All too true, that's the spot to clean, seems it needs to complete a circuit ... I played with a magnet and no mouth piece it stays on in temp change mode. I then put magnet near top of lights and it goes off... Shut down like mp is retracted.. See magnet in mp, silver rectangle.. I thus see no magnet near the lights turns on but without mp its temp mode. I left mp out and joined inner tube to outer(spring) puts on heat mode, purple lights. So that's why pushing mp to edge works... It completes electric circuit that enables heater core. That's the spot or cleaning g-spot or our beloved pax..

I actually have the perfect tool for cleaning this spot and I was excited because I thought for sure that was my problem. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to be fixing the problem. I didn't find any gunk in there, and the spring switch operates perfectly fine without the mouthpiece on. I guess I will contact support and see about trying another mouthpiece...really don't think that is going to work though.

Pax-solo comparisons... ( love em both):

    1. Taste... Solo wins definite... It just tasted better for longer on solo..
    2. Preload... Pax wins here, the battery covers of mflb works on solo stem... Can be done
    3. Load bowl/oven... Solo wins its quick and exact. Just put tube in to pre chopped and suck... Done.
    4. Session times... Pax wins, it does not stop every 12 mins of run time.
    5. Total run times. How many sessions... Solo wins its battery keeps going, I've never had it shut down during a session. Pax runs out faster but is sooo tiny too.. Thus closes this gap.. Hard to compare, like apples to pears.
    6. Stealth... Pax is supreme, can get no visible vapor exhale and still be ripped or nicotined up. Used it in front of lady in bread shop she served me and knew nothing bout the mj vaping just 1/2meter away from her... Super stealth. Looks like I rub my nose and or mouth.
    7. Abv after finish on high... Both compare so well here, solo does need a stir too... Volcano cannot get more out of abv like it can when I have abv from other vapes..
    8. Heat time... Pax again 45 sec to high is awesome you can hit it gently during heat up and get real flavor..
    9. Use methods of temp setting... Solo wins just adjust and keep going, no pulling apart first. I start on 4 on solo end on high... Start on yellow on pax ending too on high.
    10. Stir points... Both same empty out into hand... Hot! Then crumble and re insert. Pax wins it does not burn to drop it into oven... Solo pipe burns u if u not blow bowl cool first... Clumsy looking.

They both perform similar they each have a place I never leave home with only one.. Then I'm covered for all eventualities... Pax does feel hotter faster but it's a vape... It must get hot... Since its small it feels hotter quicker... Great for winters IMHO, doubles as a hand warmer... Perfect grip size and it gets you ripped to boot... Heavenly. Arizer you are good... Ploom you also are good... Great products.. Worth the dollars. Every cent. So stealth is pax taste is solo and rest is a trade off..

Now for draw rate... Or resistance... I'm playing with that now... I actually increased resistance up top, in mp!! I used cotton ball, tiny and put it up mp tube to jam exit hole bit. It slows airflow out put and seems to allow oven to keep up. I suck air through it now not past it... But slowly... Very slow, makes things quiet no rushing air increases stealth in very quiet areas but puts out big clouds so down my shirt they go... When I exhale. Or I hold breath for as long as I can and exhale super slow like a diver coming up on an empty air tank... Little bubbles, slow steady exhale in this case. The only thing that can give us away is that the pax does have aroma of what's being vaped. Smell does leach out from our hand aw shucks. In short high resistance lowered hit learning curve to generate a gratifying cloud of exhaled vapor. Also noTed no vapor escaping from mp when it's not getting hit. I can see 20 hits per fill even more. This thing is good there too.. Resistance is king IMO for conducting vapes. Mflb has not enough resistance... IMHO. But it's hoses for courses here its up to you the users to decide what works best for y'all.

Also if I want to stop half way through, I turn off and keep inhaling as I increase airflow into oven by tilting oven cover over to a side, cools load fast. Now will play with screens next. Pax I love you, you put me on the mark every shot anywhere.

It's trichromatic quality that makes great vapor.. Filled with kief it's dynamite just like in a solo.. Killer and good pain relief too. My back felt like it was ten again... So nice

How do I add a picture to this post... Help... I used electric tape on oven door to make a flip door so it hangs on and not spills its load.. Just in case see. I noticed I can pop it open as I walk and empty and refill with out stopping. Good for car rides.. Also notice how it makes less vapor on tobacco. Was it really designed for the other herb... Cause that's where it shines. It's it just me? Any ways I take pax to bed to rest me in pax tonight. My wife won't know, but cover em lights they bright... The only chink in tha armour

Maybe but the serial number under mp would probably be right if you have credit card evidence it should be ok. I hope for you.

If you bought it online, then they can just look up your order. If you bought it from a store and they won't take it back without receipt, contact Ploom.

Make sure it's clean if it is then get a sharp knife or something metal to bridge the gap between inner tube and outer, join em together electrically, if it goes to heat mode then the mouth piece is dirty inside. Every one cleans outside, that joins to spring and rubs so cannot cause big issue, the inner glides over the vapor tube and might not contact due to film of resin or particle of abv creating high resistance. Push mp to side it should engage. If not push to side as push down a bit the release up slowly keep pushed to side... Not much force too ok. Gently gently. Hope it helps. Make sure u get purple light with metal bridge trick to test pax if it fails that its dead.

    Thanks so much

If I were you, I would still go get some of the Gum teeth cleaners and try again. I have never gotten any "gunk" or anything obvious from that spot, but whenever I get the temp light issue, it fixes it every time so far. It's worth a shot before giving up and sending it in for repair.

Also, try this: remove the mouthpiece and blow into it for about three seconds and then re-seat. That will often fix the problem temporarily to allow a session. I'm not sure why that works, but it does.

Has your vape worked fine since? Anyproblems at all? I'm skeptical to try it because the head shop sayed hash is bad for the pax?

I think it is bad for the Pax only in the short term.... I think it just requires more expedient, and carefully attended cleanings.

I've used bubble hash in my Pax once. A very small thin layer sandwiched between two beds of flower worked fantastically and cleanup was no more difficult than normal. I find that the employees of my LHS have a lot to learn and their advice should be taken with huge grains of salt.

i find that to be the case in all HS's i have been in. was in South Carolina in a HS not too long ago and watch as the store clerk sell an obvious new vapor user a crappy box vape when he had some decent (not great) models in his store.

I've also used hash in my pax with really good results. I've done sandwiches with some soft bubble, harder stuff works great if you run it through the grinder. The vape just keeps on coming.

New poster on here, definitely appreciate this thread in helping me to decide to buy this thing. I don't mind maintenance, and am really enjoying it so far.

Thanks for posting that, check out that sweet pic of a Pax full of kief!

My Pax is still working like a champ ;)

Yeah that's right, you can see I took out the plate at the end (it was clean to begin) because I wanted to see how oily it would get. So it works but it you just sandwich hash between some herb layers you can keep it a lot cleaner

Anyone know where I can get one of these in Canada ... or where to buy it online where I don't have to pay $30 to have it shipped to Canada? I really want a Pax before Christmas but am really having trouble as Vape World won't ship to Canada and a few others are charing almost $30 for shipping.

    HELP FELLOW CANADIANS!

I could not find any coupons to use for the Pax, and the Vapeworld coupon for FCers specifically says it cannot be used for the Pax. I think you are better off buying directly from Ploom. The price is the same through them as through any dealer I could find (forget Ebay). That way you will be sure to get the newest model of the mouthpiece, and if you ever have to send it for warranty repairs, Ploom pays shipping both ways. If you buy from a dealer, you will pay to ship it in.
