Thanks for getting back. Great idea on the concentrate barrel, definitely worth while getting that up and operational. Any other add-on's or accessories going to be available for the device?

Can you give us a general idea on cleaning and maintaining the device:

* Is the heating element/core replaceable? And what's the expected life time?
* Are the screens replaceable?
* Can the unit be dis-assembled to a degree, separating the electronics from the herb chamber and air path for cleaning?
* What is the advised method of cleaning?

Thanks

The heating element core aren't replaceable. The heating element core is *looking* like it will have a 2-3 year warranty and possibly longer. The batteries are a little different. I'm hoping to have more definitive information on that by tomorrow.

They can be disassembled a little bit. The screens at the bottom of the chamber come out for cleaning (we'll be shipping the units with 3 replacement screens). The finished units will have a cleaning brush tucked under the lid (this wasn't a feature on the model I used for the video).

I generally use rubbing alcohol and a cotton swab, but a pipe cleaner will work as well. With cotton swabs, you have to make sure they are tightly wound, otherwise they fragment and can stick to the screens a little bit.

In the final units, the lids will open a little wider to make it easier to clean the chamber.

For airpath cleaning, the draw straw unscrews and we've added another little feature as of Monday this week: when the straw unscrews, there will be a secondary hollow chamber just below it so users can add some flavoring if they wish. The bottom part of that (under the lid) will also unscrew, so they can be thoroughly cleaned.

Anyone coming to the CHAMPS show, we will have several final consumer versions available to see. We'll be in booth #262

Can you please show us a video of vapor production at 360F with CANNABIS? 420F is way too high temp for cannabis. And I'm sure only a few of us here would use this innovative device for wacky baccy anyways. Release date is NEAR! But I won't make the purchase just because it looks slim and cool. It's all about the vapor production :)

+1 .. It been asked several times already ..
+ List of used materials was promised much before the video :)..
Sry for my impatience but i think it takes far less time to ask someone for a list that is already existent as info to him..

The vapor path is all high temp food grade silicon, with some plastic flexible wrapping on the outside.

We're currently undergoing a safety certification process for all of our components, though we're not sure if that will come through in time to add it on the first batch of vaporizers out of the factory. Since some components will come in contact with the matter to be vaporizered, we want to proivde as many assurances as possible with actual certification to back up claims.

The heating element is copper

The internal components are mil spec food grade plastics (so no outgassing and no overheating issues) and stainless steel alloys, although some of that may be subject to slight alterations before the actual units are shipped.. A very early prototype had some issues with the plastic getting too warm for our liking, so we upgraded

Non-lead soder

The batteries are lithium ion and we just received additional and warranty info from the factory:
- initial charge time is about 12 hours (like with a lot of devices), subsequent charges take approximately 3 hours for 40-60 minutes of use. The actual time can be extended by smaller drags, turning the unit off after initial use and lower temps.
- we're looking at a 300 charge cycle before we start losing the charge capacity, though lifetime capacity should be good for about 2000 full charges.
- the warranty on the battery is 6 months and the rest of the unit is a 2 year warranty.
- on the back of the finished units will be rubberized paint to add more toughness to the unit and avoid scratching and smudging.

All units will be hand assembled for maximum quality.

Another video with vapor production is being readied and shot this afternoon.

Will the consumer be able to replace the battery or will it have to be returned to you to have the battery replaced?

Returned for placement. Due to the delicate nature of some parts of the microprocessor motherboard, we'd hate for someone to try to replace batteries themselves and potentially break the unit and/or circuitry.

Can the silicone tubing and the rest of the unit be cleaned throughly in order to make it ok to ship back to you. How would one go about cleaning the inside of the unit (Including the tubing) in order to make it safe (For legal purposes) to ship back?

Thx for the list Davinci :) >!
I used to have issues with silicon and was reserved to it until i got my Underdog vaporizer = its a log vape like PD,AZ,Woodeez but it uses silicon stem.. and you actually load herb in it.. .Is that the case with your device too or there is a specific chamber made of metal ?
Safety of brass has been already discussed on that forum + there are many other model that use/used it :), Anyway is the heating element separated from the airpath.. or it stands in the airpath ?

Personally this reminds me of the Zephyr iOn somehow so i'd vote in favour of a proposal to the effect that the tubing should be removed before shipment over any snail-mail parcels delivery service.

The vapor path is high temp food grade silicon. I assume this is in place after the herb chamber. So how about the air path over or through the heating chamber? For instance, the Silver Surfer has an airpath that is a ceramic element inside a glass chamber. The air flows through that and into the herb, creating the vapor that then gets sucked through a silicon tube.

is the circuitry in the airpath?

The silicon straw can be removed for the return

The chamber is made of an aluminum/steel alloy

There is no circuitry in the airpath. It's just the way they are built, we wouldn't someone taking the unit apart (unless they wanted to void their warranty)

No delay on the release date :)

The owner of the factory will be arriving with approximately 20 units in time for the CHAMPS show with the first shipment of 2000 arriving on time for the March 1st release date.

Some of these little last minute changes are to small things in the parts. All of the units will still be assembled by hand, so if one piece is changed, only that piece will need be changed out on these show models.

Just because i'm curious...

Is there any chance for the Karma DaVinci Pocket Vaporizer to be part of the event below?

can you tell us more about the allow, like even a product number? Purple Days provided the exact ratings of the components he used and the members here looked up specs and talked about it.

Well I certainly would be there to take a look at this.

From the sounds of its build quality, and the high quality of correspondence you've kept with us this is looking like it will be my launch box's replacement for stealth use.

This thing sounds pretty good, and looks pretty good. I just want to see some good vapor production, and see if it can whitewall a piece.

If you look into big clouds and whitewalls.. I suggest you look into Flame powered portables.. or Logvape with a battery(there are some really small ones)..,maybe Arizer if you can deal with the possible robot fart smell.. and bother to replace your unit few times LOl.. (True story) I don't expect soon to see a tasty portable with that kind of battery producing whitewalls.. off herb. .
IMO this will be a device that allows does the job at low temp.. and if the flavor is as good as my Underdog (logvape which uses silicon stems, ) Love the "true convection" that silicon stems offer (they don't get as hot as glass) .

I'd find it nice to get both options, actually! Especially when attending to a mainstream event like that which i wrote about, a few posts above: no doubt those with health issues are easier to seduc when there's glass right where it counts, IMHO!...
