It's coming with an extra battery and a wood stem that i believe can be used as a WonG adapter (i dont really have anything to use it in besides a j hook, though but i'll probably try it for shits and giggles) so once i order those screens and an extra glass stem or two i should be set. thanks a lot :)

Shortly after my post, I dropped one of my 2 batteries from about 3 ft. onto a linoleum floor ... ouch

Maybe a LITTLE bit of electrical tape to keep the integrity of the sleeve from tearing any further?

I've been putting off getting a third batt for a while now ... now I'm thinking (hoping) that I can still use the battery in question as a third/emergency option ... OK on that? Weigh in anyone? Thanks :-)

As long as you're careful to not use it anywhere but the Air you should be fine. No insulation is needed on the minus end for the first 1/4 inch or so. If it was mine I'd continue to use it.

I think the battery will be fine as is, even if you don't tape it. I used to tear the plastic label sleeve off all my AA'S for the MFLB (as necessary for performance)

The only thing is you would have to keep the positive (?) Terminal covored because if the battery touched some metal in your pocket and the positive terminal at the same time the battery would get hot in your pocket.

THIS IS JUST A HYPOTHESIS...but the weed tells me I'm right÷

Thank you both, OF & WakeAndVape, for the go ahead and for sharing your knowledge :-)

And FWIW, now with a third stem, a scale, and 4 pack of Arizer stem caps as recent arrivals, my VAS/upgrade bug is an eventual 3rd battery, another dozen or so domed screens, and an off-grid Lotus butane alternative :-)

The mailman just came with my AA and i gotta say, this thing is great. Quick, quiet, heat up. I dont have to shake it after every hit and hold in the battery while i draw like on my mflb which are honestly, things that i didnt realize were a little annoying until didnt have to do them anymore. It vaped super even too. I bought an iolite over the summer on impulse and it was never as evenly toasted as this, or as quiet and discreet (it looked and sounded a bit like a walkie talkie and smelled like butane when it started up). This could seriously pass for an ecig mod, i really cant wait to put it through it's paces but as of right now, im pretty stoked. I remember while pawing through reviews, some people really liked it but hated the draw resistance. Maybe it's 'cause i havent been spoiled by many other vapes or something but i had zero issues with it. The vapor tastes great too. it's nice to not have it taste like wood or plastic, or be too hot to appreciate. I'm not gonna lie, i thought the colored light heating temp setup would confuse me but once it was in my hands it felt really intuitive (thanks in part to me reading bravesst's guide before it got here). Zero learning curve, just inhale and exhale. Finally a good vape with no quirks (imo).

Really enjoyed comparing the Air with my other new portables the last few days.

Always liked my Solo but it was just a little too big for me as a travel companion. The air has changed that completely.

Got one of the short Edds TNT wongs from PIU and really like using it dry on the white heat setting. Great flavor and very respectable clouds.

Just ordered a new power bank to turn this and the Summit into my new travel duo.

That is a relief as I have a battery that has a small "chip" of the insulation come off the bottom (pretty much the same as Tom . It did not appear that it would do any damage & it is good to see the general consensus is that it is not dangerous provided you are sensible.

I think we have very similar requirements. Once i order my Vapman, Ed's Air stem & a couple of J hooks I will only be up for consumables & wants. That said the wants can get expensive :).

@sana solo & @Ronald Reagan enjoy exploring all your new toys have to offer. Using an Air with a J hook would be a most pleasing way I expect (since it will have the extra glass pathway to cool the vapor).

I decided to build myself a caddy for my Air tools today. I spent several hours looking for a old piece of turned mahogany I have not seen for years with the intention to turn it into an Air caddy but could not find it anywhere. I will find it one day but purchased some polymer clay on impulse. It cost me $15 to build this & whilst not pretty (I will sand it back & smooth it out tomorrow probably) it will do the job :)

Your post got me to thinking about how many places my Air has seen in its short time with me so far- we've been across the country and on the sea together, roamed in malls and parks and long drives and just been there. I decided it's my Lil' Buddy, which I suppose makes my Solo The Skipper. The thoughts I have when I high, lol.
(Does this mean my UDs will be Ginger and Mary Ann? Time will tell.)

