I'm curious to see someone run this with some glass. With that huge herb chamber…

I knew this would come up soon. I don't have any glass, but I have been thinking about ways to do this.

I don't think there is any practical GonG solution, but something like the new Magic-Flight Water Pipe Whip would work easily. You have to shrink wrap the end of the tube inserted into the FV to make a good connection, but that's a trivial issue.

The issues I see with GonG (disclosure: I know little about glass) are the small (I think ~7mm) outlet, the placement of the outlet on the side of the FV, and the fact that you have to keep the FV more or less vertical while in use.

Also, I should take the time to mention here about something that you can't see, inside the FlashVAPE: all the wiring inside this vape are made using single strand, solid copper, and all main electrical connections are friction fitted, with no soldering involved. This should speak loudly as to the kind of quality and reliability that you can expect from the FV.

This vape will last you years with proper care and use.

I do have a question about the top screen (not the "lower-upper tabbed screen" but the very top). I have not figured out how to remove it easily yet, and the herb seems to stick to it fast
The weed that sticks seems engrained into the ultra fine top screen, and a brush does not remove it.

The whole piece can be immersed, but I am afraid the gasket around that screen would suffer.
The units flavor is very good.
Weight is good , and the dumbell aspect makes a hard fast shake a piece of cake (do not know if this was intentional, or a coincidence)
Batteries are slow to charge, but you get two (I wish the charger was a 2 battery charger)
The battery life is not spectacular, but as long as it clears one great session, I am pleased.
I get one GREAT session (an easy dozen hits), then a few hits of a second session, and the battery is depleted. I will get some more batteries
Shake after every hit... the ABV is uniform and good color.
It is ideal to leave filled , for a portable solution in a place with no vape.......
...to get one great thick hit, and walk away... and if used that way the battery can last a good long while... one big hit an hour, and you can last a day on one battery.
The unit gives a thick rich hit in half the time of the launch box.
I took pictures and am making a video.
The unit is a definite "go".
While no unit is for everybody... this one is sure fun!

I asked and the top screen is not meant to be user removable. If you got it out you would have a lot of trouble putting it back. I was told there is no issue with immersing the whole top in ISO. In fact I did that after I combusted in it, since I concluded the ash in that screen was causing the burnt taste. You can also unscrew and remove the top to get access to the other side of the screen. I've found brushing from both sides is usually enough to remove all the particulate matter. If you don't want to soak it, try brushing both sides with a brush dipped in ISO.

As to the question regarding glass earlier on in the thread, I don't have a suitably sized piece of silicone tubing around, so I tried to mate the glass stem with my SSV tube adapter...very awkward and I managed to chip the tip of my adapter I think the best setup would be a small piece of silicone connected to a small bubbler...just have to be careful, as this thing heats up fast and you may end up combusting if you are trying to milk it.

the diameter of the hole on the swivel cap for inserting the glass draw tube is exactly 7mm. the glass tube we use is 6.5mm, the the extra 0.5mm allowance for the seal. since silicon is very flexible, i think any tube around 7mm in diameter will work perfectly for the purpose of a whip to use with the FV. we are currently working on making a flexible hose adaptor system for the FV as well, so please stay tuned!

BTW, I should mention that each FV kit comes with 2 black, long tubular pieces replacement seals. when the seals wear out on your glass stem with repeated removal and use, it can be easily replaced by cutting a small, 8mm piece of seal from the strip, place of the the tip of the glass draw tube so that the seal overlaps the edge by tiny bit, about 0.5mm or so, just a sliver, then heat the tip with a lighter while turning, keeping the flame around 1" away. You will see the heat-shrink seal quickly contract to form a tight seal around the tip of the stem.

Since many of us have long since thrown away or lost our lighters I'd like to add that a hair dryer works just as well.

Video is coming along, but I had a slight delay...
(our 9 month old 75 pound Retriever puppy found one of my batteries!).. so there is a delay as I charge and recharge my only battery (more are on the way!)
I wanted to mention the nice touch of adding the black sleeves for the stem tips as well~

I just finished testing the FV out with Bubble Hash.
What a magnificent time that was!
This is without a doubt a great vape for dry concentrates.
It appears I have a new favorite way to vape my dry/crumbly hashes~

How hard was it to get the screen clean? When I tried kief I wound up having to remove the screen to clean it. It's not too hard to get the screen out, but the third time I did it I was horrified to find that the screen curled up on me. I tried getting it to seat properly again but I couldn't get it quite right. This turned out to be a problem because a) poor contact with the screen below reduces vapour production quite a bit, and b) when you shake it the bottom screen comes loose.

