So after multiple RMAs (yeah, you know this tune) my OG GH was finally returned to me this past Aug in good working condition. That is, it was running cold after multiple RMAs then finally they fixed it properly (I think) and it performed again as it did when new. Not a DD for me, as use a lot of desktops, but I love a proper working GH.
Went to use it on Thurs night and it suddenly started running cold again. The AVB was totally unacceptable as was the amount of vapor from flower that i know indeed steam pretty dang good.
I was very disappointed (VERY) but did notice that when I tried to use it that evening, when I first turned it on there was a very small wisp of smoke/vapor...very small...out of one of the air intake/LED light holes.
I'm thinking either something in the GH fried or perhaps more likely a bit of flower dropped through the screen and was hosing something up.
To the garage yesterday and my air compressor. 90 PSI ,out of a fairly small aperture air gun, in all of the intake holes and voila', it worked perfectly again.
TBH, I have long thought the lack of access to the heater and the temp sensor for cleaning out would result in issues and I do wish there was some way to get in there.
But reasonably high pressure squirted in there seemed to be the trick.
I do know that
@Hopper Labs said that in the IO, they have shielded the temp sensor better....but its still hard to see how it and the heater won't get crapped over time and blowing in one hole hoping to blast stuff out of the screen holes isn't optimum and will do nothing for any accumulated reclaim in there.
So, my GH is back in great shape but I do....really do...wish that the heater and temp sensor were accessible for light cleaning as, IMO, no matter how coarse you grind, some small bits of plant material are sure to get down there.
Cheers
