The problem is the draw resistance when you put the stem without a milimetre between the stem and the oven, without that little space the draw resistance is too high. And with that space you probably risk getting the fine herbs under the oven.
I already cleaned the oven with a qtip with the right amount of alcohol with the AA upside down and also used the blower that I have to clean my laptop.
Still feel that the black protection gets quite hot on the lowest temp and its winter here :/
DRAW RESISTANCE AND THE AA
When I first considered this vape, that's the main negative I heard about it. I went through the learning curve, trying different stems, grinds, full nugs, screens, BUT, BUT BUT...
the winning combination that i find to cuts down almost ALL draw resistance (except what's needed to keep the heat in the herb for a bit).
Dome Screen - convex side toward oven
Herb thickness is never more than an 1/8 of an inch
Grind Fine
Dry Out
Pack with a light tamp
Start on white, bump as needed
My draw resistance is nil with this method, and I get just as many hits/sips with the dome screen vs a full bowl (somehow more, as much as two full 10 minute sessions). The difference,
much more evenly vaped ABV. Same nice dark color through and through - no stirring, start at white or green, or just start at green, and finish off at orange. Get that final 5 to 10% moisture out - it's gumming you up. You won't need the mm space at the bottom, just rotate stem once in a while as you're hitting/sipping.
The FDNY has been fucking combustion for 150 years. Legend has it, the gangs of NYC, street toughs as they were known, were recruited to fight fires, and the FDNY was founded, eventually spreading to the five boroughs. These brave men were mostly Irish immigrants who literally feared
nothing. The term "Bravest" was coined, describing these courageous men, who thought nothing of running into burning buildings, with barely any protective gear, slaying the dragon from the inside (that's what structural firefighting is, an "aggressive interior attack to save life and property"). Most departments don't have the luxury of operating this way because of OSHA regs, dept guidelines, but mostly under-manning. The FDNY is manned with 12,000 men, the largest, most active, and most aggressive professional fire department on earth.
Fuck Combustion For Life.
The FDNY doesn't set "training fires", we have enough real jobs (our term for a working fire), we do however train and drill constantly. The fire academy does have some kind of state of the art "smoke house", but you really learn the job in the field, no training can replace that. Other than that, we are a bunch of pretentious asses, who think no other department is our equal, but hey, that's what gets the job done, with a minimal number of fire fatalities in a city of 8 million people (probably 12 counting everybody).
@OF, sheet size, king, in case you were thinking of a Christmas gift
