Discontinued The Sublimator

My Sub is now unusable :( I was using the E-Nail and then switched in the Apollo onto the atty without noticing it was off and that was apparently enough to fuse the two pieces together. I tried freezing it and then heating it back up to full but the two pieces will not budge. Anyone have any ideas?

If I can't fix it by tomorrow I'm buying a new one (for fast replacement) and then contacting PV to get the warranty process going. I'm hoping it's covered by the warranty, haven't heard of this happening before anyway.

Maybe torch the atty, while lightly grabbing the heater. It may come loose? But you said you heated to full....

Let it cool down, then get a hard object and hit it between the joint (where they join) until it comes out. Works every time. Enrico's recommendation.

Let me know how it goes.

I was going to recommend something like ^that, but it would have been purely an educated guess so I held back. Although I probably would have tried whacking it while heated first :freak:

SUBLIMIATOR CAME TODAY! like 2 hours ago... :o

I waited an hour outside for the postwoman, and I think I scared her a bit when I whispered "i've been waiting" as I akawrdly approached her before she could even get to the door..

anyways,,,

Got my watt meter and heated the substress up to 40w for 10 minutes, then put my apollo on my atomizer (like sex), reached "thermal equilibrium" :dog:, and then did a TINYYY TINY scoop of some og kush, and took a nice SMOOTH and SILKY rip from the sub :). I am liking it so far. It is a very simple device but is powerful feeling and looking. Not gonna lie, I was really scared to try the sub. It kinda makes me nervous to think of this powerful machine goddess pumping out gasseous thick vapor.

update:
Okay not gonna lie I got excited and just went for another hit at 35w since my first session ended up nicely toasted, but not as dark as I normally like it. So my second sesh, and I haven't burned myself! I must say I am very attracted to hot things, but always get burned. So I will highly respect this device and just be really careful. I do wish I didn't have to worry about burning myself, but it somewhat adds to the mestique of the sublimator :smug:. It is amazing to just be able to take a nice quick rip or two and be done with a bowl.. I used to like sitting around and vaping for 30 minutes, but this is just efficient and fast, & gets you medicated in a breeze!

update 2:
Okay, may do another small session, the sub is a lot of fun to use!! :) Its great because I am using very small amounts of material in it so I feel that I am compensating for having a bunch of small sessions on of my first date :)

okay,, enough typing and thinking,,, more subbing.

will update more later once I have more time to play with this beast! :buzz:

update 3:
This is the most fun I have had with a vaporizer and "the high" for a long time. Idk why it is different, I am vaping the same meds but i'm feeling like enrico when hes so happy and laughy silly fun all the time ;)Maybe it's that sublimator! Also I surprised my girlfriend when I told her I had had 2 sessions already with my sub (she's studying that school stuff in the other room), she couldn't believe how functional I was, and conversation flowed with ease and I was well engaged (a lot of times i'll lose track of what she is . We were coming up with some crazy new innovative ideas too about our future blog site and selling jewelry and craft things on etsy, etc.. So stoked right now. Wow, does anyone else notice the different type of high with this vape? I think it was what I have been searching for when I first got the cloud.

oh also, current observations on my sub using a "kill a watt" reader:

32-34 Watts = light brown, functional nice high
37-39 Watts = dark brown, still functional! great body effects, sedative yet productive and very creative!
no combustion yet or material that was black, seems like the sweet spot for herbs is 40 watts or under.

also, when I first plugged her in, I was reading around 64 watts! I don't think this one has suffered any watt dropage, and I hope that it will stay this way. I plan on only keeping it on a few hours at a time, never 24/7. I will also only push to full wattage for doing cleaning on the atomizer and apollo.

I wouldn't really called "Sublimator Oil", 'reclaim'. I believe that Sublimator makes it's own product which would be heat extracted. So the most important thing with this product is that it is FULLY DECARBOXYLIZED. That being said, you can utilize it in every way you need! You can eat it (We're currently building up to make some crazy pills), Topically apply it to skin (Wounds and bruises), or just plain old dabbing. If you're telling me to compare the resin from an MFLB glass stem, I'd go with the sublimator oil for sure.Especially when you can have so many different types of form, and strains going into the pile, I think this would be the best!

@ tommii,

thx for the reply. I agree with you that sub reclaim is much nicer that the reclaim i get off my oil rig (oil reclaim) and also nicer than my vap reclaim (hot air extracted ssv/lsv/mflb stems etc, or iso cleaning reduced extract.)

all are relaim to me, but different types :)

i mean herb sub reclaim compared to oil reclaim.

or maybe your 2 mix together?

on the subject of slublimator replaim

I only get herb reclaim. (I will run herb reclaim though sub, but not extract types) I have a Ti dabber setup and it's the king for concentrate consumption afai-am-concerned

so sub reclaim: it's a truly beautiful thing. I almost like it more than butane first wash. why? because no concentrates that's why! haha

no seriously. sub oil. is thick! it's always a clear but dark red. some truly beautiful stuff! and it tastes great! with no expectorant effects. as iso and butane extracts can have.

I'd assume that herbs would be much better due to the fact that Concentrates are always restricted not to have all properties, which would be all the terpenes and oils, things that make this baby taste good. When the herbs are heated, Every necessary compound is extracted (I haven't been using my apollo since the earlier days, but for sure I will come back to it and have a 14mm glass adapter so i don't have to rip it off my reclaim piece each time it suctions.

@Tommii

I have zero experience with concentrates, so I defer to you here, but my sub reclaim smelled, tasted and felt very similar to the reclaim I get with my other vapes (but I have to clean them to get the reclaim).

in my exp standard reclaim does not have the same consistency. sub reclaim is thicker, and red. where as vapor reclaim is more brown, and in most cases has more particulate matter in it. (I use the double screen method [ultra fine screen at the bottom and a coarse one on top to rest my herbs on.] in my sub and I think it lets me get better oil reclaimed as a result.)

the taste is great as it never came into contact with any solvents.

like i said though I have many different reclaims.
1. iso wash cleaning based reclaim from my vapes (vapor reclaim from glass)
2. glass reclaim without using solvents.
3. abv butane extracted reclaim
4. sublimator herb extracted reclaim
5. oil rig reclaim (raw and solvent style again) I use ethanol to reclaim oil just so I can easily keep track of what is what.

sub reclaim is the king! it's so thick and tacky. it's got a beautiful unique colour to it and it tastes the best of all of them too!

you know that feeling like you wanna keep exhaling when iso and butane had been used in the extraction? I hate that feeling and shy'd away from solvents somewhat as a result.

I like sublimate oil from herb a lot more than BH0, Iso, or co2 extracts. I have probably a dozen dabs of BHo since August in the Sublimator with most being the last week. I feel like vaping the bho changed my sublimate. Its now redder, harder, and darker than flowers and bubble sublimate. I have to take some rips to see if I can notice a difference of taste. I will probably clean my atomizer completely and stick to nonsolvents for subbing.

So, lets talk Sublimator. From my experience, the most closest smell that the Sublimator Reclaim could resemble something, would be Rick Simpson' Phoenix Tears. I assume that both smell and give off all the oils and terpenes (They mash the herb really hard while there is iso), but to it as well smells decarbed all the way (They cook it in a pot to evape). I can't compare the pungent smell to anything else. I'll be honest, I've never had any reclaim from vapes except the tiniest off a MFLB glass stem which was almost nothing. So I cannot tell you an accurate answer in comparison of other smell. (I'll head over to the cafe and check out their volcanos.)
