Discontinued The Grasshopper

But I like it!
I sent an email in yesterday to update my address, and got a response next day saying it was done. Not really exciting, but at least I know there is someone answering emails, and thats always a good sign!

(retreats, sits on hands, unsits on hands, and vapes, while looking questioningly towards the mailbox, in a westerly direction... )

I'm excited to say I have 3 pieces, and two friends coming. I've been gathering snippets of video to put together, going over details of the Grasshopper users have asked about and so on.

But, such abundance of things will add a little time to the final video. My 2 friends are bringing a piece of theirs (at least one that I know of anyway), so that will be 4 new pieces plus the 4 I already have put to use.

Waterpipes galore! Swiss recycler, D020, and Pinnacle Pro.

I also ordered a new battery because I decided I'd like a little more leniency off the charger. While it adds to the time on the charger over-all (2 batteries to get charged), it's been nice. If I forget to charge one and drain it, popping in the other to satisfy me, then swapping them back and putting it on the charger has been wonderful.

There were a couple times on one battery where friends would get shafted for a half hour because it needed to charge, then led to a game of "charge-tag". I think it's safe to say that one battery is not a session vape, but 2 could make it into one.

I'd have to say that I get a good ten minutes out of a session and with 1 battery I get 5 strong sessions, Usually finishing off with high temps too. It is definitely all in how you use it.

Sorry, I meant session as in 4+ people, and for an extended amount of time; I should have clarified haha. The low battery only ever happens when it doesn't come off the charger. Otherwise, the battery is more than enough for a single person for an extended amount of time. I always temp step from 1-4, sometimes 5.

So, as long as the blue lights are on, the heating chamber is active?

Reason I ask is that I can take a hit, 5sec later, take another and the blue lights go off. They always go off around 18 sec after a click on and the lights go red to blue. Despite taking hits during that 18 sec period, it never resets and goes an additional 18 sec.

Maybe it requires a pretty strong draw to sense and reset the 18 sec?

faulty draw sensor? does it always do this, or only occasionally? Try drawing as hard as you can (don't have to have herb in it) and see if it resets the 18 second countdown.
either it's not a hard enough draw to trip the sensor, or the sensor is faulty, i'd say.

I remember reading that the draw sensor requires a fairly strong draw to cancel the auto shutoff.

Just a quick update.

Since I got my updated body, it's been working flawlessly (about 2-3 weeks). No issues on the back end heating up, charging, or anything of the sort. I think the GH team is figuring it out, and they'll be around for awhile.

However, after they finally finish tweaking the GH I imagine all of them will be taking a long vacation. I can only imagine the stress they go through each day. As much flak as Trevor and the GH team gets, they've been doing a spectacular job (minus the past updates which spread false hope). Quick e-mail replies, refunds, sending replacements, etc.

This is exactly what was happening with mine before it crapped the bed. No draw detection. I was suck'n hard too. How long have you had it?

Good lord they're quick! I sent it back a day and a half ago cross-country. Although I'm not sure I like the answer. At least if it fails again I know I'll be taken care of. Top shelf service.

"We received your Grasshopper today. After taking a look at it, we determined that the Battery and Charger were malfunctioning. Both items have been replaced and we are sending the unit back to you."

Has it been established yet whether the GH batteries will work in the Nitecore D2/D4? I know it's been asked before but can't find the answer anywhere.

I'm using my 4 GH batteries with my D4 and everything seems to be fine so far, it's even easier to put them in the right position for them to charge than I thought, no real need to play with them to make the contacts on both end.
They charge super quickly (30+ min maybe) but I guess it's because of their low capacity and they stop charging at 4.20 like I believe they should.
That said I'm not sure what's GHL take on chargers other than the one they've recommended so disclaimer bla bla bla...

Let me also add that the Xtar VC4 is another top all round charger for around $22 delivered. The Xtars and Nitecores are probably the top 2 selling chargers globally. Just make sure you buy from a reputable source as both lines are widely counterfeited. They both should come with counterfeit resistant stickers/numbers that you can check to verify authenticity.

Took a deeper pull after the first, n that was the tik. Will probably just shut off after the first and just click on when ready.

Love it and well my goto over the pax2/mflb/crafty. Still like the pax2 for longer sessions n when sharing with others. I can kill a load in a GH by myself 2-4 hits or so. Double or triple with the pax, but it takes double or triple.

Can't lowering the temp on the hopper make for longer sessions with it? What do you like about the hopper over the crafty?

Yes it does my friend SWG!

Kind of convenient for a guy like me! :)

I receieved my Ti Hopper yesterday and so far I am really impressed!

There are a few things I would change but I really like the discrete form factor and quick heatup. I have to get the hang of where I want my temps. set but its super tasty and did I mention this thing is quick?

I am generally a session type vaper so I appreciate the larger capacity you get in the GH pen style vape. That is rare from my experience. That said I will probably stick to some of my other vapes for sessions and use this for maintenance hits (similar to how I use my ESV) or for quick high temp rips through a bubbler. I can see that being really handy when time is limited.

Since I work for Haze I probably won't be putting too many of my suggestions on the thread. I don't want them perceived as criticism. Many of you already know that I am a vape junkie like so many others here (see signature). I am fond of my Haze but I use a lot of other portables and desktop units as well. The Hopper is going to fit nicely in my collection! Special thanks to my friend @ShayWhiteGrow for taking care of me. :)
