Hey! It's been dead all around the Grasshopper recently! So sad.
Quick update, one of my batteries is lasting 2 bowls and charging and about 30 minutes. The other lasts 4 hits and charges in 30 minutes as well. Looks like I'll need to ask about them sending my ordered batteries
I have been mostly charging with the i4, but to time how long it take to charge I use the USB Grasshopper charger.
To the debate:
Exactly when I think of a pre-order I think of video games something a lot of us are familiar with. A new game goes up for pre- order you order it and you get it on said date not a year later.
Arkham Knight would like to have a word with you.
And that's the whole issue. Pre-ordering is bunk.
I refer to the Grasshopper backers as beta testers and Pre-orders are testers for the retail units. The Grasshopper *******IS NOT A RETAIL PRODUCT******* And that's the kicker. When you can go out to a smokeshop or order it online and have it in a week is when it's retail. They haven't advertised this, and for good reason.
Another issue is that when you Pre-order games, now it's 50/50 between in-store retail and a digital game, which by the way, you can also pre-order. The Discs may run out, but I can't recall the last time there was a game that ran out of digital keys on release day. It simply cannot happen for that business.
Translate this to GHL, who has to do a little more than burn some CD's (okay... well bear with me anyway ;P).
I dunno, I've always found this debate difficult because like so much in this world it's very subjective. If you are a pre-order for the Grasshopper, look at yourself as supporting the future of a company, not buying their product. Because until it's retail, no one is really going to get to buy it.
Am I making sense? Or do I have it all wrong?
