@Quint I put the retaining clip back on top of my extra screen it kept coming out when I ditched the spent bowl.
@alltoreup really liking the bamboo looks the part.
@VapCap there's gonna be some happy people out there real soon.

I had a spare couple of hours to kill today and I've had another bloody VC itch to scratch.
Still needs a bit of more work. I'm not happy with the joint between the stem and the main body, or the fact that the MP decided to split. Spins nicely on my wind shield.
I've looked at the blank a few times and never thought it would amount to anything. I think it's wenge. Turned out much better than I thought it might.

So kinda late to the party, discovered VC a few weeks ago. I've been milling over getting one, really wanted a Ti woody but for my first the OG price is attractive and a bit more fitting for available funds at the moment. Finally decided today just to order an OG and I'll pick up a Ti a little later. Went to the site and noticed a new product in stock, some burly or something:cool:... Well my bank account can still at least cover netflix tomorrow  Anyone have any idea what kinda wait I'm in for, after seeing that I'm feeling really impatient lol.

Received my OG Vapcap today.

Read through the instructions. Did a few dry runs as instructed to get used to the clicks.

Loaded a nug in there (not ground). It filled the cap about 90%.

Used a cheap $5 single flame butane torch and touched about halfway into the flame to the last third of the cap while twisting.

Didn't get any visible vapor. Am I supposed to?

Blew out the nug after a few cycles. The part closest to the end was almost burnt. The other part was still green.

What am I doing wrong?

You really need to practice with the VapCap @waxdab23 as it took me at least 15 bowls to get the hang of it & I am using a single flame torch while waiting for my lighter shipment. I first thought there may have been something wrong but trust me when you "get it" you will find it hard to put down :).

After spending the day with some 1 on 1 time with the VapCap I did not combust once (got damm close a couple of times) & had only one UD stem & 15-20 VapCap stems. One of the most appealing things to me with the VapCap is that is feels like a cigarette in my hand. So much so that I cupped it like I would a joint & managed to burn the side of my pinky .

I am finding that a good load in the VapCap tends to go something like

First heat cycle: Two draws mostly flavour but sometimes rich vapor
Second heat cycle: Two draws of premium vapour
Third heat cycle: Two draws of heavy vapour
Fourth heat cycle: If I run a 4th cycle it is usually a single draw of vapour but it is a fine line so the load is usually pretty spent after 3 cycles.

Tried it through water but I was not a huge fan but will try again later. What is surprising is how cool the vapour is for such a small vapour path. @phattpiggie that is a sweet looking stem you made & just makes me lust after my incoming Ti burly.

@waxdab23 welcome to the party  I had the same thing happen to me when I got my VC. My current method with a single flame is to heat around the NA on DYNAVAP. Every so often when spinning/heating I'll move the flame to closer to the tip to make sure the heat is spread out enough on the cap for it to click, but do most of the heating on the NA.

So far I'm not that impressed with using a single or triple torch. I think a double torch will be the sweet spot for the VC. I ordered some doubles to test out along with a soft flame pipe lighter. I'm curious whether the soft flame or double torch will take the crown.

Stay tuned...

As my triple torch lighters are still in transit I had to go & purchase one from a tobacconist. Whilst $16 is expensive for a $5-7 torch this one does feel to be better quality than most I have used & the colour is suitably tacky so that's a bonus.

Since I wasn't sure if starting a gear thread was appropriate, and how active this thread was, I just decided to leave my review of my DynaStashER here. Please let me know if that's not appropriate.

TL;DR: Since I got the woody Ti and the DynaStashER, I don’t use anything else for concentrate other than a rig, which I usually only break out once or twice a week. It’s also probably the best tasting device I have, and the only thing I trust to transport concentrate, period. You can still buy a DynaStashER through indiegogo

Full disclosure, I agreed to review the unit in exchange for receiving it early. I paid full backer price.

I’ll start this review by providing a little support story. It’s also the story of how I came to own the DynaStashER about 6 weeks ago, and the beginning of how I came to embrace my Vapcap as an everyday device.

I bought an OG vapcap simply out of curiosity, and the fact that $30 is the crazy lowest number I’ve ever heard of to get vapor instead of combustion. I assumed I couldn’t lose and, for the money, the function the OG vapcap is amazing. I only got to use it for about 5 days before I managed to break/lose several pieces while cleaning. I was discouraged, felt dumb for not picking up spare parts in my order, and shelved the unit for something like 2 weeks…

But, once more excitement and other success stories around the Vapcap started to appear, I was compelled to try it again. I had to bust it out and figure out what I could do to salvage the functional pieces I had left. I tried to replace the screen clip with a paperclip – which caused the glass body to overheat along where the paperclip touched it. The body shattered; oops. I emailed George about this and he was super interested. I thought he was going to be short, and treat me like an idiot who didn’t care about his product and who mishandled it. He actually wanted to know more, to understand what I needed to get back up and running as well as how I damaged it, and, since I had been drooling over them, to get me hooked up with a Woody Ti instead. There was a lot of back and forth, at one point I mentioned I was a backer for the DynaStashER and that I wanted to try to get my woody matched up with the one I would receive eventually. George said he happened to have a DynaStashER but, we wouldn’t be able to coordinate the colors. I was super excited and pulled the trigger as modestly as possible: I felt like I was getting a huge opportunity, and an accessory that I thought would turn the Vapcap into a daily driver. I was totally right. George nailed my customer service experience and turned me into a true believer in the simplicity and elegance of his designs.