I hadn't had a need for stealth until last night, so I tried OF's suggestion I saw recently. I took 2 flavor hits on blue and then shut off. I capped the stem. I wasn't able to resume for about 9 hours but I was happy with an excellent session that seemed to have almost no odor. Good idea.

The odor of dank weed itself is what puts out most odor. And I haven't found a container that can really take care of it. So I'll try to pre vape what I need to take instead.

There's definitely enough aroma going on simply from the Air itself, once the material has been pre-heated and is ready to go, to compromise the stealth factor in an even somewhat confined environment.

One nice rip or two sips on a fresh stem does indeed seem to do the trick ... good call OF :-)

Wow. Wouldn't have thought that... Dry on yellow /w short plastic stem... Respect to your respiratory system!:D
Mine would go sore.
I also hit the lily dry, which seems to be a rarity.
I also used to use the vapor genie coil dry until I figured out it was MADE for a water tool.

I had asthma in my younger years...apparently this isn't the case anymore. I hit everything in high. I also like head rushes and sometimes dab all day...lol

I'm able to use temp 5 (391 degrees) with Solo but I use the lower temps on the Air i start out at the lowest temp then I bump up to the next temp to finish off my load.

I miss the extra usable temperature that the Air doesn't have. That's what I would wish for if they revised the unit and did an upgrade. In a perfect world I would like an actual temperature read out with a lighted number, like the Ascent.

Edit
Fixed the above temp I had it 100 degrees too hot. Oops

I did something similar but was most unintentional last night. Most weekend evenings I tend to finish myself off with a stem or two in bed. Lately I have taken to loading 2 stems to keep next to my bed although it certainly encourages me to weekend wake & vape as I usually have a stem preloaded within 2 feed of my head upon waking :).

Last night I passed out without having taken a single toke from my Air (setting was on white) & woke up at 3.00am so decided to vape it then. Lots of clouds but bugger all smell as all the tasty shit abandoned ship hours ago. I will remember that for future discretion.

@WakeAndVape nice vid. The cough at .55 adds authenticity & the finish is a strong showing of orange power :). You should call the vid "how to kill a stem in under 3 minutes".

I know I am probably jinxing myself but the black tip stems are stronger than I thought. My Air has had a couple of falls off my coffee table onto the floor (tiles & carpet) & one was straight on the stem just now (onto tiles). I better order some replacement stems after typing that "come at me bro" to karma :)

You might want to remember that for another reason. There's a lot of folks around here that'll swear it didn't happen. It's impossible, don't you know......if you let it just sit there hot all the useful stuff gets lost. This mostly comes from folks looking for a reason their vape is better than yours of course, but they persist.

The first place I recall it being discussed was on the PD thread. Guys would put a loaded stem in and get distracted and yet still get a solid hit or two the next day. The PD is on full time, that means it 'cooked' for 8 hours..... Not ideal of course, but still potent. It was also discussed on the HA thread a while back when I used to read that one, but was dismissed somewhat when guys objected it was a convection vape?

I've tried all 3 experiments over the years and my experience squares with yours. Not something you want to do, but not a disaster either.

I think what happens is pretty clear. Absent airflow to sweep it out, the vapor simply condenses somewhere else handy, at least the heavier parts (like THC). The THC isn't being destroyed chemically, and it can't escape, it's gotta still be there.....

Thanks for the observation, IMO an important one.

I recently got a batch of herb that tasted horrible out of the AA and everything except a joint. Probably smoked about an eighth in the AA.
Since then I keep catching an offputting whiff out of the AA every now and then. Nothing has tasted really good since then. I've tried new stems and cleaned the unit with alcohol on a qtip. I've put about an oz and a half of several different strains through the unit.
Any tips on deodorizing/deep cleaning the unit? Is it psychosomatic? I pretty much never have anything fall into the heating chamber, so I really don't know what happened.
Semi-relatedly, I'm heading to Denver next week so I'll have a chance to run anything I want through it, worst case scenario I'll know for sure then. If you are local to the Denver area and would be interested in showing me around or hanging out on 1/5 or 1/6 let me know in a PM. I'm hoping to move there in about a year or so and it would be good to know a few people before then.

If you have warm iso soaked the stems I would suggest holding it upside down and cleaning the inside of the bowl with a magic eraser to take off any resin of the bullshit herb from the bowl, then qtip wipe it with some alcohol and then some water...that's always been enough for me.
