Yeah exactly what i was wondering, ive been looking but i cant seem to find much. the only thing i really get is that the top of the other units use a shinier (lol) plastic top. But the ti version could use that as well. Idk if its just color, im not too impressed, I much prefer the other two.

I received my new PVHE GonGs today, both a 14mm and a 18mm. Both have the Turbo option. Basically a thin glass ledge to hold a screen, 95% open.
They also have the channels cut in the outside, and the groves on the end.

I have tried them both now, and can compare them to my original PVHE GonG. The airflow is obviously increased significantly. My biggest issue is the tight fit of the 18mm GonG in my Air. It was difficult to insert the first time, with the unit fully heated. It has since gotten a bit easier but that just means the gasket/seals have stretched. Unfortunate.
I originally got a 14mm GonG to work with a PNWT and through a bubbler using a 18mm-14mm reducer. When they got new stock at PV I decided to get the 18mm to try it without the reducer, why not get the turbo option to increase airflow?
After initial testing I think the 18mm GonG has too much airflow. At least for the Air to keep up. I got much lighter vapor using this stem. Even on red.
I then tried the new, turbo 14mm GonG. And it blew serious clouds! Hardcore, lung busting, insane clouds!

14mm PVHE Turbo GonG is my new favorite!

Informative analysis of the 14mm and 18mm turbo stems, thank you. When I first read your post I didnt want to believe it, because I had an 18mm turbo on the way to my house, and I bought it for the reasons of having an easier draw and atleast the same vapor volume as the normal Air stems. But now that i've received and used it several times, I realize that you are right.

First of all, it's difficult to insert the GonG into the chamber, even when heated up. You don't hear that familiar "click" when it hits the bottom of the chamber like the regular stems (because it doesn't reach the bottom). There was a gentleman in a recent post that said he broke his PVHE Gong while inserting it; I can see this easily happening if you are not overly careful.

Second point: You are right that the 18mm Turbo provides too much airflow and not enough vapor, which is a big letdown for me, because I bought this GonG for the main purpose of using it as a dry mouthpiece.

Another issue with the GonGs is that the glass is significantly thicker than the normal stems, making the heat up time longer and less consistent (heater light blinks in warm-up mode in between draws much more often than normal stems), which also translates to less vapor and more air.

I am really curious about the 14mm turbo GonG now, since you've raved about it. One nice thing about the Gongs when used as a mouthpiece: the frosted tip stays alot cooler than the glass Air tube, or even the MP tube. This is useful for prolonged sessions.

Any difference between 2014 and 2015 models besides the battery level indicator?

If the ONLY difference is the indicator, I'll order a second unit from a cheaper source.

A little tip if you feel there is to much airflow using the pvhe' gong and even stems is to twist it a drop while inhaling with heater off until you get the right amount of airflow that it is good for you . There are only 4 holes in the heater and 4 channels cut in the stems and gongs. A small twist will reduce or increase your airflow. You can get it so you have just a tiny bit of airflow or a whole lot more as the holes cut in glass can be blocked half way or all the way or slightly just by that small twist and a inhale to see where you prefer it. I actually really like the pvhe's and decided to cut all my stems like them to mimic there airflow and than I can tailor it to my liking with the twist method .

@ilikechinesefood, I think the titanium is just referring to color. Those that have not jumped on the Air band wagon you don't know what you are missing. Finally a stealth portable vaporizer than has great flavor. Also many different mouthpieces to use. An awesome unit.

Go with Puffitup for wonderful cs.

I just might buy my wagon ticket from Puffitup. Il prob get a silver one though, and not a ti, as i also believe the ti would constitute an increased price..unless we have all been gettin lied to.....

New conspiracy? Anyone?

So pv is out of everything besides the turbo. The horror..... srsly just as im about to order.

Is turbo really a bad choice?

alright guys, well i have been reading all the posts from you all, its been nice reading what everyone has got to say, i have had my air a while now and have put her through many tests. ive been enjoying this vape so much its probably why i haven't posted anything at all, no time, yes, this tool is quite impressive.

i got all black, the first ones, with no battery check, i did get a long solo stem as well but i never use it.. i do also have a mouthpiece-less stem, the 70mm one i think and i really enjoy that one as well. i also got a spare battery and while two batteries cuts it close, i can do it. i will for sure get a third.

i don't know if i have really anything new to add to the discussion other than another totally amazing reaction from yet another person, i love this thing so much. i use it anytime and anywhere.

i wanted to share how i use it based that its on for 10 minuets. usually i can't finish a whole stem in the 10 minuets, i mean, i can but the reason i say i can't and usually don't is because there is still vapour to be had from this vape after the 10 minuet mark, and for the bowl size and so, i think that is one of the greatest things about it.

i turn it on, my favourite temp to start is white, and do that till it fees right, tends to be about 3 minuets after the blue heating light goes solid.. and then ill turn the unit off, and just turn it back on again and let it turn itself of the second time but on the second round ill start on white, then bump up through green, or go directly to yellow/red to finish off.. i guess i can do this 4 times perhaps 5 with one battery so im pretty happy.