I have to start with the material quality. Obviously the wood used contributes to the overall luxury feel of the DynaStashER. I ended up with a Bocote wood which I think has a really amazing texture and some very pretty contrast. The finish on all the corners and beveled contours are all A+, there’s nothing rough, catching, or unpolished about the entire unit, inside or out. The Dynavap.com logo engraving is reasonably subtle although I might have preferred it on the bottom of the unit instead of across the face, the finish and quality is great: the engraving is deep without being a pocket for lint and debris. The friction on the lid with the body of the DynaStashER is basically perfect, it was fit so that there is slightly more resistance when the lid goes wider than about 45º past open. The lid fits absolutely flush, I don’t think I’ve seen any foreign debris in the lid crack much rather getting under it. I’m sure the Bocote wood has something to do with it too, but, the hardware that attaches the lid is also very well matched. All of the storage holes are finished through and through, and I’ve had no trepidations about dumping top shelf flower into the dry storage section. There’s a few other materials in construction but the best tangent is going to be the extract dabber.

The handle is (of course) matched to the body of the DynaStashER and also made of Bocote. One side effect of the titanium body is that it’s not magnetic, which I was kind of disappointed by; it rolls easily if I place it flat on the table and I have found many times when it would be nice it I could stick it to the magnet.. What I really, really love is using this tool for shatter. It has an amazing shape that makes it feel like a glass breaker, and cuts through brittle shatter with ease. What I don’t like is trying to deal with any other kinds of concentrate. Wax/sugar/budder and pull and snap both really don’t like this tool very much. I’ve been able to get it to work, simply because I like having as few tools out at a time as possible, but I’d prefer if there was maybe a reversible head to the tool, or a few to swap between based on what I am carrying. That complaint isn’t very significant and I imagine offering new tool shapes is something George can easily do, so I’d be excited to see this offered in the future.

Since there’s not a great time to mention it, I’ll talk about the magnet. It’s slightly weaker than I would like it to be, when my Vapcap freshly chirps cold, it won’t hold on tight enough to pull the cap off by itself (I can get it 90% off of the tip, but not all the way). After a few more seconds though all the metal contracts again and it slips off fully, so, no big deal, just an exercise in patience. Let me just say that, if you use a Vapcap and don’t have a magnet of some kind, you really should. You only have to use a Vapcap like, 2 or maybe 3 times to really want a magnet and the DynaStashER is one of the most elegant, complete ways to solve that problem. But, even if you don’t pull the trigger on the stash, DO get a magnet of some kind.

Having said all those nice things, there’s not a ton left to say. The only other major piece is the extract reservoir. This was not my favorite when I first used it, but, it very quickly grew on me. My reservoir is extremely gummy, like a NoGoo but even more floppy, all around. In fact, the lid bottom and top feels thinner than the walls. Even when moving it into and out of the storage hole, sometimes I would pinch concentrate between my fingers trying to grip the container. It took a little bit of touch and feel to keep that from happening again, and to learn where to place pressure, but now I love having a super gummy container. Especially with pull and snap, or really hard shatter that likes to shoot everywhere. I can bend the mouth of the container around my tool, or use it to grip on to little shards of slab while I pull away with my tool. For the first week I swore I was going to replace it with something more rigid but I never did. If it wasn’t for the wooden body of the DynaStashER I would never trust this container, but, it has been even more crush and leak-proof than any other silicon I have simply because it’s surrounded by form fitted Bocote. This is the only thing I trust to travel with concentrate now, simply because I know it won’t deform and start letting things in or out in any way. I can’t stress how big of a game changer this has been, especially since the Vapcap is the best mobile concentrate tool I’ve ever used (I have an alpha centuri, a kiln, and some KISS carts). If you disc golf, buy the DynaStashER, don’t even hesitate.

Otherwise, this works exactly like a dugout. I plan on picking up shorty bodies for my Ti so that I can store it with the mouthpiece on, but that’s more of a preference for your Vapcap and has nothing to do with the DynaStashER. Keeping flower on hand as a wadding to catch melting concentrate is basically the main function for having both the dry storage dugout and the concentrate silicon. It works extremely well for that specific function and basically replaces any non-session vaping I have been doing over the last 6 weeks. I usually rock something like 0.2 or 0.3 chips in the container and that will last me all day, sometimes two depending on if I break out my session vape in the afternoon.

I hope this review has been helpful. Like I said, I’ve been driving the Ti Woody with a DynaStashER for about 6 weeks so I have put a lot of miles on the whole unit, including my Ti. I’m happy to answer any questions. I also plan on taking some photos soon so keep an eye out for those.

