I agree. There was never any mention of hands and that this was caused by assembly. I would imagine it is left over residual oils from the manufacturing process.
@Ratchett what kind of accessories are you thinking of? Maybe an alternate mouthpiece that's slightly longer and/or has a glass interior?
Other people have supposed that a nitecore would work. Grasshopper also recommended a specific charger to the holiday backers who opted to get their hopper without a charger, the link to it was posted late in the old Grasshopper thread, I don't remember what kind it was. The Grasshopper battery is a li-ion not a lipoI apologize if this has been asked already, i actually think it has but i never saw a answer. I am wondering if a aftermarket charger such as the nitecore will be able to charge the Gh's proprietary battery ? I know some have said it is a lipo battery and that the nitecore's will not charge that type of cell.
Now do it a dozen times in a row after only touching it the first time.
Does anyone else find humor in the self righteous indignation from some for a product that has only just started shipping (which is based on a single observation/observer)? seems like we would do well for some critical analysis once we get a sample size larger than one (technically 7/8 did not observe this behavior, which is not to say that it wasnt present, just that the local consciousness wasnt aware and did not notice or record this event) .. esp after it has been directly referenced/addressed. If you dont trust Trevor at his word, then youd probably do well not to trust his product either. Should we want to verify, we would probably wait till we can form a base of information to work with and address either as a community, with the company, or both!

Yup, this is the normal cycle, over the weekend it'll get more positive coming up on the next update, then move back to speculation-based characterization, and repeat, until big shipments go out. Lot of diners, many at the table for a long time, still very little food.So you're new here eh?
I think the "oil from our hands" explanation is total bullshit. Does anyone think that the amount of skin oils that could be transferred by simply handling that tiny heater is enough to make visible vapor for SEVERAL heating cycles?
As long as it can burned off, guess it doesn't really matter, but I don't buy it...

I find the explanation plausible but skepticism is good. I'm equally skeptical that someone did a burnoff and witnessed burnoff vapor for 15 cycles, I wasn't there to witness that either.

We here at FC take pride in our self righteous indignation. We wear it as a badge of honor.
technically one discussed the off gassing... Midget went right into trying it out and tested the off gassing after he had already vaped with the GH so its not the most accurate off gassing testingTwo production units have shipped. Both report potentially disturbing off-gassing (though clearly we don't know exactly what is happening with these units, yet).
Where did you find official instructions to burnoff your Solo? But, at least, I could "bake" the smell out of my Solo. How do you easily do that with a Grasshopper? What are the official instructions regarding this?
Right, and I wouldn't need one for a Solo, because it's kind of obvious. You turn it on maximum, and wait until it doesn't smell anymore.Where did you find official instructions to burnoff your Solo?
No manufacturer produces an official "burnoff guide" for their vape
And, it seems to me, that this is something they should be doing for us at the factory, with something designed for that purpose. It would also be an additional way for them to test each unit before shipping it.