for getting just a bit more vapour if you think its done, what i do is kind of "walk" the stem, thats a paintball term for when you "walk the trigger" its a two finger action to be able to really let the paint balls fly, and i just kind of do that on the stem while its in the unit for a few seconds from one side, then the other, sometimes i just take the stem out upside down and just flick it like that as well, the contents seems to jumble around, so i figured it jumbles around as well when the stem is in there, it seems to get you a few more alright little clouds if you are able to mix it up right..

i find it really does the job extraction wise.. of course it seems to be that the darkest parts of the material are the ones closest to the bottom of the chamber.. i don't get a uniform bake in the sense that the bottom is usually quite dark, almost black haha, probably because im no stranger to the yellow and red temps when finishing off stems, but the rest of the ABV is a nice coffee brown.. i guess thats how it should be.

reaction from other people: when im out and about on the streets its really nice to use, people don't look twice, otherwise im just at home or at university. ive been out at bars and stuff, most people think at first its a e cig. im like yep, its just about the most magical e cig money can by... and im really the only one in my circle of friends who has a machine like this so far but they all seem to be fairly impressed, not just with in how well it works but design, size, and the aura of it all, this microheater really takes you to 2015 and beyond..

lastly i just wanted to share that today, and THIS is why i wanted to finally log in and write all this, i actually dropped my air whilst standing on a stone wall, with ought the skin, i can't be sure but it was at least more than 6 feet, onto a ceramic garden pot, and then she tumbled to the ground that was brick..

there i was all spaced out and somehow the darn thing slipped from my hand, it landed around the back where the charging port was, im guessing on the rim of the pot, then it must have flipped off that and tumbled to the ground.. somewhere between all that tumbling the stem , the ALL MIGHTY SHORTY  , actually ejected from the unit itself and i found it laying, thank GOD, all in one piece, although the black mouthpiece has a scuff. the unit also has some dings, not like indentations, but just scratches, so it really held up great in accordance..

after while inspecting the stem and the air my hands and fingers were seriously trembling, i was really put through some sort of shock watching it tumble to the ground into the blackness of the night..

anyway, im glad to report that other than scratches it seems to be fine. the unit even stayed on when i dropped it, and i haven't noticed anything different since using it after the 'incident'

hmm what else.. to get more airflow i just gently twist the stem, holding the glass, up out of the unit a fraction of a mm, i only have to really do this with the short no mouth piece tipped stem though..

overheating on this unit? has not yet happened to me, and like i said before i almost exclusively use it the way described above.. sometimes i even wait around the 5 or 6 minuet mark to shut it off and start right up again, just depends how many times ive ripped it.

i guess thats it! hope it was enjoyable to read, it was hard to write, but im pretty sure that is sir air's fault.
my ONLY question is this, even though i dropped it and so on, if it still works and turns on and heats is there anything to be worried about? specifically cracked parts pertaining to heating elements and so on.. i know that the heating element is ceramic, im worried that somehow it has a crack and if this would have any affect on the unit or be hazardous to me??

TIA!

I enjoyed your post. Welcome to FC. It's sounds like your fall didn't turn out too bad. If your unit continues to perform as intended I wouldn't worry. It's good to know that it basically held up. Nothing wrong with a few scratches.

This unit has very good flavor and doesn't stand out in a crowd, it's very stealth. From what you say a very sturdy device that will survive a fall, that's always good to know. I can be clumsy at times.

I take my Air on the walking trails and nobody even acts like they notice. Even though cannabis is legal in WA state we are not suppose to use it in public.

Happy vaping.

OK disagree with me, I can't force you to be right
I received my Titanium Air from PIU yesterday (all hail Randy ) but couldn't use it until today.

I have a black one from the original BF sale by Arizer and there are some differences, most of which have been mentioned already. I went with the Ti because I seem to have tons of silver or black vapes already. In person it looks nicer than the pictures. Guess its all about the lighting.

This one came with the longer mouthpiece stem and a shorty solo type stem. The gasket hole in the mouthpiece stem seems to be bigger. The most significant thing seems to be some temperature differences. I've only done a little experimenting so far but the Ti seems to run a little hotter at each stage. I usually run at blue or white and then finish off at a higher setting, but found that I didn't move up past white with the Ti and the ABV was most definitely darker. In a couple of side by side tests with the Black version the Ti ABV always came out darker at each stage.

Anybody else have an OG Air and a newer Air to confirm a possible change? Wrote an email to Arizer, but its Sunday so....

I do like the Ti color in person. Makes a nice, but not garish or candy like change from the usual black and silver.

:peace:

I have taken to using a 14mm PVHEGonG as a mouthpiece, It's a little hot on the higher temperatures but fine (for me) at around Green... the flavour is incredible, and I prefer the airflow.

Really love the way the Air feels in my hand too - much more comfortable to hold than the Solo.

I9crSy8.png

That's exactly how i role when I'm out of the house.

I always finish on red which is harsh on the throat but doable. Just by doing a real slow draw.

The frosted gong part is thicker than a normal stem. So it doesn't get hot and won't burn your lips

But when home i use the PVHES straight stem. Reduces the harshness on red tremendously.

If i want to use my Pinnacle WT. I use a PVHES 14mm turbo gong for the increased air flow. Which IMO is needed when using the WT.

A little tip if you feel there is to much airflow using the pvhe' gong and even stems is to twist it a drop while inhaling with heater off until you get the right amount of airflow that it is good for you . I use to do the same thing with my Solo.

Still do with the Air and love that feature of all the PVHES.

Speaking about vortex, im almost aboutta say fugget bout it :(. Really feelin the urge to just buy everything finally as ive been waiting:tinfoil: since i wanted to save on shipping. I wish they gave updates.

If you message PlanetVape on the supporting retailers page, they will respond there.

I asked them to hold my Air order until a vortex stem came in stock and they did.

Reminder to all USA potential Air customers if you purchase from a Canadian vendor you are getting an additional saving of about 20% due to US dollar strength vs Canadian.

Planet Vape sells the Air for $224.97

Apparently all authorized retailers are supposed to sell them for $259.99

Is this a PV discount? How can they get away with the lower price?

This isn't a shot at PV, I know they're WELL trusted and authorized. Just curious.

Because they make money on it anyways I'm sure. They aren't forced into a contract like S&B and other manufacturers. If you can sell more then a competitor and still make money, why wouldn't you?

Oh, okay. I thought Arizer forced their authorized retailers to use their fixed price just like Pax and some others.

Hmm thanks man i may just have to do that. If they allowed such an option id have no problemos with them whatsoever. Too baked rn tho lol....

on the supporter page they told you to contact them through their website? Did you end up doin that?

About pv and their price..Maybe they're just more chilled out in the northern climates. lol. I do like when there's choices tho. But if i still get the free battery that would be dope and hence why im waiting.

Always charge batteries before first use!

Always. Most makers recommend 'overcharging' (compared to normal times) by several hours. Five hours (for a unit like Air that normally charges in two) to overnight being common. Not doing so can permanently limit the maximum charge.

Once again, the Q Man is wise.

Nice tip, thanks. I will definitely try that out tonight. I've experimented a bit more with the 18mm Turbo GonG as a mouthpiece. And I've realized that if you let it heat up for a while (about twice the length of time of a regular stem) before taking your first drag, it vapes quite nicely. It's important to take into account the increased thickness of the glass and prepare accordingly. I would advise to wait past the time of the warm-up light even when it turns solid. Also, taking lighter drags from it (lighter than regular stems) will give the Air more time to produce vapor, and will keep the heating more consistent. The technique you use can be the difference between getting thick or thin clouds. And I'm sure the "twist" method Justpassedu mentioned also affects it.

So pv is out of everything besides the turbo. The horror..... srsly just as im about to order.

Is turbo really a bad choice?

Don't get me wrong, I think the turbo is a really good choice. I was expecting too much out of it as strictly a dry mouthpiece, which is not the main purpose of it. It was originally intended to be used as an adapter for a water tool, but people realized that you can use it as a mouthpiece as well. And for this purpose I have no doubt that it is effective. As a mouthpiece, I love that the frosted tip stays cool throughout long sessions. It's like an MP stem, except the MP is made out of frosted glass instead of plastic. For these reasons I think a non-shorty non-turbo would work beautifully.

Got the air last week as scheduled. Really put it through the ringer this weekend. Loving it. Mine does have the battery indicator. I find white and green settings to give off the best flavor and effects with some decent clouds. I've taken out to yellow and red but unless I'm short on bud I don't think I'll be going there often.

I'd get 4 sessions per charge before my battery initiator is red. I think I could squeeze out 5 sessions but I don't want to tax the battery too much. Plus, it's a good excuse to pull out the solo.

Speaking of which I have been using the short Air stem with the plastic cap along with my solo as a second vape for when friends visit and they all love it. I guess they didn't like the hits from the longer solo stems.

Here is a image of the aromatube I stealthed using black SSV tube. Ain't that slick? It also keeps it more cool to the touch. Even Bob looks more stealthy. ;)

stealth_tube.jpg
I have seen another member do this and i think it looks pretty cool. As for stealth factor i do not agree. The air to me looks like most e cigarettes and most of them have a clear glass chamber with liquid in it. I feel keeping the chamber visible with the air makes it look more like a E Cigarette imo . If someone was to stop and ask me i would most likely say i am running low on liquid at the moment rather than trying to hide the chamber.

Nice tip, thanks. I will definitely try that out tonight. I've experimented a bit more with the 18mm Turbo GonG as a mouthpiece. Np buddy. I have been doing this myself . i usually start at green with the pvhe's and when my light turns solid i'll usually wait just a extra 30sec's. i do notice if i start pulling immediately i wont get much vapor but usually by the 2nd or 3rd puff it starts coming. i think with the Air (and someone can correct me if i am wrong) it heats up also by inhaling and drawing warm air from the heater up through the stem. So i normally like to start inhaling right away or 30sec's later to start heating my glass. After a few pull's its pure tasty vapor for the session.