I reasoned that I must have introduced the curl when I was scrubbing the screen, sort of the way you can make paper curl by pulling it across an edge. So I tried rubbing against the curl, and sure enough I got it back to pretty much flat. This screen is not as delicate as I first thought, and I found I could bend it and return it to its original shape without much trouble. I wouldn't do that a lot, mind you, I suspect that bending it will eventually do permanent damage. The good news is that it was easy to fix my curly screen. It's back in place and functioning perfectly. Lesson learned, however. I will be getting some spare screens.

The glass pieces on this are pretty strong. I've been a total klutz lately, and I have been dropping the straw and top window almost every time I handle them. Not too sure what's causing my butter fingers...

I also found that the screens can be easily reshaped to flat... by "overcompensating" in the curl you make in the opposite direction of your perceived flaw.
The screen I cleaned with Iso 991% of course0 was the very top screen.. the one that can not be removed. That is the screen I immersed in Iso... still within it's metal housing.
It only took about15 seconds before the debris fell away.
I then rinsed the top with water, and blotted it dry, and added some vacuum cleaner suction (indirect) to dry all well.... I added these touches to reduce chemical action on that inner black O-Ring around the screen, rather than let the Iso evaporate on it on it's own.

The important thing to remember is, that like the MFLB... you can do a single hit like you see me doing here.... but you can also hold your breath...shake... hit it again... etc.. to release MONSTER clouds

When I saw the Flashvape show up on FC, I was excited to see a Canadian made Vape hit the market. I had high hopes and expectations, and I have to say, I was not let down.

For $129.99 you get an exceptional value.

The kit comes with the Flashvape, two batteries, a single battery charger, a carrying pouch, two glass straws, replacement seating material, the instructions and some awesome stickers that remind me of the ones my dad would bring home in the eighties…he was a TV repair guy and the design has that feel. Love it. There is also a generous 2 year warranty.

The first thing you will notice about the unit, is that it is solid. Built like a tank! It has an aluminum alloy body, ceramic chamber, stainless steel button on the side, as well as a rubber coated power switch on the bottom. There is also a glass viewing window at the top. The unit is heavy (about 12oz with battery), which could be considered a negative to those with grip strength issues. Personally, I love it. I have roughed it up a bit and it is still as good as new. I also like that it could probably double as a black jack should I ever require one.

Batteries take about 3 hours to charge…Its kind of a pain having a charger that only charges one battery at a time, but the batteries do last, so if you are sure to always have one on the charger, you should be ok. Operation is simple: Insert a battery into the bottom of the unit, hold down the button for five seconds, release and draw. You will see the vapour pull into the top chamber as you do so.

It is a fine line between heating it long enough for maximum vapour and combusting. It is a beast! My favourite technique is to take micro hits and I find the Flashvape keeps up nicely. I can generally get light-medium vapour. Any thicker and I usually hit combustion pretty quickly. AVB is a light, even brown with some green flecks.

The unit itself stays fairly cool, but under heavy use will get warm. I didn't find it too uncomfortable, but I did have to put it down to cool a bit. I was pushing it to its limits of course.

The flavour on this thing is very good. I only taste the materials that I place into the ceramic chamber. There is an initial smell when you first get it, but that's normal of most new products and a quick burn in time will get rid of it with no issue. The draw is superb, with very little, if any restriction. This thing has made me cough on more than a few occasions, and it medicates on as little or as much as you like, with a large 1 inch diameter chamber. I enjoy filling it halfway as they instruct, and hitting it throughout the day. I find I get fatter hits this way.

Battery life is pretty consistent throughout use. I really did not notice the battery dying until the indicator light on the front started to dim. It chugged along nicely for a heavy, 45 minute session.

What I love about this unit the most, is how simple and rugged it is. I could see this sitting in someones workshop, or tossed in the glove box of a truck. A good, strong tool built to last. There is a small learning curve, but it's so much fun playing with this unit, I don't think anyone would have a problem trying out different techniques. Although a bit heavy to have in your coat pocket, I would still favour taking this along for an excursion over my Solo…it's great being able to just pull this out, and get a hit in 5-10 seconds. The fact that it looks like a flashlight is pretty stealth as well.


Clean up is a snap, and it can be iso soaked. The heat screen can be changed easily, and there are small tabs that you pull...as seen in the photo found here:

In conclusion, I am proud to call this a Canadian made product. You will get some serious bang for your buck here. So if you are looking for a simple, affordable and quick hitter…FlashVape is a worthy contender.
