Sadly we don't know exactly how much wattage the unit pulls to keep up temps when drawing on it after the first initial heat up. This should play I role, too, and I would think it uses the whole 27w available...This was the thinking behind my original heat up using more power post
What's your average time between hits?
That's going to be the biggest factor to decide whether it's worth it or not.
It makes perfect sense, so much so...that I understood it in your last reply.
What I was trying to state was that the mighty behaves in the same manner in relation to charge animations during heat up. The mighty when heating up while plugged in will NOT show the indicators blinking like it's charging.
second was a question...if it is only drawing off the battery during heat up and not temp maintenence, would this truly be bad on the battery, if the battery indeed only depletes for a couple minutes at a time when initially turns on?
I said MIGHTY not Crafty.
My Mighty charges and heats simultaneously.
Yeah I realise, I was just pointing out that the crafty draws the same power from the charger when plugged in and heating up as it does when just plugged in, so it is charging and heating simultaneously (maybe not in the same way as you intended now I think about it)
I was meaning if it draws the same power from the charger when charging as during heat up while charging then it is probably just charging the battery as its used, as the battery can supply the power that the charger can't.
Probably wasn't my best link/tag but at the time I think it made sense somewhere in my head, my bad
Can I draw on the collective knowledge here for a few seconds. A couple of little odd things I've noticed and not made too much of them but I'm wondering if it normal or not.
1 - Crafty sometimes does not vibrate when it should eg when turning on, when its green and ready. Very intermittent and without a pattern I can tell. Vibrate is on in the app settings. Am using the modded App to gain access to tech page, and also the third party custom app
2 - Noticed today when the light is green, it has small fluctuations in the intensity of the light. Almost as if the heating element turns on, and at that moment there is a momentary dip in the current to the light making it dip slightly. Anyone else noticed this?
Lastly, some advice would be great. I'm finding that the metal of the crafty bowl is not staying clean and some residue is building up on the metal. There is also residue that is building between the top of the metal bowl and the bottom of the ceramic ring. Seems like these build ups are not being cleaned and are adding to a faint cooked smell that is always there now, even when empty. Anybody have any thoughts on it? Hardly looks new anymore.. I've attached some pictures.. Seeing the pictures big, you can see how there is residue between the metal bowl sides and the ceramic cone ring
Can't help you with your first two questions, but cleaning the bowl can be easily solved. I find it's best/easiest to clean shortly after it was used, while it's still warm.
You can either just dip a Q-tip in some ISO, and wipe it down, or use the metal oil pad if it's a little more stubborn. If you use the oil pad, just dip the pad in ISO, turn the Crafty upside down (to prevent drips in the heater), put the oil pad in, and rotate it around. It's a tight enough fit that it should polish the bowl clean.
Hope that helps!
I don't primarily use the crafty, so I'm less prone to pay attention to the small details. Can I draw on the collective knowledge here for a few seconds. A couple of little odd things I've noticed and not made too much of them but I'm wondering if it normal or not.

My Crafty is still pretty new, but I think the battery life is poor. Pretty similar to the ff. at least with the Crafty, the blinking light gives you an idea whether it needs a charge (I don't look at the app much). I find that when it starts blinking fast when I shut it off, it's ready for a charge. But I get fewer sessions than I would like before charging (usually just 3). That is one of my very few "complaints" with this Vape. Right now, it's still my faveHey everyone, it's been a while since I sold my Crafty after falling for the Mighty. As much as I worship the Mighty, I do sometimes long for the portability and discretion of the Crafty. So i'm just curious, have there been any updates/improvements since release, specifically in terms of the battery durability? I quickly found the battery to wear, and startup heat times drastically increase. This is something that has not happened with my Mighty, and i've used the Mighty at least 4-5X longer. I'm assuming perhaps the Mighty's batteries are better insulated?
I miss the Crafty! But won't consider it again unless the battery has improved. Thanks!
I honestly haven't timed the warmup time. I seems to take a little longer than the pax 2. My best guess is about 2minutes (sorry I can't give you the hard info you want). I'm waiting on a grasshopper for that no wait, immediate gratification.I don't mind the 3 sessions before charging....it's the warmup time i'm concerned with. Correct me if i'm wrong, but a new crafty would heat from 20c-180c let's set in 1m:30, and then after some time (say 30+ hours), that same heat up would be more like 2m:30.

I have recently been thinking about trying out other vaporizers, either the Mighty or the Crafty but I'm very concerned about battery life. I'm aware that the Mighty can be used while charging, which I'm siding for but what also concerns me is how many loads a full charge can push for both units? I'm not too concerned about portability , i also have a solo just in case !
Agreed with @JCat, I have found my crafty to be superior to my pax1 in every way, except of course size.Anyone who smoked a Crafty and a Pax1? I'm just curious how they compare. I have vaped both a pax1 and an Air. I do not like either. Does not draw like my Vapir Rise. Who knew I would really enjoy my vape. Anyways I do want a portable. Will the Crafty pull the same way like an Air and Pax?
Portability not the issue. I don't care if people know what I'm doing. Stealth isn't a necessity. My issue is how the hits feel. By the sounds of it they are comparable to my desktop. Mighty would be nice, don't want to fork over the extra cash for a bigger battery and LCD display.
