Discontinued The Grasshopper

This audible clicking could be the different thermal expansion rates of the components involved, as the grasshopper heats up and cools down. How loud is it, could this compromise the gh's stealth abilities?

Well, that's a bummer.....
agreed It's the only thing keeping me from saying I love it.

The ticking on mine is very quiet you literally have to put your ear to it to hear it. It's a very fast tick also.

When I hear the vapor compared to the Pinnacle Pro I get nervous. Too harsh of vapor for me unless I was on heat level 1 without a WT. The too short of air path might be a deal breaker, I will have a wait and see attitude.

I would compare it to PNP or INH in that regard.

Thanks for the comparison, @gosaints420 . That's basically what I was afraid of. I don't know why I keep my hopes up with this sort of design thinking someone will nail the harsh issue. I could only use the PNP on the first three settings and the INH on about 5 or 6. My main concern for this vape, outside of production issues, is how the vapor feels. I've never used a portable vape that put the bowl right at my lips that wasn't too harsh to use on higher temps.

Yeah i kinda expected this to have harsher vapor, But i hope it's just hot harsh and not weird taste/harsh vapor. I guess i will be finding out.

I consider harsh vapor if it makes you cough when you don't want to. It's not just the heat when it comes to harshness factor. It defeats one of the reasons I vaporize when my vapor is hard on my lungs.

I'm not saying the GH will do this because I have no idea as most folks don't yet. I've been hoping for something fantastic.

Yeah exactly, that dry scratchy feeling, which can lead to a lot of coughing after the fact. Something that happens to me a lot with session conduction portables, never as bad with on demand convection (some of mine are super smooth in fact!) but short vapor path on GH could be big impact, maybe Ti also has slightly hotter/harsher vapor even?

Drives me nuts when I get a super stealth unit like this or the Inhalator and then I have to stick a big, obvious piece of tubing on the end of it to be able to use it.
Surely someone could make a SS threaded extended version, maybe even GHL themselves (if they can stop the damn thing from constantly failing, they could get back to developing).

Happy to say I finally received my shipping notice. I should have my Ti unit on Monday. Should be able to add to the growing number of reviews shortly there after.

Don't mean to offend you. At least the mivape guys are onboard and do reply and care about the issues. Wish I could say that about GHL. :(
@vapen00b Not sure that's a fair statement. The MiVaoe guys drug folks through their waiting game over many years, some may have lost their money due to credit card return expiration problems, without ever delivering the product.
The Grasshopper guys had a rocky start here at FC, they aren't avoiding us without reason. I threw a bit of coal on that fire myself.

It's totally nice to hear that your experience is so awesome, really - sadly I have barely heard of positive reviews. Always sounds a lil pro-GHL and defending what I can read from you compared with what other people report, along with devastating feedback - quality wise.
:)

Try to remember, as many FC brethren have already mentioned. You always hear more complaints than compliments regarding product reviews. People are outspoken when their purchases run into technical issues, but people rarely reach out to say, "Hey, my thing worked correctly!" They just go about using it.
And again, this thread was hardly the GHL fan club way back when.

A potentially revolutionary device is on the crest of a wave that might change the vaping landscape, or crash against the rocks. We wait and hope.

Not saying there isn't some genuine turbulence with the units, but there's still a chance that GHL can make this work.
Watch my tone change next week.:)

True. There's another side to that, in which a FC lurker posts they got their vape and it's working well. They go on with life. If in a few months if there are problems, they might not come back to report it. Everyone is most excited, positive and negative, at the beginning. I've had a couple of vapes that crapped out after a while, or weren't quite as good as they seemed during the honeymoon period. For whatever reason I didn't circle back to the threads to report, I just moved on to the next vape (always a next vape, symptom of VAS). Because of this it can be difficult to judge long term reliability.

As far as FC members who have been here since they backed the GH many many moons ago- do you think they AREN'T going to post when they receive it, whether they are sharing good or bad news? How many posts are we seeing over in the shipping thread of "got my address comfirmation!" "Got my tracking number!!".

I know about the truism of only hearing from the people who have a complaint, but I'm not convinced that applies within this community.

I did a search, but didn't get proper answer, but how many hours/minutes does the battery last on average? Better than the Pax 1, same, or not as good?

My Mind Is Free
You get about 30-40 10 second draws per battery charge seems to be the consensus.

Shit, 108 pages of folks raving about how tasty the vapor is, and how smooth the low temp hits are.

1 guy comes on and says he doesn't like the taste, and well... we FC it. Best metaphor I could come up with.

Cheers.

After we get more consences, I think the jury is still out. We are still speculating because there hasn't been very many working units in the hands of FC members. The folks waiting are anxious but would just assume wait until more units don't appear faulty.

Inhaling vapor doesn't necessarily require one to pull directly into the lungs in one long throat-irritating pull. You can puff a full vapor load into your mouth and THEN inhale, thereby negating the otherwise direct heat and throat irritation. You can also pull in vapor through partially open lips allowing cool air to mix with the vapor. There are many ways to skin a cat with vapes.

Unless, of course the GH senses the reduced flow and shuts down? A week or two back wasn't there a lot of concern with reports that unless you it it very hard it shuts heating off?
