Discontinued The Grasshopper

get a Mighty or Crafty

Fuck that....the Crafty is no better for reliability and RMA than the GH IMO, and although the Mighty is better for that, it's also super expensive, and the conduction qualities definitely change the vape profile compared to the GH. Regardless, not much for comparing IMO.

My take on the grasshopper is that it gets pretty god damn hot on my lips at times (on mid setting) I don't use the rubber

Use the silicone! My bottom lip just finished completely healing up after 2 weeks. It fucking sucked. Never again without the silicone for me.

It's plug in so it produces the same results every time, no need to worry about weak batteries or anything.

The heat on the Nano can vary based on your electrical outlet....it's a simple dimmer so small adjustments could make a big difference. I also don't think you can load up to .25g like the GH....more like .1 max maybe? I used to own 2 Nano's, and it's a great device, but I was getting way too uneven loads and awful tastes many times, something I NEVER experience with the GH. I still think i'll own a Nano again one day.

Now I know I need THREE Claisens! That musta been awesome with the Gh's + Nano OMG!!

----------------

RMA QUESTION:

Do you cool cats insure your packages fully? Reason I ask is because i'm sending in 3 GH's together, should i insure them for the approximately $600? Does HL do that shipping it back? I'm confident in the durability of the product in shipping, but don't trust it actually reaching the destination (recently had $600 worth of Minivap kit go "lost").

I insured my first return to HL and will definitely be insuring the last return when I get round to posting it back (it's just the body though).

I just don't want the item getting lost and HL refusing to complete the warranty request.

Predict $199ss and $249ti GH prices....suppose it could be more though.. I wish they would do a bundle, like 2 GH's for a discount, or a SS+Ti.... but most of all I wish they would do discounts on multiple silicone mouthpieces, like maybe 5 packs, or 5 packs of batteries for a bit of a discount. I'm sure it's coming.

I still remember the time when they let me know about the sleeves that were not available, which I only found out once I had received all units. Then they offered to compensate the difference with something else since I didn't want to wait any longer.
There were around 2-3 emails that day trying to figure out what option would be best. I tried convincing them to send me 3 batteries instead and Caroline was ready to issue a $1 paypal order for it, which totally dissapointed me. I also told her that time that this attitude, not even sparing a $1, wouldn't get them anywhere. I had just received 3 hoppers while waiting almost a year and they wouldn't even "gift" me $1... As you can understand, we ended up settling it with two batteries, a mouthpiece and a GH sticker!! :p (initial amount was $20 for two sleeves).
So, I'm not so sure about that confidence of yours man..It'll be a really clever move from their side, but I think that they're still trying to make the most of their revenue...

HL website prices are $175 for SS and $225 for TI as of this morning.

FWIW, my Crafty is still going strong, no failures ever, have had it for almost two years and gets a lot of use. Delicious and effective.
My Hopper, which I've had since August 16 has had 2 RMAs and also gets a lot of use. Delicious and effective.
My Sticky Brick...what RMAs? Mind-numbingly delicious and effective.

Aside: 600 freaking pages! You hopperheads are nuts!

If HL is reading this thread, include a freaking brush!

I bet it's not for the sake of the $1 but because of some legal stuff. Had the same experience with MFLB warranty they wouldn't add something even if I pay because of general terms and conditions

That's impressive, but hopefully you didn't speak too soon....according to Randy of Puffitup, Crafty's mostly go between 90-110hours. It amazes me that your heatup speed is so fast at your crafty's age. I've owned a bunch of these in the past, and after about 30 hours, the heatup time was close to 3 minutes. And the performance was even worse.

The GH blows the Crafty/Mighty out of the water IMO. Just like the Solo, the S&B portables are like horse & buggy now.

It's like once you taste that 5 second heatup, you can't go back to 1-2 minutes! But that's just me, I severely lack patience as life seems to be just flying by way too quickly for me!

My PAX2 hasn't been used since I received my Hoppers. It's not that I dislike the device, it's just the Hopper is better in every way except sessioning.

I just got my email confirming they have shipped back my hopper from service BUT ...

"Shipped Parts

Repaired Grasshopper: Stainless"

Did they forget to include the batteries and meh... charger ? or do they not list it ?

really wondering if I should email them and ask them about it, but no idea if I am just being paranoid

just dont want the disappointment off have to wait an extra two weeks for batteries

Hey @moondog , not that I care, but how did you get my post to be @beiberhole69 's quote?
What trickery is this?
My plan was to chronicle all my witticisms and sell the rights to a biographer. Clearly this throws a monkey wrench into my plans!

There's a chance I am nuts but I don't care to confirm.

Those are the same as yesterday's prices, right?
They don't even seem to get the timing of a price hike right...

I hereby ring in in defense of Mighty. Call me sentimental, but it's been a wonderful 2 years. Consistent and dependable, in my book two qualities that are still lacking in the Hopper. Mighty provides a social enabling with it's session capability and is the go-to for honey and me spending quality time together. Not counting accessories, Mighty has amortized to about $0.70 US per day. We do sometimes Hop alone together (each with own Hopper) but it's just not the same.

Apparently the prices changes during checkout.
That sounds like bait and switch.
We here happen to know about the price change, and the website might mention it buried somewhere, but a shopper looking at the sales page and putting one in their cart sees they are about to pay $175. I just did it. Does the price then change at checkout? This does not seem right/fair to me.

They don't usually list it all, but typically it all comes back.

$10 increase. Not as bad as I expected.

Indeed, very reasonable almost negligible price bump!! Let's hope that those $10 xtra will go for thorougher GH checkups before shipping out or maybe in a personal CS phone line, especially for those multi-colored/faded away TIs!! :myday::rant:
I was logged in HL's as well, almost 3-4hrs ago and I was trying out the cart to see whether I'd get any price change on the checkout or not :p I didn't think that they'd update it today... but hey, when it comes to profit, you definitely don't wanna make a bad impression...:brow:

EDIT: Woohooo... 200th post!! hell yeah!! :sherlock::science:

Looks like my Hopper is coming back at half speed. No way it will reach me by Friday...

...But if I buy a 2nd SS Hopper from Ausvapes and go Express I'll have a Hopper on Friday.

Don't think they've adjusted for price rise so I can tell myself it's a good deal...

Hmmm....
