I dislike the disorderly conduction controller........ quite a bit.
I use a dabpress e-nail pid box and get more consistent results.
I have a number if different options now but I think I have probably tested these with more controllers than just about anyone and cannot see how you'd have an issue with it. Especially if paired with DC coils.

I'm not trying to be the cheapest out there. I'm using quality products sources here in America from American companies. I am also providing the boro/rubies at discount and do all the work setting it up so I feel the prices we charge are fair. I understand you can get it cheaper especially if you source from China and do the coil yourself. It's funny when I told 7th floor they should start selling these directly, I didn't think they would go out and undercut the kits I'm offering but I still feel we are offering a better value.

I set it at 420 and the actual temp is 580.
The number never changes once it gets hot on the display but the temp swings by roughly 50 degrees as measured with a probe.
Hot one hit cool the next while the other pid shows a 20 degree swing and measures the same.
Makes it a more consistent experience.
I am not ragging on your unit,I bought one.
Maybe I have a wonky unit all the parts are Chinese regardless of where it is assembled?

I find that none of the units are accurate to actual temp/display regardless of brand or cost. It also depends on how/what you are measuring.

You are correct all the parts come from China. However DC sets up and tests everything here in the US so that screens out most of the defects in my experience. I also like their coil build better than some of the other stuff out there. Doesn't sound like your unit is operating properly so I am happy to swap it and see if that is actually the case. Just holler.

Steve does funny videos. He has released one comparing the elev8r to a 2020M DV. He takes all the green hits off the elev8r then, unhygenically in this pandemic, he passes it to Theresa "his lovely elev8r doll" to clean up his dregs. Maybe he and the dolls are in some sort of bubble...
Never seen a manufacturer review a competitor before. He was favourable but pointed out the elev8r is a big upgrade. Fair call too.
Seeing them use it would make me think it wasn't really powerful- if I didn't know better.
Good for a chuckle.

Finally caved in and got an Elev8r during 4-20 sales. Been a collector of butane vapes and this has to be the hardest hitting one (beating out Sticky Bricks IMO). Been a joy using it on a bong without water and also makes it easy for me to pull a bunch of vapor for my wife since she doesn't really want to deal with the torches. Lately, I've been wanting something a little more handy for when I'm just using it by myself. Really torn on getting the standard wand vs a J-hook/Sherlock. It seems like a J-Hook would be easier to use, but the standard wand is easier to set down while the heater is still hot. What are your experiences for those who used both?

the j hook is just as safe to lay down as you still have the steel clip on the heater to hold it away from surfaces.

I use both. The stock wand gets used more often for me. I find it easier to spin than the wpa. I don't really know why I do it but I also like to spin the wand slowly whilst inhaling. I do however want a 14mm j hook because I'm using an 18 with a reducer and that makes it a little clumsier.

I use a j hook with the wand. By itself I find the straight vapour path too short and a little hot, but paired with the j hook it is perfect. The mouthpiece fits neatly in a 14mm joint. You are correct the torching is easier and holding one handed is comfortable with wand held upright and j hook looped around pinkie finger, seperate slightly to clear the hook when finished by just moving fingers apart. My favourite elev8r set up.

Interesting. I'll give it a try.
(Usually, i don't mind about hot vape. Heat even helped me to give up combustion... But recently i tried my Splinter on a jhook. And i find out that less heat means more taste. At least with the Splinter)

good gravy, maybe ten minutes out of the vgez mailer (thanks for tossing in the mat and stir stick) and i already see how this piece (dc with rubies, all glass) will likely be more powerful than the WE and dbv43. folks weren't fooling. very much enjoying not needing a whip like with the dbv. the pure glass pathway taste is glorious. right up there with the tp80, if not better.

can't wait to break this in while ideally avoiding any and all burns/house fires. the metal stand is pretty janky (not that it was advertised otherwise), so it seems like some modification will be necessary and hopefully aesthetically pleasing. definitely feel like the WE with the NV stand is safer. dbv never feels unsafe.

also think i need a differently shaped bubbler because the coil sits about 4 inches from the mouthpiece/my forehead, and if the bowl doesn't come out cleanly and i accidentally yank it with a tad too much force...

I just received my DC elev8er from vGoodiez but my screen and balls were dislodged during transit. Does anyone have advice on how to insert the base screen securely? Do not want to take chances on hot balls.
I tried it without the balls and runs a lil softer than my showerhead and gives me thick delicious clouds and dark abv (just need one or 2 more hits). So if the balls make it too restrictive, I’ll probably go naked.

I found using a nice unbent screen being an important part. I just put the screen on my thumb pad and push the heater down over the screen. Then I use a stir tool to make sure it's all tucked up tight. Personally I went to the hardware store and got one of those stainless reverse snap rings and that makes me feel better but probably unnecessary. Then I load the balls through the small air hole one at a time. That's how I've done it. I am interested to hear others methods

Sorry about that. This should help. Hot balls are only an issue if you are an idiot. Just check your screen regularly and set it up like the video. You'll be fine. There is also another video on our channel that shows me shaking the crap out of a heater and banging it on the desk. It's plenty secure if you position it properly and check it regularly.

