I have experimented.
Both with BHO dabbed through water, and with Herbal water.
I have gone down into the water pipe, and gathered sticky balls of goo after hits,
and dabbed them directly onto a nail, and medicated well.
I have collected Vapor bong "wall wipings" on cotton and have vaped them in an SSV wand.
Reach into that bong and get a ball of goo on your finger, and tell me that it has no THC!
I will gladly send you the 50¢...
But I also saved you a few dollars buying some new glass that popped up elsewhere
through my ingenious distraction using the plastic!

I Can't vape outta big glass or acrylic Dry or wet , no matter what I cough and thats not good for me any more [I pull muscles and such ] I'm not even searching for clouds . But sometimes when Vapin' with a smoker they almost seem to need a huge lung busting hit inorder to think they are getting a productive hit .It gets'em into the fold and then they are open to find the method and tools
they like, most stop needing to watch huge clouds wafting about and do learn to conserve the Vapor by having more in their lungs then floating around in the air .

So to summarize some people like water filtered and some people prefer hot loads and goo in their mouth?? Lol I couldn't resist! Actually fair points made across the board and in the VG thread it makes sense to promote dry vapor. Although I like both, I get my best bell ringers from my bubbler for sure! That is through my ssv and not VG though. But for portability and price that is where the VG is king of the class, but that is just my humble opinion...

It's been 2 months since i've started evaluating modified versions of the classic wooden VaporGenie, my 3rd one happens to be what i've been using for more than 2 weeks now.
Here's some interesting development about H2O forming inside its PVC tubing: it turns out i haven't noticed the usual translucent/blurred look (in my upper tube) for days!... It seems to me that reducing global heat-diffuser thickness has contributed significantly to this radical change; in version 2 the heating process required more time and/or hardly reached a suitable temperature (giving way to thin/faint inhalations and hence long repetitive sessions at times), alternately my 3rd/last modded VG appears to combine these factors:
In other other words there's less time to collect water vapour in my PVC tubing, not only that: the later cannabic stream is hot enough to prevent water condensation i suppose. So, maybe it's only a coïncidence but my nasal congestion episode started while i was still using version 2 which was colder, slower...
Not simply humidified, e. g. water droplets came out if i shaked!
I figure if more water was accumulating then more CO2 and potential butane-related contaminants were also released. Since there's no perfect lighter and i'm no perfect operator neither, well, i can't reject the possibility that there's been incomplete butane burning taking place all along. My 2nd modded version could have translated into surexposition while the one after doesn't make me sneeze much anymore, in a context with contributing factors like pollen. Coïncidence?...
Hoping to make some progress i've located a resseller offering Xikar products, exclusively... Their "Ressource" seems to be a clone of the Vector KGM Gladius so i'm going to try that. My Lotus Gaucho doesn't work well when it's near-full/near-empty and i hear exhaust when i turn the knob and it's near-empty! Either i've been sold some counterfit or it was returned deffective and then sold as new again - POTENTIALLY CONTAMINATED. Anyway, the flame seems mostly OKay after a fresh purge/refill/test cycle but i still observe piss-poor performance which goes from a flame that extinguises and then lights-up by itself (over a fraction of a second), to one that starts elongating gradually, or even abruptly for that matter!! Honestly, i can't wait to see how i'll feel about a Xikar knowing my results depend on a good flame...
As for the rest, i get lesser "shadow images" on the bowl's grid (if i take care to avoid deformations, defeating a remodelling meant to raise that metal screen above a unique contact-zone near the center.
Finally, left-overs gained in uniformity and dark spots rarify gradually; my ABV was golden-brown last week but not anymore. Once more i must be flirting with high-temperatures - as with my HA i guess!...

I dropped the $40 on the VG lighter in hopes it was not going to do the short-long flame dance, but unfortunately, it still does it. I have been sticking to blue flame mostly. I will use yellow if that is all I have access to, but that was a bit disappointing about the VG lighter. I don't think I can return it.

My Gaucho wasn't sold as a VG pipe lighter and hence i can't really claim that it is defective even if it's not up to my expectations. VaporGenie offers a customized version of it so i suspected there's got to be a good motive for them to do that... Still, your post appears to indicate even that has failed to garantee success (no dancing), though it happens that your "VaporGenie Pipe Lighter" is clearly advertized as being suitable (since it's been customized to meet their specifications) and hence i believe you should contact the company over this matter. The Xikar Ressource is going to cost me 59.95 $ CAD (this would be my expense before applying taxes i presume), if it doesn't work better i'm falling back to the Uni-Apex "SideKick" style of jetable, eventually: that one was problem-free from day #1 but i can't find it locally!!
Quite frankly, i'd do just that if i felt more confident with a torch around my wooden heat colllector: a blue flame is the main reason why i considered The Hammer initially. I wish my bowl were not thermally connected to the heat-exchanger which i'd like to pre-heat a few seconds before i begin inhalation, actually...

Well it looks like I will be ordering a hand carved genie very soon. I am about 60% of the way through this thread and it looks like the best vape to fill my camping/hurricane/festival needs. I think not having to worry about having a can of butane around in the car is well worth the price of using an old fashion Bic. I am looking forward to reconnecting to the early days of smoking, without the actual smoke part.

I use my coil the most of all my vapes. Paired up with a water pipe, the coil hits like champ.
Do you have it already? If not then I would recommend waiting until you tried it. That being said, it's not the worst plan if you like it. I use mine over other vapes because it's much faster to pack and has a MUCH faster heat up time. I can get my stash out, pack the VG, and take a giant rip all in under a minute. A little longer than a minute if I include changing the water, which i do every other bowl.
I use it enough where I have thought about selling off my other vapes, but I couldn't bring myself to do sell them.

The only thing I don't like is that you have to pack the entire bowl, it doesn't work with small amounts as it's always my case.
But as a portable for outdoor use it's spectacular. After just 4/5 sec of BIC flame you get vapor, perfect for a vacation! It's faster that the Lithe and as well really really small. It also doesn't get always fu***ng hot while using it cause you apply the flame considerably less thanks to the stone filter.
How do you guys clean it? I don't want to disassemble the unit but I'd like it smell free for future vacations/plane trips.
Anyway I got VG Coil in the mail 2 days ago and we are becoming friends!

How do you guys set the heigh of stone with coil one extreme position or in between?
I strongly suggest that any VG Coil owner watch this video to learn more about how your Coil is put together. Once you are comfortable with taking it apart and putting it back together, cleaning becomes as easy as an iso soak followed by a warm water rinse.

That video actually saved my ass when I took my Coil out of the country. I packed it in 4 different parts of my luggage and I was sure that I knew how to put it back together. I was wrong. Luckily, I remembered that video, found it on youtube and figured out what I was doing wrong.
