Couldn't help but order some new products.... Is 8 total vapcaps excessive?

Looking forward to trying the new screen style in titanium.

Edit. I should also mention @VapCap George's customer service was above and beyond as always. Talk about quick and helpful responses. Not to mention i am not always an easy customer. Thanks as always George!

Is it OK to just soak the stem and Ti tip and screen in ISO to clean them? (removing the rubber gaskets first, of course)

The stems and bodies don't typically need to be cleaned since they do not come in contact with the airpath.

The tip, screen and condenser can be soaked, run through with a pipecleaner and a q-tip. Rise thoroughly and let dry completely before firing up.

I like to use the doobtube that the vapcap came in to soak them.

It is NOT.

@rz I believe George may have the longest at four foot, @VapCap??
He has said when he gets time their will be some pictures of the VC's he has, but we know how that's turning out. Busy, busy man.

My longest wooden one, Bloody Mary Jane, is 150mm, minus the tip, the drill was 3mm by 160mm. I have a 400mm length of SS and 300mm glass tubes but not tried them.

Put this together today Blackwood and Padauk. Looks familiar.

And finished up these. Omni porn.

Stunning work! That is some finely crafted wood. How do you even keep a 3mm x 160mm square? That must be a feat for sure.

The Blackwood/Paduak stem is a sleek Black-tie beauty. That one is being added to my Phattpiggie list for sure!

Looking at all those Twists, it's the Blackwood that captures my eye. But they are all beautiful. I'm loving all the new and creative stems that you churn out. Can't wait for more surprises...

This is genuinely becoming porn.
Is that bad?

It is NOT.

Hey @phattpiggie
That omni porn is very cool
Can you brand them with a name /word
Not to pretty or perfect but personal to yourself
I would LOVE one that said CHOSE
Burnt in or something
O yes vapcap Russian roulette is fun and yes I did get shot in the head
I don't want you to hurt any wood in the proses but can it be done

@Squiby I've put a better explanation of the Blackwood and Padauk here rather than in the VC thread.

As for the drill, you don't it just does what it wants to and you hope for the best,

I can see February fast becoming Squibuary.
The wood arrived for the first part of your order.

@Chose perhaps George could do something with his lazer???

Also another idea for a cap design, close to my heart having Scots blood in me.

@phattpiggie: Just a thought. Are you making MPs for the omni too?

Such a bunch of nice stuff at VC. But all the original VC-MPs are looking awkward IMO. Nearly a waste of nice wood. And the ti MP is sensory a No-Go to me. There are a lot of ways to create - and offer - more sophisticated ones.

@Hogni I will ask George what thread they are and see if it's possible.
I think because of the way they work it may be too much strain on wooden threads.
Metal may be the only way to go with them, I am sure George would be open to suggestions for other shapes for the Ti MP's.

Perhaps a crown adapter out of ti/ss with integrated thread ready to assemble with a wooden or what ever mp. That could be a nice, reliable and reasonable compromise.

Regarding crowns - some out of damascus steel or copper would look awesome.

Anyway, chimed in really to say my girlfriend thinks this is the stinkiest of all the vapes she has had to sit near. Almost as smelly as smoking she says. Just not as offensive.
Now I gotta burn an incense or use another vape to diffuse oil any time I want to use my vapcap.
-_-

Yes I stank out my kitchen on Boxing Day it made mother in law say what's that funny smell
Smellth is important to me so it did my head in a bit as I was using my woody for eight weeks prior with no detection
I worked it out with my new omni
If you cover the carb for the whole cycle as I was the density is very thik almost like smoke so if you need to be smellthy just let more air in and you can get away with it no problem
I love them closed carb fat rips but you can't always get away with it
Some times less is more

Something I found lately that might help, or think about this anyway!?
In my noob experience of different ways I apply torch jets, sometimes I found the hottest part of my OG oven to be near the inside of the metal cap end, or the outside end of the glass OG bowl.
If I put a whole piece in there it might be darker where it's near the cap, if I think some pieces fall near the metal cap inside they'll be darker or I can taste it.
Maybe that's why whole pieces work well in Vapcaps, shoved into the bowl away from the cap.
Maybe your extra smell is coming from another aspect.
Of course too many cycles might also overheat the load?
When I was travelling in virtual darkness once, I had no bad issues with whole pieces pushed in.
Earlier I tried putting a wisp of organic cotton in on top of a half load of ground and that gave very pleasant result with uniform light brown abv.
Tamping the load in would also avoid the heating that I'm seeing in the very end. Or holding it upright more often. But maybe it's all down to my skills with torches, or I could go back to single flame torch at some point.

I just thought if someone packs a bowl bulging out with ground, and wasn't paying attention to how hot they're making the load right at the end, it might smell more, or smell almost like combustion a little??
Again maybe it's just a thing with me or the glass models with twinjet torches etc
Hope it helps you with all those nagging ladies, but it sounds a bit like the night I returned to the hazy room where I'd had my first nervous Vapcap mistakes!
But yeah, every vape can probably stink out a room at some point! For all we know lol

Question about the Dynastash and general usage.
Are you using the stash like a traditional dugout where you just shove the ti tip in and twist to pack it or does this pack it too tightly and are you just dumping a bit out and packing by hand?
I suck it out of the dynastash personally, at least if I'm not being watched. If I am then I'll use it more traditionally

I have found the vapcap to be very forgiving with lid size to the point that it just doesn't matter. Pack it tight, pack it loose, full, whatever. It changes the amount of vapor you get and depending on technique the number of heat cycles, but it just sort of works.

My favorite way to use it is tightly packed broken up buds. But I've been putting significantly less in and it's less smelly. Less vapor, less smell.

How exactly do you do this? Do you get airflow with the hole covered? If so, what is the restriction like?

On mine, with the hole covered, the restriction is so much that I can barely get any air through, even taking a big mouth pull like you would trying to drink a very thick milkshake.

Edit: Just noticed you were talking about the Omni. I have a Ti, so its probably different.

On my Original, the best "carb-blocked" airflow is achieved by pushing the cap shape into a loose fitting cap that almost falls off. This isn't practical sometimes so you can sacrifice some airflow for grip.
People here also pull the cap off its seat about 0.5 to 1mm.
You can test what's doing what at cold temp by blocking the carb, inhaling, and pulling the cap on and off like an adjustable whistle/duck call device while taking note of the airflow changes.
Some have even rubbed down there tips with wire wool or abrasives to increase flow,
but on a Ti you should have grooves??
Wonder if your load is causing all the blockages?

I pack my VapCap of choice in my Dynastash and twist it while doing so. It packs it in there pretty tight but that's how I like it. It doesn't seem to restrict airflow much at all with the older more conduction focused tips. I need to get a new tip or two for testing purposes, maybe with some other goodies too. I see a green envelope in my future...

@phattpiggie an oval shape mouthpiece might be an attractive alternative to the daunting round
Ti MP on the Omni? :p

A silicon (tubing) sleeve makes the metal bit a little bit more teeth friendly, I found. :2c::peace:
