I admire the optimists, I too always want to stay optimistic. And I agree that there's prob more bad press the FC community sees, and there are prob a lot of good working units we'll never hear about. But from an overall numbers standpoint, it's tough to stay positive with the overwhelming amount of bad stories vs the handful of success stories. Averages don't often lie.
If (say) 30 people on FC reported getting a hopper, and (say) 15 were bad, that's a 50% success rate. I don't believe the average of people we never hear from is any different. The only outlier is the fact that some post on FC and others don't. Would the numbers be different for 30 non FC posters that got hoppers? I don't believe so. Then, add on that, that one unique person may have multiple issues with bad units, now the # of instances rises (but the customer headcount does not) making the success rate even lower.
Related: My buddy's hopper was sent back last eek. They got it on Dec 8 and it's slated to be delivered back to him on Dec 18. So, a ten day turnaround time for those of you keeping score at home.
