on the other hand found I really do now just prefer the GH. Don't get me wrong I took plenty of bong rips but since my preference now is vaping generally and the GH specifically I gravitated towards it. This is precise the type of scenario the GH is intended for because it is a PERSONAL vaporizer!
