Uhhhh, isn't that what the scoring inside the tip is for? Tiny bowl for MDing...

Na'h @stark1 - I was writing a novel. Done now. Off to the editors.

@cybrguy - I was thinking a whole new Mini-M line with a mini-me theme ... like the late '70 "Lady Finger Cigarettes" campaign that brought out a whole new form-factor in cigarettes.

Hi All,

I'm an engineer and love vaporizers.
When the quarantine hit, I started a little project and modified my Dynavap M. Cause of the isolation, I only used simple tools that most people have at home. The parts u need to build are cheap compared to the original parts.

I will post all my DIY projects here, so stay tuned!

PEACE!

awesome page and instructions! I would definitely love to see how you make your inter cooler!

Do let us know when you have your flux dial-able IH in an
Enclosure. I would like to see one with the port parallel
To the longest axis, so it can be belt toted.

Should be a winnah! :D

How about we shoot for a 5.5mm or 7/32", just a tad shallower. Still a double-clicker of course. House all this in an 8mm stem and you have Mini-VC.

TommyDee,
Hello guys, i actually own the Vapcap M 2020 for more then 1 month now and just loving it. Works very well with a Prince Pocket torch. I've had a bunch of session vapes like Arizer, Crafty, Fury 2, Fury Edge and E-Nano. I bought a Vapcap because i wanted to change my vape experience. Got busy with E-nano at home, kinda hate the process, its a huge thing to bring to your mouth then this cable.. oh..

I want to get a wood stem but the original Woody is gone  i've seen those by Ed but they are just huge in diameter, is there other stems like the original one with same diameter as the tip ?
A spinning mouthpiece would be nice also but then i need to get bigger ti parts if i understood correctly. So a simple wood midsection would be nice to spin in wet hands.

You can ask in this forum for a woody stem/body. Quite a few talented crafts persons here.

If getting a used one is not an issue, you can post a request in the wanted classifieds.

You should be beaming shortly.

I, for one would go for it. I’ve been an advocate to cut off that nub on the M or straighten it since the get go. Since the discontinuation of the woody there hasn’t been an elegant replacement to fill that void. That nub just looks cheesy to me

I wouldn't call the latest wood stems by @Ed's TnT huge in diameter. They are a little girthier than the old Woody's, but not by a whole bunch. Could be a reason for the thicker units.
Here is my first Dynavap anything, A Gen 2 tip with a single crown Cocobolo Woody stem by Ed.
And Eds current woody in Mango I just recieved from @VGOODIEZ .

So a bit thicker, not quite as sleek as the OG being tip thick, but not huge by any means. Kinda like the Nano not being huge for a plug/cable in unit. ;)

Oh! Is the left one is the OG? looks so smart and minimalist, i'm just in love with this sleek look and without any metal mouthpiece :love:it was manufactured by Ed also ?

Thanks! I will get a look.

One more question guys, about the heating process on the 20M.
All my dosages are micro, kinda 50% of the chamber if not lower (thanks to the new feature with the screen, but it was kinda PITA to put it on place).

The heating technique i use:

I put a micro-nug without grind.

First heating: Fast spinning of the vapcap and heating with a 1 flame torch (prince pocket) all over the cap until i hear the click, this hit is the most flavorful.

Second heating: Fast spinning of the vapcap but heating only at the mid section and 3 seconds after the click.

Grind the nug with fingers and re-put in.

Repeat the first one due to heat loss after the grind manipulation.

Third heating: Same as the second but at the bottom of the cap, boom! huge clouds.

Is there something i do wrong or can i do better with other tehniques ? :science:
Its rare that i get a dark brown abv btw :sherlock:
Its hard to combust this one but i still dont want to damage the cap.

Yes, that's an OG Woody, yes made by Ed. If you zoom in the pic you can see his tiny branding and the early DV logo on there too.
About your heating technique, sounds like your on the right path. Find the boundaries of your M and dance around there. The Ms are a bit harder to combust with and can do more heat cycles per load, ime. Not a bad thing, but you do have to find your past the click sweet spot if you like disobeying the click.

Sounds like you are doing great with your vc! I think that there is no wrong way to do it as long as it doesn't combust! I like to do slow spin on the vc with a slight up/down action with my torch hand. Heat closer to tip .. get a lower temp hit... and vice versa... I have used my vc with ground material as well as just putting in small chunks of the goods... both works well for me. I find that I will adjust the way I torch my cap based on the situation, such as ambient temp and setup (ie. winter time/ vs summer time... ti vs ss tip...etc)

I actually like the combo of your heat treating and that stem very much. Nice job.
Could you show how it looks without a cap? TIA

Thank you! its my 1st time..didnt know what i was doing...used a small torch and ran out of butane halfway thru :( I think i over torched the tip so it lost saturation and went back to mostly chrome..lol Here is a pic without the cap

That color coordinates so well with the Galaxy body. Great job!

Does anybody know if heat-treating to colorize alters the physical properties of the metal? ... I'm thinking about "Forged in Fire" and how critical heat treatment (tempering) is and how it changes the grain structure of the steel ... making it too brittle, for example? I know that's for carbon steel, but stainless steel must also be subject to alteration from heat treatment, to some degree (???). I wonder if a tip that has been heat-treated to alter its color will subsequently cause a cap to click sooner, or later than, when it used to click before it was heat-treated? I also wonder if it alters the fit ... maybe the "smaller-oven" settings of the CCD position will actually effortlessly pop into place afterwards! (always a PITA, it seems).

Also, is a heat-treated tip's color more durable, or less so, than a voltage-anodized tip's color? This only pertains to the Ti tips, as the S.S. tips can't be anodized ... AFAIK.

I am a new Dynavap user, preordered the 20M. I am finding myself drawn to it much more than my other vapes at the moment. At first i thought the 20M was not estedicaly pleasing as much as the 19M. Now i find i really enjoy sprining it and staring at it as it shines. You can really see the detail the more you look at it.

Some of the wood and glass assecories i thought were crazy at first. With more i see i am really enjoying the unique variations people are doing.

This vape, like no other i have seen, has rekindled a little of what i feel was lost when "heady glass" was mostly replaced with "scientific glass" and weed pariphanalia became more corporate with clear glass and a brand name years back. My buddies and i used to get stoned and go to the local head shop and check out all the locally blown glass like it was a museum. Now you go in and its all a bout the bubbles baby! And a cool sticker on the side. Lol. Its all good.

Interesting comparison. I have a gen 2 woody that looks very similar. Yes, it is thinner compared to most others being made now, but that was an issue for me.

I stopped using my Ti woody because it started developing a crack on one end. When you look at the wood on those, the wood is very very thin and IMO this led to its fragility. DV sent me a metal cap to put over that end to support and hide that slight split, but if I ever got a wood stem again I would want something with a little more thickness to the wood stem.

Shortly after that I picked up one of Ed's first run of the wooden vongs. This is a much sturdier piece with thicker wood. However, all those older stems used a condenser and, as I've said before, I came to hate condenser stems because of the PITA time I would have with those damn condenser gaskets not staying put. Whatever I get from now on with be condenserless.

In general, I like the purity of glass the best, followed by the organic nature of wood, followed by metal ... and in last place, plastic. However, I saw a very cool carrying case for the DynaVap on Reddit that's plastic and I will share it below. I'm not sure of what percentage of FC members are on Reddit, but in case you ain't ... check this out:
