Hello.

Can anyone tell me why I should buy Arizer Air instead of Magic Flight Launch Box? Pretty new here. (Sorry if it is the wrong place). And, another doubt, does Arizer sells extra batteries for the Air? Cheers.

You should be fine — I would risk it ;)

I might someday risk that or one of the other charges I have that I use for 18650s, but for now am 'keeping it between the ditches' by using the Air itself to keep my batteries charged. It's not really a big deal if you plan ahead.

I accept that one of the risks I'll assume if/when I do so is giving up the warranty as it's part of that agreement.

I guess I just don't get the 'gotta have it charged fast' bit. Most chargers are slightly slower (.50 Amps) or a bit faster (1.0 Amps) than the internal charger (.80 Amps). Even the best of the aftermarket ones (2.0 Amps) isn't really all that much faster. By the numbers, a dead battery should run a session after about seven minutes 'head start' plugged into the charger. Or you could remove that dead battery, put it into that 2.0 Amp charger you've probably just bought for the purpose and charge it enough to do a session without the charger for support in 12 minutes. The difference being the advantage of continuing to use the .8 Amps from the charger in the session.

So, if you're really in a big old rush for a session because you got caught with a dead battery you can actually be faster with the Air in the normal manner. By about five minutes. You can be half way done with that session (seven charging, 5 vaping) by the time the 12 minuite emergency charge is done.

Yes you can buy extra bats from Arizer.

As far as the MFLB goes i cant really comment as i havent used it before, but thats because im personally not really a fan of the design.

I was picking between the Air and the Ascent.. I really liked that you could customize the ascent before ordering it... And love burl option.. But really i mostly just liked the ascent because it looked cool... But after many reviews and youtube videos i decided the Air would be a better unit for me.

The MFLB is like a one or two hitter or 1 or 2 minutes. With the LB you have to insert the battery every time you take a draw. Its a major hassle IMO.

An Air is more of a session vape. You can vape for 3 or 4 min. Just put less herb in the oven. The Air is on for 10 min but you can end your session at any time. You have almost an hour of battery life plus you can buy extra batteries.

Arizer has battery chargers for the Air but they cost $42. If I need one I will watch for a sale. Some folks are buying different chargers for way less money. I haven't heard as of yet if anyone has had issues.

I'm a big worrywart so I error on the side of caution.:leaf::peace:

Aside from the otherwise excellent advice, I'd like to note the 'pretty new' part and point out it's much easier to learn to get excellent results our of Air (or it's parent, Solo). MFLB takes some skill to get on top of. When it comes to giving it to a newbie to vaping, Air (or Solo) gets the nod from me every time. They are much more forgiving of differences in technique.

I like MFLB very much, have several, but my recommendations for a first vape tend to support less demanding types. In between there's also VG and Vapman (a personal favorite) with 'learning curves' between MFLB and Air? Also worthy of consideration I think.

But if you're leaning toward Air (or Solo), I say trust that feeling.......

You can also buy the official battery from CentiZen for about half price, he's buying them in bulk (the exact part) direct from the maker.

Hi people.

I want to thank you all for the really fast answers, but I have one more to go, if it's not asking too much.... Recently Cloud Vapes launched Phantom Mini, and as far as they describe it, is a convection pen-style vape, very on the go and pratical. Is much cheaper than Arizer Air and MFLB (With the accessories). Is it a bad move? Cloud Vapes is a good company that produces good quality vapes? I know Arizer and MFLB are.

Thanks!!!! :))

It seems it's a renamed version of this guy:
http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/imag-plus.15520/

My 'take' is it's still a work in process, unlike Air or Solo. Or MFLB.

It could work out well in the end, but for now it reminds me of Pinnacle? I'd pass and stick with vapes with established track records for reliability and ease of use......especially important with 'first vapes' I think?

As far as mflb or air i would agree with @CarolKing about mflb. To me its like a pipe small quick hits that you can put down and come back to but it can take a while to get a good technique, and the air i agree with everything that @steama said to me its like a joint but pretty much anyone can pick it up and get great results as all my friends would agree with.

If i could only choose one it would be the air, as it gets me where i want to be without too much thinking and at times that is needed (for me at least)

I would also like to add that while I'm doing basic battery behaviour tests (fancy way of saying checking voltage hehe) like @OF i am only charging in unit and with wall cable supplied, for me this works as i only have 2 battery's and the wall charger (UK version) is rated at 1000mA so quick enough even if both battery's ran out i have a firefly, flowermate v5 (fixed temp) and mflb to keep the party going while i recharge.

I am not sure what changes the mini brings. But I have the imag+ (newest version of the cloudV platnum-not out from cloud yet).

Its a very nice device. Can put out huge clouds. Two things though, much better flavor with arizer. And arizer seems much more efficient. My guess is its more convection. Whatever the reason, I can load both get as many draws with arizer using WAY less material.

Air is the all around winner for me, it also can easily be fitted with water tools for some additional fun! But to be fair I don't have a mflb

Its a very nice device.

I have the old Imag+ and it is pretty cool, good for stealthy quick hits. But the flavor is not really there.

