I have both as well and very much agree with this appraisal. I'm a flavor chaser, and the EVO is at the very top of the list, along with the original MiniVAP. However, the Crafty (and Mighty) is just a tiny step below in taste. And whatever they lack in that regard, they more than make up for it with convenience. They're different beasts. I'd never want to give up my EVO. But if you're comparing strictly in terms of complete extraction, taste, and hit size, I feel they are comparable. I would give the slight edge to the EVO in taste and hit size though, extraction being fairly equal between the two.
I partially agree and disagree with this. I certainly agree it makes sense to pair the Crafty with a less portable "home" vaporizer so battery life isn't an issue. However, I personally found the EVO to be cumbersome to use with groups. Even with the neoprene sleeve, it's a little tricky to hold. Also, the cord has a tendency to get in the way when passing the unit around, and to pull the unit off the table if you're not careful. I eventually started using the Crafty at home with small groups (3-4 people) for precisely these reasons.I only use the Crafty when I'm out and about, if I'm at home, the EVO is on and ready and go. I like to take long session vapes and enjoy it. The EVO (or any desktop) allows that since you don't have a battery to worry about. It's also much better if you have more then 1 person. I find the Crafty to be best as a 1 or maybe 2 person vape. The EVO can keep a giant crowd stoned to the bone without flinching.
IMO, a larger battery-powered vaporizer like the Mighty works best for groups. And even when vaping solo at home, battery power has benefits. For example, if I'm enjoying my Mighty at the kitchen table, it's a no-brainer to pick up and move over to the couch, whereas I have to worry about wall outlets and extension cords with the EVO. I also find myself vaping outside on my balcony more for much the same reason. There are many things to love about the EVO, but I find myself using it less and less. I may even part with it at some point.
