Well for me I have never had the problem with the old tops or the new ones. I have been using mine every day for almost 2 months. After I turn it off I keep hitting it until there is no more vapor and then I take the top cap off to help it further cool down. Not sure if it is helping or not but...

Yeah this option would be cool, so as your battery started to deplete you could "open it up" to get more juice to the heater, or "close it down" if you are unable to have enough of a draw speed to keep up with the heater (especially with fully charged battery.

My new CU looks fine. After I use the unit I turn it off and keep hitting it until no more vapor is produced, then I take the CU off of the body. I have been doing 5 minute sessions @380 degrees, so far so good.
