Inspired by @VapCap evolution, I took a small round hand file to one of my tips. I still need to clean it up an buff it, but it's already working pretty well :)

from first two test runs:

I got an extra cycle or two, and AVB wasn't as charred as I expected

I felt I could give an extra half second or so past the click, and I did a little - all good (with my triple jet, YMMV)

A/B restriction test on just the tips shows definite but slight airflow improvement. I also made a new @Squiby filter. I used less fiber than my previous ones which also contributed to better airflow. I used to put the first screen in, then a fiber disc, then the next screen, but this time I actually made the whole sandwich outside, then pushed the whole thing in place. Was easier to keep it clean and worked nicely.

It seems there's less conduction since there is less tip contact with the cap, and it does feel a bit more forgiving cap-temperature wise.

Not as harsh, specially second hit. The almost burnt popcorny flavor of the later cycles was less prominent, so flavor is slightly improved.

All in all, I'd say it's more refined. I feel the temp is slightly lower due to decreased tip contact and higher airflow. I like that it's more forgiving and tastes slightly better. It definitely works well and does it job! :D so I can only assume the convection ratio is higher.

So if George did a job anywhere like mine ;) Bravo! This is indeed evolutionary. Keep it up

P.S This was just two test runs, so its early impressions. And even if half the results are placebo, I'm satisfied :)

I've considered smoothing down my stash myself, but I don't know a second thing about making wood smooth. I assume I could get the pretty little thing a little more shiny, I'll just have to look up how.

You can smooth (remove wood fiber) your wood with sandpaper or emery cloth. It comes in sheets with different levels of abrasiveness. The coarser the sandpaper the more wood fiber it will remove in a rougher way and the smaller the number will be that's printed on the back (ie. 60, 80, 100 grit). The finer grades (120, 150, 220, 400 grit). My Vapcaps are very smooth so I can't imagine taking anything coarser than a 220 to them. Fold the sandpaper around your fingers or a block of wood and apply pressure, moving with the grain. You can move progressively to a finer grit until it as smooth as you like. Then buff it with some wood conditioner, like @Phattpiggies Hemp Oil polish.

this time I actually made the whole sandwich outside, then pushed the whole thing in place. Was easier to keep it clean and worked nicely.

I'm going to try that right now! Thanks!

Now that I have enjoyed several Vaponics for some years, I am thinking about upgrading to an Omnivap after my exam period is over. That would be the perfect treat after a time of abstinence and stress.

However, I would love my vape to be as stealthy as possible. After carrying around Arizer vapes in my backwards country for about two years, I would really appreciate a design as stealthy as possible while still looking classy when in use. While the vaponic ticks the stealth-box, its classiness leaves something to be desired, to put it bluntly.

That is why I have been thinking that it would be a very smart move of George to make a tip for transport which resembles either a fountain pen or pencil. This would take this product's uniqueness to the next level and actually does not seem too difficult to accomplish, right? Especially if one takes a look at the much more complicated things he provided his customer base with.

That's a neat idea @dopse! I wonder how different cap shapes would affect the heat distribution...:science:

If the stealth factor is holding you back from making a purchase; IMO I think an observer would have a hard time telling a VapCap from a capped pen as it is, especially if you got an all Ti or dark wood! I feel the design has lots of stealth from the small form factor; I can easily hide the whole thing in my hand while walking so I have felt pretty secure with it on the go. And when paired with a DynaStash I feel it's just as stealthy if not more than the super stealthy oil pens I own. The lighter is the biggest loss of stealth for me.. but the Cap heats up so quickly I feel it's an even trade off for the heat up times you expect from most portables.

Another stealth positive is the VapCap's don't really have an oven smell other session vapes can have. I have an Air as well and it can really stink the area up while you wait for the chamber to warm up and cook your tube! Not very good for quick sneaky hits.. Not to mention glass is very hard to make look like something mundane when caught or to easily stash in your pocket. (so many broken stems...:rip:)

If I was going to make a suggestion for stealth it would be a Logo-less option so that the stash does not say VAP anywhere on it.

I thought the vapcap would be a no-no in the car due the the torch and loss of stealth factor (I mostly drive in the evening)... but I'm pleasantly surprised to report it performs real well and torches don't light up the whole car like cell phones... the blue light is super low key.

i did however burn a hole in my GF's cheap comforter when the cap slippd off right as it clicked and i was about to hit it. A decent fabric might not have caught but it was that plastic acrylic type stuff and i had to scrape it off the cap. i would've been freaked out if that happened in the car... but i squeezed the tip some and it seems to be more secure now.

Had some time this morning, as you can see :)

Cleaned up my filing, buffed with a rotary tool and off to test. My initial thoughts still stand :) The cap was every sooo slightly loose, that it popped up about a mm when heating, so I thought hmm some nanometers of oxidation may help! Then this. I like :)

Awesome, looks good! Vapcap and the drawing! Isn't it from those kids books where mice and worms live in apples?

