IS there any difference in bowl size or vapour production?

Can the Mighty use the phone app?
I don't have both (crafty for me), so can't answer for certain, but I believe the output is the same or really close. I believe the oven size is the same.

Only the Crafty uses an app. The Mighty is self contained (some people prefer that)

Is there a general consensus on whether the reliability of the Crafty has improved with the new 20% battery life units? Thinking of picking one up but I already have a Mighty so not sure if it worth it. Has anyone with a new unit had theirs fail?

No the only consensus is +20%battery and some plastic upgrades to the body... the reliability of the crafty is because of the failure rate and since S&B never were open about it... they didnt give the users any feedback of the update of this issue... the thermal fuse is one of the problems, check this forum for info or PM me. If i had a mighty i would never go to a crafty... its expensive and you are only buying a small version of the mighty...no more than 5sessions when new and quickly will go below 4 till u have almost a 1,2 session vape, without any replaceable batt they need new stuff and not updated versions for 3 year products....but still the performance is great for a portable... now you have a lot of new stuff for desktop, still they rock for portable but not for long i guess... price vs quality to start...

10 hrs in, no problems yet - I expect it to last quite a while... Let's see :)

Mate if you spend almost 300 euros i think it will last more than 10h... lets talk when it reach 150h, while inside warranty CS works great...in 26months (2 after warranty ended) i had 2 units both "died" with +- 150h and 13months, the 1st one was replaced by a new "upgraded" unit with no questions asked, the 2nd passed 2 months of warranty so they....only offer a discount on a new unit...no repair service. With some help i replaced the thermal fuse (2euro fuse) and works again... dont get me wrong you can find all types of different opinions about this.... just read about it.

No for both in my opinion, crafty only have app because dont have a way to change setting like the mighty.

@dave123 i have a crafty and i had some issues with S&B CS, i also have an IQ a EVO a Puffco plus and a Lynx, if i needed to add up a portable, i would go and see the haze square, the Argo and other ariser product like the Solo 2, Boundless Tera, Airvape X, etc
Getting a crafty will not add up anything to your experience since you have the mighty, only the size matters here...

Sorry thought u had the mighty, in terms of vapor quality yes, in terms of the device itself no unless you are willing to spend that money every 24months (im not saying this will happen only my experience...) i dont have any issue in the end result of the crafty, vapor quality, vapor production, hits you hard, its a great device, but if you read this thread (which i advise you to do it before thinking of getting one) you won't buy it, if you really want an S&B device and portable save more money and get a mighty.
The solo is a good device, with the Argo you will get a similar experience but does it worth it? dont know the Argo. How much is your budget? 420 is the time to get a vape...on demand or session vape, portable or desktop, yes a lot of stuff to think out lolololol crafty today is way to expensive....today i wouldn't spend more than 200€ in a portable unit i would go for a solid desktop (since i vape 90% @ home) and a Spirit or starry2 under 100€, i would wait for more reviews from the Haze square, Argo, Tera and Airvape X. If u only have 1 unit i would go for the mighty....or the MV1 (never try it so will depend on the experience lolol)

@dave123 , I mostly agree with @karec , but he may be confusing one point; I don't think you need to plan to buy a new Mighty every two years, many folks gets a long life out of it, which is much less the story with Crafty.
I don't have karec's broad experience (sounds like he's tried a lot), I've only ever used Pax 1 & 2, Crafty, Mighty and Grasshopper. If only one I'd go hands down with a Mighty. Then the hopper, a wonderful experience but they are not reliable, lots of factory service usually required, and it produces a hot vapor (per your question in Mighty thread).
Strongly recommend you take advantage of the 4/20 20% sale at S&B direct and get a Mighty;

Sorry, Crafty folks! But I am a guy who's blown through 4 Crafty's and had a Mighty last several years.

I was referring to the crafty mate, so yes you agree with me lololololol and the confusing was my bad, im Portuguese lololol english not my 1st.... i dont know that much devices but the ones i have mentioned before are new units and cheaper ones with improved tech so i think people must take them into consideration when buying a new unit.... and if you add up the price.....every buy i made was with the help of FC, sneaky petes, Vapecritic, 420 vapezone, watching reviews and making a decision before trying... so i watch a lot of stuff and im informed but comparing to the US guys... (now its a different game, who would have thought 10 years ago that the US would be in front of this...) i own Firefly 1 (dead) Crafty, DaVinciIQ (dry herbs) Vapexhale Cloud EVO (everything), puffco plus and lynx (Rosin & oils), and tried Spirit, boundless CFC, dynavap classic, volcano, mighty, and others that won't deserve to be mentioned...

Nope. That's the remarkable thing about the Crafty. It's the same vapor and bowl size as the Mighty in a smaller body. I've tried vaping with the Mighty cooling chamber on the Crafty and vice versa -- I don't notice any difference in vapor quality.

If I could only have one, I'd pick the Mighty because it's more durable and has a larger battery. However, it's not as practical when you're out and about -- portable but a bit cumbersome with zero stealth factor. For that reason, I have both.

In fact, my Crafty just died after three years and 90-something hours. I'm going to buy a replacement today if I can ever get the damn S&B website to load.

Just got a new Crafty yesterday.I have several other high end vapes, but this Crafty really rips. I know I will have some issues down the road, but I also have a plan to deal with them. In the mean time I’m going to be wasted..