I am using the Air as my home device with water tools when able. Using my Puff2 and Imag+ for the road.

I have taken to using a 14mm PVHEGonG as a mouthpiece, It's a little hot on the higher temperatures but fine (for me) at around Green... the flavour is incredible, and I prefer the airflow.

Really love the way the Air feels in my hand too - much more comfortable to hold than the Solo.

Is imag plus worth the price? I see it costs somehing like 70$.
And thanks all for the help!

My thoughts. I love both vapes and they both are effective in different situations. I dont have the imag so i can't give my thoughts.
1.MFLB-
A) Very effective maintain vape [good for small amount of hits or to maintain your buzz]
B) temp is controlled by your inhale and pressing of the battery. This vape has a learning curve to it, so keep that in mine, but when you find the technique, its a beast of a box. I will say, lot of folks combust their first couple rounds. Its very easy to combust with the MFLB
C) Very Stealth-native mode for ultimate stealth

2.AAir-
A) Great session vape. Clouds and clouds
B) Temp Control- if you want the full vaping experience, you need to have some kind of temp control. Whether it be presets or fully controllable. No combustion with the Arizer
C) Easily adapted to a water tool. [Definitely recommended]

Im loving my Air as well. Dont see needing another vaporizer for at least another year LOL

Once i get the Vortex stem ill pretty much be done needing/buying accessories for a while i think. But im impatient on the vortex stem so i decided to post in the classifieds and maybe i can get one sooner. I figure if i offer nearly double the price i may have a chance of convincing someone to sell me theirs LMAO.

I dont own any water attachments... But i dont think ill go that route. I have no issues with vaping even on the red setting without water conditioning. I almost got pulled into the water attachments but, like the ascent, i think i was mostly just interested because it looks neat. Cant say i see much benefit from "filtering" a vapor... I understand if some people are wanting to cool off their hits.. But honestly the warm hit on the high setting kind of makes me think im getting more out of the vapor LOL.. Just a placebo thing im sure since im use to combustion.

For me, the MFLB just looks like too much effort for too little of a session. Honestly id like to try one but never felt compelled to own one.

I got mine for $59 from an idiegogo, but it was kind of a scam by a retailer, I thought I was getting the newest version. Honestly I think the Air is much better but if you want a backup or an easy/stealth vape for the road then Imag+ serves a purpose.

That is the store that tricked me on the indiegogo, I would never buy from them based on that experience.

They might think they got one over on me for the big $59 but I have spent 10 times that since with other good online companies.

OLA.

In defense of the MFLB, it is miniscule in size, with no moving parts. It fits nicely in the cup of one's hand, so it is virtually invisible.

Being, for the most part, wood, it has an earthly aura, a quiet spirituality.

I have dropped my Launch Boxes in many instances, with no consequences. I dread dropping my Air.

When in my pocket, the LB does not look phallic, unlike the larger Air. So, to me, it is less weird looking.

Having said all that, objectively, I must say I haven't touch the LB in weeks, if not months!

I guess the AA is more of a new toy syndrome, and the LB forgotten, a blast from the past.

@gnajhar The price difference for arizer air is well worth it. You will surely get 2+ years out of it. In those 2 years you will save alot of bud compared to IMAG. Buy from puffitup and if anything goes wrong during the 2 years warranty, they will take care of you; best service in the business

Only pros on imag over air is price and its more stealthy. Vapor quality, efficiency, battery swapping, higher quality, flavor; all go to the arizer air

I deeply thank all that helped. Thing is after all discussion I think MFLB and Arizer Air are incomparable. I think that MFLB is something more like a "conoisseur" vape, with slow, few and patience draws. It requires a little more "expertise" to use and. Someone said something like being more "spiritual", I agree with that. And Arizer Air is a true portable vaporizer, that does a job that anyone would simply love. It's a hard choice for me. I'll just keep thinkin about which one to buy first, 'cause I know I will end up buying both. As for the pen-style vape, I'll wait a little more.. Think great things are coming. :) Again, thank you very much for helping!

Thanks. I gave up on buying the pen, although the price was very attractive. And made a decision to buy both Arizer Air and Magic Flight Launch Box. Just have to decide which one I'll buy first. And thanks for the store tip. :)

Add a 45 degree M to F adapter to that rig and it'll solve your heat problem. ;)

I use jyarz for storage. But when out and about was wondering if there is something smaller? Anyone have suggestions for something very small, maybe 3 stems worth? Really just want it for walks

Doob Tubes, hands down. I have half a dozen with different strains here on the desk bundled together with a rubber band. One fits in the pocket just fine.

I also have a couple I cut off at the same length as the spare 18650, it fits in the other half of a dual battery box.

My Air get here a bit earlier than expected! I'm so glad I got to try it out this weekend, PV can through getting it out quickly after I ordered it.

This thing is pretty great. I've been unsatisfied with anything other than my Nano for a while but after 2 sessions with the Air I am a very happy camper. Could not be easier and as many others have said, this thing is dialed in. Its kind of amazing how smooth and consistent it is so far and I hope that doesn't change with more use.

First impressions,.