I'm surprised the TI apparently sanded quite easy. Maybe very hard metal but a bit brittle?
Or did you use a dimond dremel or something similarly powerfull?

And gosh the wood grains on that one pic, I haven't seen a blackwood vapcap in this lighting.
Nice

Titanium isn't actually that hard to work with if you're using files and sand paper. I make hand carved titanium charms from time to time.

Awesome,..

Tnx. I mostly used the round file from this set of files. I didn't find it very different than working with other metals, just a bit harder. I started using a small pink coned grinding stone on a rotary tool to take a bit of material off, though the file could have done it all. A bit of fine sandpaper and some buffing.

Took those shots on a book called PLANES.

The top pic is my damascus it's got lovely grains :)

Then, suddenly, a 25cm Ti pipe finally came in a the mail! So I had to test if it fits, then I may as well do the minimum needed to test it out too, but I may as well do a good job at that!

fEBQ45J.jpg

I was planing on cutting it up and I still may but then the thought of this long thing just felt right.

The ends came very raw cut. Used a hefty drill bit to clean it up, a large file to flatten-ish the ends then round the edges off. Used a small cylindrical fine grinding rock rotary bit to clean up the inside and finish the filed end. A bit of 250 sandpaper (need to get finer), some cleaning up and it felt good enough to test out and I liiike. I don't want to cut it up so I'll just have to get more :)

I didn't use a condenser, and made a nice large carb up high near the tip to actually clear the volume. I can feel the temp gradient along the pipe and vape is definitely cooler. It feels great to hold but won't be so convenient to take out and about. Will be a bit smellier unless I make some nice end caps to keep on it.

I'll still be playing with this Ti. Dunno what next. probably some oxidation :)

Nice idea! Perhaps a cap with openings on each side looking as a pencil extension? For Stealthness you can stick a short pencil into the outer opening while the other opening fits the VC.

Think too there could be a lack of performance but this stealth cap hasnt to work. A simple pencil extention cap dummy would work for stealthness. The real cap you can put anywhere. If it should work as VC cap the better.

I have a set of those needle files and some small grinding stones. Thanks for the tutorial! I going to play with a tip myself!!!

I used a titanium body to hold the tip in while working. I started with wood body but was afraid I'd damage it with too much lateral force. My fingers hurt after a while from holding so tight. I didn't have my clamps around at the time, which would have helped. Could even wrap the body side of the tip in some paper and grip it with vice-grips. Let us know how it goes :)

One of Dynavaps little magnets is a cheap alternative to buying a whole dynastash, good for attaching to anything for its cap removing capabilities :)
Got my goods yesterday. I should have totally listened and added that magnet:shrug: as advised by @emmdeemo and @Diggy Smalls. Still, it's a minor inconvenience with this powerful new sidekick that just came in. Shocking how hard it hits even though I read so much about it in the 400pages+ tread. George, Matt and the team are amazing as all have mentioned and now I also can personally testify to the thoughtfulness and generosity of their company. My order was upgraded to 2 day priority and it came with an upgrade of the mp for the woody. Thanks guys, as long as I keep vaping you have a customer for life. Its been said over and over again but I'll add my voice to it, I'm in love!! It's so simple yet absolutely genius. It's function and aesthetics at it's best minus any other bs. Big thanks to @Baron23, you're a real hero pal;), this all started for me bc of the review you posted on vapelife forum. You're the man that started me on this road and thank god you did. It suits my needs in such a perfect way, no waiting and wasting time. After all the stress of the battery issue with my recent IQ purchase I feel so liberated, battery-free is stressfree:tup:.

What's the shipping time like on orders currently? If I bought an omnivap today how long before I would receive it approximately? Also is there any difference between the omnivap and carbon fiber omnivap besides the weight and the way it looks?

There is thread devoted only to the shipping aspects.
http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/dynavap-vapcap-shipping-discussion.20415/
And there is no difference between all the omni's, mechanically they are the same, but looks can differ, just like humans.:leaf:

As far as shipping time goes it was amazingly fast, I got my package yesterday and the email about delivery was received 2 days before that. But then my order did get an upgrade in shipping because a previous order was cancelled(couldn't make up my mind and made too many changes:brow:) so don't go by my experience if you want to know how long a regular delivery takes. Sorry I can't give you any info about the comparison between omnivaps for I don't own any. As for @Kozzmozz's request for pix's, well, I kinda feel like a lame new parent taking out a photo collection at the park. I'll absolutely post some photos once I have my little bazooka out in the field, planning on taking this little canon to the "land of the rising sun" in the upcoming weeks. We'll see how my pals in Japan react to the vapcap. Actually I know perfectly well what their reactions will be, packaging and performance are so important to the Japanese culture. Let's see if I can start a vapcap mania in Japan:evil:

Hey man, seen your posts on reddit entexchange, you have some cool toys for sale :)

I ordered my Ti-woody on 12/28, and they shipped it yesterday. So for me, a little over 2 weeks before shipping ymmv.