Don't you hate it when a thread falls off you alert list and you forget about it? Missed this one for almost a week. Lots of great stuff here, as always, and finally all caught up.

Know I'm a little behind, but god DAMN those stems @Ed's TnT posted look great!!!!! Beautiful stuff Ed. Those amboyna burl stems actually made me let out an involuntary audible "ooooohhhhh ahhhhh".

Everyone, I am proud to announce that the video interview I did with George a while back is up!

!!!

I'm so thankful that Ben took the time to cut and edit this interview in a way that minimized my flubs and other nervous junk! Huge thanks to George for letting me come out and showing some cool stuff along the way, as well as mentioning a few ongoing projects in the video!

To answer a few questions in advance properly:

-The sunglasses were to have some partial facial cover.

-I promise, if I go out to visit DynaVap again, I'll take questions from here next time (whoops on the last time, wasn't very active here! Sorry guys!).

-That "yeahup" I say after George answered "How's it going?" was probably the most awkward thing I could have done on camera (but it kinda makes me chuckle seeing it happen over and over again).

Cheers guys!

Good interview, thanks for sharing with us as well as the reddits. @VapCap thanks for taking the time to do this video. Still waiting for that larger capacity bowl; Ti comes closer to meeting my needs than the OG did, but could still use a bit more material in my single serving sessions! Seems like a good candidate for the upcoming GonGs, if you ask me.

Excellent interview. Great insights. Had a wonderful time watching it.

@VapCap
George, you are a rockstar!!!!:rockon::rockon::clap::nod:

@irie4i Wow, great pics. That bocote stash looks beautiful. I too have one on order! Can't wait for it - also a Ti burly + xl condenser.
You didn't go for the crown at mouthpiece end... I'm thinking about having it done. Thought it might be good for durability? But changes the looks too. Can't decide yet..

Have a great evening everyone!

I can't wait for the DynaStation now!

Or D-Station for short, or hell how about the DynaDock!

I imagine it could be very similar to the vapman dock. Though Ed could make it a lot more unique.

I am very intrigued!!

I was nothing but smiles hearing that second answer in that interview, so happy for all the success!!! :)

I emailed George tonight with some questions about my order. Friday night.

George responded right away.

Thank you so much George!

Is that STELLAR Customer Service or what?

I have read the entire FC forum and vicariously watched the Vapcap evolve into a stunning beauty. What a great success story.

I just love the modular approach and compact familiar (joint like) design. Simplicity, efficiency with the potential for limitless options, that's got to check off most people's boxes.

Simply limitless. What fun!

Keep up the great work George! You are making a lot of people happy and one day soon, I will join them. In the meantime, while I wait for my happy green package to arrive on my door step, I am enjoying just reading about everyone's Dynavap adventures.

What will the next surprise sleeve?? Short body Damascus perhaps??? A Ti Damy!

Great interview by the way!

Really dumb question here, but besides looking to see if there is ash, how can you tell you combusted? I'm too vaked right now but the last heat cycle I did was harsh (#5) and I expected to it be but seemed too gross.

From the smell is usally how I tell haha. Like when you combust with a vape that smell and taste usually takes a nice iso wash to shake. It sounds more like you charred your material. Meaning you got close to combustion and maybe released some of the things your trying to avoid with vaping but you still didn't achieve full combustion, meaning you don't have to clean to get rid of smell. That's how I am at least, I only clean if I combust, other than my regular cleaning schedule.

The more I play around with my OG the more I fall in love with it. Being a cigarette smoker for 25 years that gave up six months ago using this really feels like puffing on a ciggy/spliff. So much so that I have had not used any of my other vapes today but I did have 9 or 10 caps whilst watching the footy this afternoon.

Less than $50 will get you a OG, trip torch, butane & 2 x condenser tubes. There is no better value vaporizer on the market I am aware of for the money asked. It makes me glad I have a nice burly on the way & even created a "sanity pack" for my bro so he can sneak away for a quick vape when needed. Just a pencil case with a little jar of 1.5g ground weed & the less than $50 combo will last him for months.

What I find perplexing is how I have no desire to use any of my other vapes or the OG through water yet I could not be happier about it. I also had a bad case of VAS earlier this week & getting a burly has now fixed that right up.

@Stevenski I've had mine since January and it hasn't even crossed my mind to charge up any batteries, I used to be a 'single skinner' man and never smoked ciggys and I have to agree it's like having a joint/single, only better, much better.

@Tommy10 one of the guys I got a Glassy for is over the moon and it's generated a lot of interest in the crowd of people he hangs about with. They've all looked up Dynavap and watched a few videos. It's an infectious little device.

My new stem/pipe is working a treat. It's another one I've built that's made me think 'WTF where did that come from??' I think the combination of spinning slower and it getting the concentrated heat inside the shield is making it all happen so much quicker. I also seem to be using less butane but will keep an eye on this as I've been too battered to proper 'scientific study' the situation.