Storz bickel website has the terms at the bottom of the page and read section 8 carefully it says they offer repairs thus section 1 of 8 also becomes binding outside of warranty.

They only try the 248 euro technique as a frontline support tool. If you stand your ground you get what you should aka repairs for a decent fee.

You're right thats was my "death problem" and its the thermal fuse, a 2usd easy fix that S&B dont offer a repair service.

Originally they offered a 30€ discount on a new crafty which i declined because i got 2 devices that broke after 26 months so i want available to spend 300€ every 24 months.. after 10 months i saw a video that show the fix and i went for it, didn't had nothing to loose right? Before going for it i contacted S&B for them to comment the video, they then offered 60€ on a new unit but declined to comment...and they closed the RMA... never contacted again...

Im sorry but i disagree, i already posted all my emails between me and them and never i was offered a repair service and just talking about this issue i was banned 2 times at FC. Crafty is a wonderful device but in my opinion i didnt got the right treatment by S&B...

What is a decent fee when we know what takes to fix this Red/yellow error light? (2usd) do the math

I paid with capitolone mastercard i told them if they did not offer battery service for 60 euro as stated in writing i could use section 75 and recoup the entire 348 euro. And that is stated in section 8 of thier own terms. So as i said they binded themselves but unless you can uphold that they can not offer a service.


Thats why mastercard is so good there is no judge judy court or anything its a call to mastercard who will refund you if you are correct. In short dont use paypal dont use cash and try to buy direct. But this is not helpful outside the eu either. In that case i would say ask first and keep the email like me before buying anything. And then anything stated in the email is legally binding.

Just got my Crafty yesterday and had a question about charging. The manual says you should charge with the provided adapter. Are there any do's and don'ts to charging with a usb and powerbank? I just want to be sure I don't mess up the battery since the Crafty seems kind of fickle when it comes to the battery. I am planning on using the provided usb cord hooked up to an anker powerbank.

You'll be fine. Standard one is 2 amp. Charging with anything less just slows the charging process.

Appreciate the tip but I'm in the U.S. where warranties and (contracts generally) don't work that way.

I contacted S&B and they offered me a replacement for $179, which was frankly better than I expected.

high all :cool:hope I'm in the right place , I'm new here and looking for help/advice :hmm: my crafty has stopped working and my volcano is no good as a portable .
so it was 2 years old (a warranty replacement for the old one that died at 250 odd hours) 338hrs use and couldn't do a heat up without being plugged in and even then it took forever so I replaced the battery with a sony vtc6 and it worked awesomely for about an hour on boost when the lights started flashing red/yellow so I changed the thermal fuse and charged it up , it was again on top form and working on boost for about an hours use when the battery died , now when I plug it in to charge it vibrates the lights flash green,red,blue and then there's no charge light . the phone still connects with the app via Bluetooth but only shows one bar on the battery scale. ive taken the battery out it was at 3.0 volts and charged it in a wall charger to 4.20v then put it back in but it still shows only one bar of power and the app says the battery is low and to charge it. Ive even gone to the effort of trying another new battery (30Q) incase the vtc6 had some kind of issue but its still the same :shrug: has anyone any idea what to do ? I'm guessing its a pcb issue but am lost at this point . I'm thinking about sending it to a pcb repair place to see if they can fix it ? ? ?

thanks for the reply :) I've reset it through the app as it wont switch on properly to use the ten second press , it flashes red with a vibration as you press the power button then it flashes blue on/off for a few seconds then just stays connected to the app for a bit .
if I plug the power cable in it stays connected to the app , it also just flashes blue on/off if the power button is pressed . if I disconnect the power cable it stays connected to the app for a while but auto shuts off and disconnects from the app after maybe 15 mins .

any other ideas ? :peace:

I’ve had great experiences with S&B customer service. Fill out the repair request and find see what they say. The repair may be worth it. They may send a new unit at discount. Cross your fingers and give it a try. Great customer service!

Definitely worth a try. My experience with S&B cs has been very positive. My discounted replacement Crafty is on the way as we speak!
 
I've always had excellent customer service from s&b and deal with them direct however my crafty is just over 2 years old and was a replacement for the first one that chucked its hand in just before it was 2 years old ! as it was out of its warranty period I replaced the battery myself (£8) then had to replace the thermal fuse(0.30pence from maplin) so I'm pretty sure they'd just want nothing to do with it !
what I really want to do is repair this one and see how long it will last , I've been meaning to phone a domestic pcb repair shop to see if its something they'd be able to help with as I'm guessing its a pcb problem :hmm: or whatever controls the charging/voltage reading ? just thought there may be someone who has had the same problem and knows the fix :peace:

My Crafty stopped working some time ago, I forget the exact problem but I know it no longer heats up. I suspect the battery most likely.
I had a look inside the unit thinking I could replace the battery hovever there are a couple of other cables coming from the battery besides the +/- contacts perhaps temperature sensors? Or maybe thermal fuses (reading above)?
I didn't try removing anything at this point but put it back together. Does anyone know what the other cables are for and if I can just transfer whatever they are onto a new battery?
Basically I'm trying to replace the battery myself but don't know if it is possible because of these two extra connections to the battery.
