We have been choosing our own images for engraved caps.
I'm sure Dynavap has been collecting all the engraving requests and might even offer a catalogue of images to choose from, one day.
But so far, engraved caps have been custom jobs. You just send them the file of the image you prefer and they will put it on a cap for you..
I think it is around $15. May be more or less depending on the your custom request.
I know it's a while since I was on here. And it looks like I confused the matter by mentioning engraving before my statement,,
But I meant I'm having lots of fun seeing all the layouts of just the Dynavap logo!!
Like our 2 OGs we've ended up one with just a cool Dynavap logo, then another with a wisp of vapor at the end,
and I've seen ones on here that say Made in USA, or maybe Dynavap.com? And the new logo now, all nice, all cool.
It might be nice to always have random logos!?
And yes, I too am afraid that I have scorched a future collectors item cap with my torch!!
But the engraving is something I would really go for at some point too. Personal and lots of fun! So thanks for filling me in on the process all the same!
Has anyone tried using a soldering iron to heat their vap cap?
That's a blistering idea! I have not, but besides proper torches I tried Volcano (not an eruption type one), Solo, and hot coals from fire so far. Also silly wooshy lighters that you see on holidays.
Possibly one or two others that I can't remember!
All with varying degrees of success, taste and bluing/browning effects to the cap.
Also of course I used my pencil style butane soldering torch no problem but I'm sure you mean an electric solder iron or flame heated metal solder iron.
Those big bulky electric ones, you could probably shape one of the stoopid bulky tips to fit around a Vapcap!! Pull the trigger, click...BANG!