Red being my favorite color was the justification I used this time to purchase a Vgoodiez Ruby version. It was easy to order and Vgoodiez answered all of my questions. Thank you for putting up that video! I've been running the herborizer lately, it will be interesting to compare.

hello, friends!

entering this thread, as i am now the proud owner of an Elev8r!

-Torch version. mine shipped from VGoodiez. quick...no problem!
-No stem. To be used with Sneaky pete Mega Globe!
-Big Buddy Torch. Vector butane!

well the first day i combusted because i was lighting the torch WHILE inhaling! stupid stupid!!
and of course it happened twice because i was high lol.
so i cleaned off with iso wipes. (i didnt know one instane of smoke affected flavor so much, but thanks to this helpful forum, now i do!)

the next few times after that i got very, very...very ververyvery high! wow.
i went from Mighty > Dynavap > Sticky Brick > Elev8r and each one gets me higher lol.

-----
tonight i had a second good session with the Elev8r. one medium bowl, two large hits. WOW!!

I found a quote (this thread) that accurately describes my experience:
A very psychedelic experience of cannabis as well which is like pure blissful euphoria and displacement.

yes!
that happened for 20+ minutes as i gently floated back down to earth.
i could "check" if i was still high by looking at the lights in my garage.
they had a circular-trail-rainbow afterglow, every time i did so.

i spent some time listening to music and feeling it intensely!!
-----

Amazing experience. a bit heavy for me as i can't afford ($) to raise my tolerance.
(of course i have a hunch this will do that, very quickly. but someone correct me
if they've had a different experience there!)

The other downside is of course the handling of the little wonder itself!
i'm currently reading through the thread to find tips.
But having to, or trying to, lay down the bowl and shake or stir it...well i have to wait 10-15m to cool down.
a bit inconvenient.

and the higher something gets me, the safer i need it to be. lmao!!
sad days :( i don't think the Elev8r is for me, but we will see.
Cheers!

PS i also have wrist issues making it tough to rotating the Elev8r and heating it.
JCharles had posted some suggestions but unfortunately i do not have the wand, to roll back and forth.

Glad you've finally tried the elev8r. It's a beast, and the purity is hard to beat, especially for the price.

Unfortunately combustion is just part of the learning curve with this device, don't feel bad, just be thankful the glass is so easy to freshen up again!

You should be able you handle the bottom of the WPA after a hit, are you being careful to just torch the heater? You should be able to take it off the WP give it a little shake, and replace immediately. No need to lay it down.

So when you torch the heater you don't need to spin it like you do the vapcap. I generally focus on the dimples, and will rotate the heater about two full rotations in a 25 second initial heat up. It's a much more relaxed technique here.

absolutely! i was happy i could do it with wipes since i ran out of alcohol :)

well I do use the WPA, but of course i must be very careful...and my bud always sticks together, every time.
shaking doesnt move it a millimeter.
so i end up having to take it apart.

oh that's good! much easier :)

So, I'm in on this front as well. Got mine a week or so ago, had the same issue with banged around in transit. I used the video linked above and it helped me not only to put it together but also to understand the process better. I feel much more comfortable and safe having put it together myself (I have zero safety concerns now) and seeing how solid it really is. Makes me wonder what the hell the USPS did to it in transit lol.

So, here's my honest review so far:

1) Best flavor I've had from a vaporizer, period. This is with the glass screen bowl (see below), through glass; I had some quality GG4 that I never realized why people talk about the *flavor* of it so much... now I understand
1.5) The glass screen bowl, like every other glass screen bowl, doesn't actually work for me. I'm sure some weed gurus out there know how to use these glass screen bowls everybody wants, but I don't. And I've tried several. However, found an old DBV setup video showing how to put a screen upside down in a glass wand desktop vape, and I've turned all my convection vape screens upside down and never looking back (works a treat in the Runt, the DiTanium glass wand, and the Elev8r)
2) Heat up time is about the same as my DiTanium, the Errlectric stand is borderline worse than just leaving it on the table imo (next upgrade for me for sure)
3) Steampunk AF
4) Best flavor, did I mention that? I've been running mine at or below 500F consistently, taken it down all the way to 460 and just getting flavor after flavorful hit...amazing
5) Does not put out the clouds like the DiTanium: not sure why or if I just need to keep working on my technique, but I still find myself defaulting to the DT and glass wand for heavy medication sessions (and not just enjoying some really tasty flower)
6) Overall: 9/10, and it's probably a 10/10 and I haven't figured it out yet.

Basically tied for me with the modded DiTanium, which was my "perfect vape" until day three with the DC Elev8r. Now I've got two number 1s for slightly different reasons. Also, I love convection (my other daily driver is a Sticky Brick haha).
