CCA Liger banger V3.0

Max Vapor. Best looking controller on the market IMHO.

I was checking these out to see exactly how they fit into the current mix of controllers, it looks like its just a PID with a basic phone app, no mentions of any profiles, glob modes, nail tunes, clean modes or anything, the OLED display is pretty cool but doesn't seem like its capable of showing you anything else. I will say the built in silicone mat on the top is brilliant as literally EVERY single friends controller top is all gunked with dab splatter/residue or scratched to hell. I would like to see one in person for sure and turned off would blend into any decor

I can agree with @invertedisdead, it's something so wide spread it seems necessary. As much as I love playing with numbers temps and materials and tricking myself into believing I understand things for short periods of time, my wife has changed the temperature on our Kube exactly 0 times in the past 3 months.

As much as I thought I would rather prefer something 'stripped down', I have to say in hind sight it wouldn't / is not a deal breaker for my usage. (Daily driving)

I would like to put in that I am going to pull the trigger on the cube. The design is a bit "modern" for me, but the functionality, manufacturing, components, and compatibility with so many other coil setups overwhelmed my hesitation. Yes, it is more expensive than my High 5. Yes, if I somehow run out of bluetooth enabled android devices I will have to plug my high 5 back in. Yes, it will probably data mine my dab experience ( somewhat a jk here, you never know until you read the code). It will definitely elevate my options and daily dabbing experience if this thread is to be trusted, and it is the best one I have ran into on the internet.

I have had the same Omron E5CC PiD with Solid state relay for years and years. Although I DO change the temp constantly! Different inserts and different concentrates like different temps for sure!

I was looking at the Hex-nail, I will probably upgrade my Liger controller eventually to it and get a Flowerpot for my Omron, but it has served me well and is fantastic!

Hi Bonsai - as you know, you helped me tremendously when buying my first enail controller and I still have the G9 with Omron (and after we fixed it up, an SSR).

I also have an Auberin RDK-300 and tbh I can't tell a that there's dime's worth of difference. They do the simple job I want done.....good steady temperature maintenance.

I too have looked at the higher end, more functionality, type controllers and just haven't been able to find a need or requirement of mine that is not being met by the controllers I have in hand.

I can't comment on the FP WR, but if you get a shower head FP, I think you will like what it does with flower very much. I'm very happy with the extraction performance of my OG FP SH.

Cheers

Yeah, I also have a cheaper one too and the only difference in mine is a little heatup time difference and energy efficiency. They have both held up for years so far. The cheaper one of mine is in a fake pelican case so I use it on the road with a Chargetech battery, but I did notice that the cheap one drains the portable battery WAY faster than the Omron. Must be the difference in the Solid state and mechanical relay.
Makes me think I should make my Omron the travel PiD.

If you notice Gimodo uses an Omron in his with the built in battery, he must have found that too.

After missing....well every posted product launch date for every product they have had since I started watching them in the V2 days, and the entirely aborted products like the Zeus update (which incidentally was aborted at exactly the same stage as the Liger Air is currently) I don't feel at all comfortable preordering anything from CCA but Im eager to see a lower mass unit that uses the same parts....and hopefully eventually a double deep Liger unit of some sort.

I will say my last transaction with them, the current saph dish sale, went flawlessly and immediate.

Folks might have also realized he doesn't have these units to buy yet. You are basically covering his costs to get stuff made to sell to you. If you are cool with this business model, go for it.

I'm done supporting his ideas with my money. I thought he had investors...

Hard to figure out where the truth in anything he has said lies.

So SORRY Josh if I don't trust you to handle a pre-order PROFESSIONALLY.

I am still waiting to hear back on a 20mm Liger bucket replacement since i first bought it in around new years. CS guy said management has not replied to his or her emails. And when they do reply, CCA will be out of stock on the 20mm vapor buckets and I am Shit out of Luck. I only see about 8 remaining.

Man they cant get shit right over there on some basic shit!

Add to the fact i bought a sapphire insert on March 17th and they still have not shipped as of today. Basically silent since i paid. I believe they just forgot about my order but they dont care as long as i paid them already. Now i have to send them an email all pissed off. I am extremely close on not buying from them anymore as my patients is really being pushed to the limit.

So, I know that it’s still a mixed bag, but I wanted to throw out some love to Josh.

I have received my last couple orders from CCA pretty quickly. That said, it was on items that were in stock.

I have been quick to share my long waits so I feel it’s good to share my great transactions too.

I have the 30mm SIC insert now and feel I'm not getting the best flavor. Should I upgrade to quartz or the obsidian? Quartz has always been the tastiest for me with other nails.

I have the all of the 30mm inserts and the quartz is my least favorite insert for the 30mm flat liger. I havent touched my 30mm SiC in the longest time but i do use my obsidian and like the taste of the obsidian over quartz. I never cared to do a taste comparison for between sic and obsidian.

What temp is your dish actually at? I ask because SiC and Obsidian aren't that much different, and I think my obsidian produces the best tasting dabs I have ever had ( most of my Tucson Delivery guys and Budtenders agree with this as well). Quartz is not an upgrade at all in my opinion, but a downgrade in thermal properties and longevity at the very least.

Quartz is good for uptemps. SiC/obsidian is better for static temp dabbing as it has far better thermal conductivity. That means you can do a low temp dab and vaporize more of the compounds at the same dish temperature.

I have the Sapphire, SIC and Obsidian inserts. I also have an Augusthaus quartz banger. Frankly, as long as the surface is clean I don't discern any flavor difference between them. SIC seems to be the easiest surface to keep clean. For me, temp, perc and carb cap function affects the flavor much more than the surface material.

I am running an auber RDK250 at 585. Just doesn't seem to have the flavor I expect and takes a few hits to clear a big dab.

Is your coil flat?
Not a flat coil, but is your flat coil really flat?
If not throw it in a vice a flatten it. (probably be best to "line" the vice with smooth pieces of metal to protect to coil from the diamond patterning on most vices).

Is your coil spread?
I've gotten better results after slightly opening all of the spirals of the flat heating element to contact more surface area on the bottom of the bucket.

Is your locking nut tight?
REALLY tight?
I've found it's easier to get the nut tighter if I tighten it when the airpath/joint are not connected to the bucket (and w/o an insert in there too).
Figure out where you want the arm of your coil in relation to the inlet hole of the airpath, then remove the airpath and tighten the shit out of the locking nut; replace airpath/joint and dab away.

Looking back on this post it's clear that these steps should be taken in reverse order.
Start with checking to see if your locking nut is tightened completely.

:peace:

Edit: With regard to material tastiness I've found the hierarchy to be:

Sapphire
Obsidian/SiC
Quartz
Ti

I found out in passing that someone I work with uses a glass nail. :uhoh::hmm:
I reacted in a decidedly nondabsnobby way (I hope).

My friends hate/love dabbing with me because I've become such a dab snob. I mean, I have the sickest set up, the most diversity of glass, and only person they know running an enail, so that's good, but then they have to hear my long lectures about temperatures, distilled water, etc., etc.

All of your pointers are solid and any new Ligerer should heed it. Straight up, cleanliness is next to godliness when it comes to yummy dabs. All about
